It's not like he deserves any praise for it, but it is exactly the same as what every world leader and opposition leader would do. Just basic optics.

If trump wasn't an obese 70+ years old I'd say the COVID has got nothing on him. Rich people with best care have a way to deal with it.

But I hope he lives, I don't want him to become a martyr and a death would be a cop out.

Although if he dies, can we chalk it as an act of god? Our lives at His hands at the end of the day covid or no covid

So 70+, Obese and a recent medical episode. Oh boy, that's one hell of a co-morbidity list.

Personally I take no pleasure in the idea of him suffering greatly or being on death's door, but I do find it gratifying to think he might be forced to learn a harsh lesson. I thought this was a pretty useful summary of the diverging trajectories of the US and Europe, and one thing I'd kind of forgotten about was his "Liberate Michigan!" in the midst of the first wave. There's so much lunacy built into just two words there.

Maybe the Twitter silence has been more to do with his advisers keeping him away from saying anything silly than any physical limitations at this point. Even in the video he projected that message of love and appreciation. Soon enough he might even start signalling empathy. Gotta get him back to fuelling hate and downplaying the crisis before he's allowed on Twitter!
