Honestly, no reason at all. I agree with all those things: he was a great player. I’ve always thought he was a great player, just didn’t like him for some reason. Could be that I’m a fan of Zlatan and they didn’t get along too well, maybe.
 fair enough. We all have a few of them irrational dislikes.

Yes and it’s very strange because in reality he was more a victim of Zlatan’s than anything else. He came to PAG as the best goal scorer in Serie A and had to move to the flank and accept that Zlatan was number one.

Just talked to my brother about it, and he also dislikes Cavani. Says he’s too much of a drama queen. The Matador, you know:D

I would pair him with Martial or Rashford in home games. He is still great goalscorer

People here forget that Cavani is actually known for missing lots of chances, the best thing he does better than Martial and Rashford is off the ball movement.

Can't wait to see Cavani lead the line with Rashford and Mason either side of him - Martial needs sharpening up with a couple of weeks on the subs bench after today's performance

Took his chance well. I’d like to see him start in the centre forward positionwith Rashford and martial both wide Of him.

Lovely goal. Never expected him to put it on that side when it looked like it was one of those ones for the far corner.

finally?

how many minutes has he played?
1 goal in 5 games sounds bad, but it is only 93 minutes that he played. Plus he was out for quite a while with injuries and then didn't play for another couple of months. All in all, i think he did well considering his age and situation

Exactly. Goals to game isn’t everything if it was then Ole or Hernandez where flops as per game there record was poor but per min they where great. Anyway he has to start next game with how Martial played so I expect Rashford-Cavani-Greenwood against WBA

exactly!

being eased in, whilst I’d presume he’s working on his fitness.

I'm just delighted to watch him playing for us been a fan of his for years and to see him in a United shirt is fantastic. Great goal today his movement is excellent and his intelligence to stay onside knowing Fernandes was dwelling on the ball was first class.

He's out for ages and hasn't scored in months for PSG and us.

Getting a goal today is good for him since it'll give him more confidence that he's finally back on track with his fitness and injury.

As an added bonus, it'll get the media off his back because you just know the English media are just waiting to call him a flop.

@criticalanalysis is what can happen when you have both Cavani and Zlatan in the same team and let them play one half each. Magic.

 it's alright mate, I get it. The kids nowadays call it having a 'bias'.

Mine was/is Nani. I will always say he was world class for 18months and should have been giving that right wing berth for us long term..

The way he finished that is just prolific.

Timed his run, opened up his body, aim for the far post, slotted in the near post.

Pickford got played.

Manchester Utd never lose, just run out of time

I'm right with you on that one. Whenever people start saying he was too inconsistent I always jump in and point out that the only time in his Man Utd career that he was played on the right he was probably the best player in the league and led us to the title.

God what I'd do to have a prime Nani in this team. So wonderfully two-footed, and lethal from either wing. A deft finisher as well.

You can't teach that sort of instinctive finishing. Class from Cavani, hope he gets more starts.

Proper strikers finish that. Very natural.

I think he's a useful signing. He'll have these nice little cameos and take pressure off Martial and Rashford so that they continue their development without losing too many minutes.

Great finish, pleased he’s up and running, hope he gets more game time because I really think he could get some important goals for us.

It’s good football is more about feelings than about being rational :)

Saw someone in another thread even making a case for Martial to replaced as the 9 beause he would have failed to held his run as if it wasnt a open goal move with 3 men vs 1.. The bar is on the floor with this fanbase
and I actually like Cavani btw.
Same here. People are judging his performance based on the teams performance. He’s barely had any playing time and does look a bit heavy in his movement. The Uruguayan Ighalo if you want.

Martial on current form doesn’t deserve to be starting. Way off the pace and doesn’t make enough runs and doesn’t hold the ball up well. Cavani at least deserves a start in the next couple games. Telles coming in now will be good timing.

Good for him to open his account. Given Rashford is injured his should start next match with Martial on the left. He should be perfect for next match.

Jesus, he scored a 94th minute goal against no defenders and people are praising his “stuttered steps” in the run up to the goal as if it wouldn’t have been horrible embarrassing for a professional footballer to be offside there.

Aye I'm delighted for him too to get off the mark but few lads getting carried away eulogising about him staying onside, how clinical the finish was and the slagging off of the likes of Martial in the process is a bit annoying.

Its a 4v2 breakaway in the last attack of the game. He couldn't really have wished for an easier chance to open his account
