Jose showed it by bringing his own demise Pogba, forking out 30 mil on Mikhi, then swapping him for Sanchez and forking out another 1.5 million a month so the Alexis can keep the bench shiny. Never mind the clumsy donkey Lukaku was (I should be careful with the term donkey in this day and age. Donkey's have long penises and that could be a deemed racist). A third of our counter attacks turned into us being counter attacked, because his first touch was so poor it was actually a through ball for the opponent. Mind you, watched him the other day - he has improved that aspect.
How do you know donkeys have long penises?

Solskjaer on Champions League group and Europa League
"It's been a step up from last season with the Europa League, those six games have been great in testing levels because we played against two top teams, one in final and one in semi-final last year, we've learnt any small mistake will get punish, any margin can punish you, we were very close to going through in a very good group, that shows me a team moving forward from drawing to Colchester and barely beating Rochdale.
"We struggled to beat Astana, Partizan convincingly, we've taken steps from last year, a year back. Short-term learning is we still have a little bit of a way to go to of course compete and go and win the Champions League because that's our aim to win trophies and be contenders."
We're now losing against Istanbul Basaksehir instead. Progression.

Seriously this guy is so small time he would probably fit in Lilliput.

I'm confused, how on earth can he point to our group stages as progress? Struggling in Europa a year ago? Does he know he inherited a squad that won the Europa League a year before he came in?
He also invested 250m something in the squad...most of it in the same defence that keep leaking goals.

Ubelievable quotes from a United manager. The transformation into late Wenger-era Arsenal is complete.

Up next: Arteta-era Arsenal.
We’ve finally morphed into a cross breed of second year Moyes and last 5 years of Wenger’s Arsenal. Quite staggering really.

Manager makes out United should be pleased they can even give Leipzig a game, in advance of a match against a much better opponent.

Much better would have been frustrated talk and expectation of more, starting this weekend. Not negative, positive about the squad and club and what we are capable of.

He won't do that kind of positive spin though, cause that'll ruin his ready made excuses incase we don't beat City. Incidentally, if we don't, it'll be either 19 or 20 points from 11, Maureen had 20 from 11 the season he got booted out the door.

that’s true but I’d say it’s a mini meltdown behind the scenes with Pogba and all that. I like that about Ole. He keeps it behind closed doors. It’s bland and safe I agree but we saw Jose attacking the club and the players in the press. It fixes nothing

Don't attack the players or club! Praise them!

Say we had a great start to the CL and we're devastated that we didn't progress, we're Manchester United and we always expect to be in the later stages of the CL, we've got a great squad here and the last few games in the group weren't good enough from us all. But we move on, and we've got a perfect opportunity in a derby tomorrow to start and show once again what we are capable of.

He was all Billy big balls about Manchester United and expectations when he came in, but that's narrative has changed completely to one that is clearly self preservation, trying to convince his bosses and the World that actually, he's doing a sound job.

Absolute shocker. People supporting Ole Gunner Fraudster would absolutely have slated our previous managers for a remark like that. The guy needs to feck off yesterday.

Yeah, I was wondering about that one. Although didn't he come out very attacking one game last year, surprising City and giving Utd a lead that you carried over the line?

As long as Pogba is nowhere near the squad, let alone the bench, I’ll live with the result, not that he’d make 1 iota of difference anyway.

Manchester United and we always expect to be in the later stages of the CL,
Reminds me of the expectations to England before every World Cups. All the brits were talking about a final even though the players didn’t hold the standard.

Also remember fans who say that only one or two of Leipzig players were good enough for United. It’s easy to overestimate own players! How many United players would Nagelsmann have picked to his first team if he had the opportunity?

It’s no reason to have expectations “because we are United”. Our expectations should be based on the team we have. Today it’s not good enough. Only Rashford and Bruno are clear choices in regard of being first team player on Bayern, Real, Barca, LFC, City and other top-teams.

Off course United should attract the best players (my subjective opinion), but today it’s fare from the truth.

Solskjaer on injuries
"Of course, we were disappointed on Tuesday night, it's natural, we really wanted to go through, reality is not, we got to move on. It was a tight group decided by fine margins, you can see that in most games.
"It was a long travel back, so we had a day of recovery on Wednesday and after that the focus has been good, focus on this game, Manchester derby, probably the best game you can ask for after such a disappointment because it does stick in your system.
"Anthony will definitely be involved, Edinson has been on the grass but I'll make a decision later."
feck me, that’ll be another slow start, he’ll come on with a snickers and a packet of cheese and onion.

This happens every week. I don't know why people care so much about these utterly boring events. Go back to the ones before some great results under solskjaer and there they will be as well. No bearing at all on anything. Boring boring quotes held up as some sort of big picture evidence. Really tiresome.

