Is Pepe good at anything other than getting yellows and red cards ? I remember him kicking a player in the head once...

--------Thorgen Hazard----Dominic Solanke-
-----Ross Barkley-Hakan Calhanoglu-Denis Suarez
---------------------------Phillip Billing-------------------------------
Jamal Lewis-Micheal Keane-Thilo Kehrer-Cedric Soares
---------------------------------Pickford--------------------------------

-I actually like Lewis' potential because he seems quick and relatively 2-footed, just never seen him actually play well. Like Cedric, Calhanoglu and Pickford, I've seen him do great stuff on highlights but when I watch their team play 90 they really struggle to defend. I guess Pickford must have played well in a 2018 World Cup match or two I watched

-I know Thorgen Hazard is a good player but he always looks like the least dangerous Dortmund attacker

-Solanke is just too young, big strikers like him take a while. Billing might be similar just playing at a higher level than he should at this stage of his career because of his physical characteristics.

-Barkley I know I have seen play well for Everton, probably seen him have a brace or something, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I maintain he should become a false 9 as he can crack a ball with both feet and has no idea what he's doing anywhere else on the pitch anyways.

Ederson.

Whenever I have watched him he committed a mistake. A good keeper but I think City can do better.
Same. Except for his excellent passing I think he’s very erratic and a decent shot stopper but nothing more.

Whenever I watched Eze and Benrahma...they look decent with no end product.

Says more about my general disposable time to watch football that's not United than anything else tbf.

Enjoyed watching both, but time after time the finish has been poor or chosen the wrong option.

It's probably not overly representative of their season like! Just my opportunities to watch.

Phil Jones is due a testimonial. This is his 10th season.
If I was him, I’d actually waive the testimonial as we’ve had more service from Greenwood in that time than him.

I will only list players that are rated highly by the mainstream media and fans.

Timo Werner - I've actually watched him quite a lot, but he didn't have a single game that "wowed" me. Not that he played bad in every game or anything like it, it's just that he never looked like a potential worldclass striker. Not even close actually.

Raphael Varane - he just never impressed me. At best he was very quiet and did a solid job, nothing more though. At his worst he literally cost his team the game with some unbelievable errors (and there were quite a few of those). I just don't get why some rate him so highly. I bet that if he didn't have such a leader like Ramos playing next to him, he would look lost in most games just like he did in that second leg against City.

Antoine Griezmann - again, I know he was great at times for Atletico, I personally just never saw a full game that made me think "Wow, this is an absolute worldclass player!". I've watched about 10 full games of him and he just happened to look average or even below average most of the time. Maybe just bad luck on my part though.

That is harsh even if he has been injured a lot . Still helped us win a league title as a squad player and was fairly key to us ending second under Mourinho.

Gundogan - there was loads of hype around him. Especially when we were interested in signing him.

Benjamin Mendy
Declan Rice
Theo Walcott
Dele Alli

Manuel Neuer - this might seem outrageous but I’ve actually seen him have more games with mistakes than games where he’s been solid.

No offense, but you didn't watch Bayern's CL games this year or the knockout games during the 2014 WC?
Just curious.

Ruben Neves. Obviously has a cracking MOTD highlight reel, but whenever I've seen a full match of him his general play has looked incredibly average considering the hype

I've only watched him 5 times so far but I'm putting Sancho on this list.
He's not been great for England so far to be honest so that's not a surprise if you're not a regular Dortmund watcher.

Who are the best current shot stoppers that aren't good with their feet? Seems like ability on the ball is how the entire backline is rated even the keepers now.

Jesus, seven years? That feels so wrong. In my head he is still a young talent and still at Roma. A bit of the Lingard syndrome going on, always young and talented?
Argentinian winger scoring 15 in the league for Roma at 20 years old you'd think Spurs were getting a top talent. But he's never been anything more than a squad player for them.

Yes I did. He was amazing especially in the final. But over the period of the last 10 years I’ve seen him make more mistakes than I would expect from one of the best in the world. Of course I don’t watch him every game. But I must have caught all his bad ones.

Committed a couple minutes of thought to this one

Ander Herrera - probably just compared to Utd fans

Jorginho - yep.

Otamendi - always gets exposed

Juan Mata - has had some some world class stats, but never seen it with him personally

Ederson - been shown to be a poor shot stopper whenever the opposition seems to get a kick

Higuain - I’ve only really watched “big” games which he always seems to bottle

Lloris - never seen him go through a game without a panic moment

Koke - good player, but not a world class star like he’s been made out to be in the past

Oh yeah, can't forget Timo Werner, granted I've only seen him with Germany, but he was a nothing player everytime.
Hope that with Chelsea it's the same.
Werner for me as well. Not seen but just doesn't match the hype when I do watch him.

Declan Rice as well. Maybe he's a great CB in him but as a DM or CM I don't see anything special.

Jack Rodwell and Nick Powell come to mind as playwds I never go the hype over from back on the not so distant day.

Agree with this too.

To be fair I bought into the hype the first two games I saw of him. Since then everytime I've watched him I've wondered what all the fuss is about.

Tielemans is another. Good passer but he's not the brilliant talent he was initially made out to be unless he takes some huge strides.

Harry Winks. Not sure what it is with players like him, Mark Noble and Scott Parker. Bang average, excels at nothing but raved about by their fans

Rudiger. Whenever I waych him he runs around like a headless chicken and then does really stupid things like take someone out when there is no need too, or allow a attacker to cut inside him on their stronger foot. Also pretty average in the air.

Ozil, I mean the fees and wages he’s commanded I would have expected to see world class performances in a couple of games at least. Glad United didn’t get him.

Not many in this thread watch football I see.
I was about to post something similar.
Listing players like Özil, Lewandowski, Neymar under „players you have never seen play well“ is simply strange.

Thilo Kehrer. The weakest link in the few PSG outings I've seen and a nothing player for the national team.

Most people here watch mostly the PL and Lewa and Neymar never having played there might be part of the explanation. And some Ôzil's best performances came with a Madrid shirt
