Pogba is an attacking midfielder. I think we need to stop kidding ourselves that playing him in a defensive role is best suited for him.
He played decently the game before this. McTominay, Rashford, Shaw, Maguire, Matic. Nobody did anything neither, I'll give Pogba a break. This is the way he plays when the chips are stacked against him, it's just a fact and he'll never change. That doesn't mean he is useless, you just can't rely on him in tough games. Luxury player.

Carried him all season, it was like being down to 9 men once Martial got sent off.

It’s crazy how many people are acting all surprised at his recent bad performances. It’s only 3 games. He’s had two or three times that many shit displays in every season at the club. This is nothing new.
It’s just not working out, cut our losses and get rid. We have Bruno or VDB for attacking mid. The manner in which he gave away that penalty was embarrassing, what the hell was he trying to do? He scores a deflected free kick that was going 10 yards wide in 0-3 win, his best highlight in two seasons for us.

He is a liability and all the opposition have to do is harass him when he is on the ball and he turns over posession as he is either slow between the ears or he simply has no spatial awareness, he is also a turnstile in defence.

Well, they were. If the team is not playing well, or the team have difficulties facing a tough opponent I wouldn't play him. I think this is a sad reality, but we can't change the player.

He is a good player but not a team player. He doesn't contribute offensively enough to be given leeway in defending. We should have got a player like Grealish instead of him. Grealish may not be as talented as Pogba but he works his socks off. That helps his team mates and he is quicker than Pogba and has the passing range and also can dribble too.
That said a midfield of Pogba, Matic and Bruno is normally not going to work against decent opposition most of the time without a good plan. We never have a good plan under Ole. He should be sold but it is too late this season to do it now.

Ultimately it's on Ole. Midfield wasn't balanced to go against a tireless midfield of Sissoko and Hojberg. You get 4 guys pressing Matic and Pogba, we are done and that's exactly what happened. Its an easy tactic to use against us.
