It’s the circumstances that make this event a bit different. We’re dealing with the biggest disseminator of erroneous information regarding the virus who actually has the virus. Any inquiry as to how he contracted the virus & its effects is knowledge for the public good.Like, honestly, we're all rubbernecking here but the idea that it's the responsibility of the state to engage with our desire for a scale of 1-10 how alive he seems doesn't strike me as terribly rational.
I do agree with you in so much as I really don’t care too much about his blood oxygen level, but his current treatments are germane to the public better understanding the virus.
It’s also the potential political vacuum & the deleterious effects that his sudden passing could unleash. We don’t need another Al Haig moment this tune around when there is civil unrest inside our country, rapid deployment forces are being created within armed branches of the government for potential internal deployment, & the populace is becoming further divided by the day. We don’t need someone down the pecking order in the CoG to try to take the reins of any faction of the country without any pushback. Would transparency help this not to happen? Hopefully it would.
It would be humorous to see someone like Mnuchin try this, though.