He should have said it's a bloody disgrace for Manchester United to go out like this. But he can't say that because the players would turn around and say you planned it. We just did what you planned.

Are you framing the defensive disorganisation/lapses as part of the plan?

We bottled it in the CL which is a step up from bottling it in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup.*

*Said in advance of us bottling the Europa League again when we crash out against yet another clearly inferior opponent.

you never heard that from me: I said he should have been backed with who he wanted just like he was at chelsea and then see. it was so obvious that certain powers in the boardroom never wanted him
He was backed and failed miserably. After saying that the team was great and that he was ready to challenge for the league in the same 2017-18 season, he ended 19 points behind Guardiola. After finishing the previous season 24 points behind Conte.

He then demanded more money after spending the world transfer record on a player he didn't know how to use, alienating more than half the sauad, publically disrespecting the club to mask his own failures, and underachieving woefully.

He was more than backed. And did a piss poor job. And was therefore rightfully sacked after he found himself 19 points behind Klopp by December of 2018.

As I say, he wasn't right for us, but he was successful, clearly our most successful post Fergie.

Sanchez was a panic purchase from the entire club I feel, they desperately wanted one up on City and 99% of us were behind it, loving it in fact.

I don't think he brought about his own demise, he wanted rid of Pogba and Martial after finishing 2nd, yet the club decided they had different ideas on the direction the club should take.... from then on Jose is a ticking time bomb as we all know. Stupid appointment from start to finish because you have to back Jose or just don't fecking bother, trying to change him is idiotic.
He was the one who bought Pogba. Breaking the world transfer record in doing so. And then not even challenging for the title. When you're 19 points behind first place and out of contention by early December, you're just the best of 19 losers (having outspent the other 18 teams)

Jose gained back to back qualification for the CL @McTerminator. Won 2 cups in his first year, qualified for Champions League, finished 2nd in his second season, qualified for CL. CLEAR PROGRESS. Yet he was deemed not right for the club and therefore not good enough to keep his job, so what has changed other than expectations of the manager?

Finishing top 4 after finishing 3rd doesn't feel like progress. Nagelsmann has shown you clearly just what can be achieved in 2 seasons by a good manager, for 8m euros NET. Hell Jose showed it, and even if he was the wrong choice for us as a club, we had clear proof that a top manager can improve and win things post Fergie, even with these owners and board.
I should clarify that I meant back to back qualification with consistent top four finished (league qualification if you will). I think you have to take account of Jose's off the pitch antics. Ole's press conferences may not be inspiring, but they are not as toxic as Jose's were. I also feel that the recruitment (Appreciate this is contentious) and the style of play is better, just my opinion of course.

I am not comparing Ole and Naglesmann. If you told me it was a straight up choice between the two and we were bringing in Naglesmann I wouldn't argue, but his ability does not in and of itself diminish the job Ole has done since coming in. As things stand I can agree that Ole's days seem numbered, but I think we can all agree on that without the drama and alarm that is going on right now.

Did i miss a briefing or is that your opinion of what you expected from Ole. Have never heard this goal that Ole was only tasked with making top 4 back to back and nothing more. Even the reports backing Ole say the board thinks he can mount a title challenge this season not just top 4
Fair point, that is my opinion, but I think the club briefings of late seem to back me up. Their start of season targets and thinking we could maybe challenge the way the season is shaping up are not necessarily comparable.

I don't expect ole inners to want him gone but they should at least acknowledge that Ole is wrong on this one. Unfortunately they won't. For them ole FC is worth more then the club itself

Mentioning Astana, Colchester etc... Ole really does himself no favours. Our previous managers would be vilified for chatting so much shit.
Yeah and Rochdale as well, he knows deep down we disrespected Istanbul and paid a heavy price for it

If you go by average points per match we are in 1st since June, or 20 matches, or more than a half of a season. I don't see how you assume we won't be in top 4 based on the evidence.

What do you want him to say? "David has really sucked lately and I'm going to start Henderson."

Changing keepers especially one who has been here so long and been so important to the team takes a bit of time. I have little doubt the Henderson will be number 1 by the end of December. It's a delicate situation and if the change is going to be made you want to get some decent money for DeGea, not ruffle to many feathers, .
De Gea has been off form since the end of the 17/18 season and Ole still sees no problem in backing him endlessly

Because the football we've played since this season started isn't how we've played in June. It's been trending downwards for a while now.

All these ridiculous alternative RAWKish league tables, and yet by the end of the season, we’ll finish around 4th to 6th.

Of course there are some real Ole FC fans, but I’m convinced some of you are just Woodward’s cronies.

Remember when we were two games into this seasons Champions League, and everyone was saying we would get relegated but win the champions league based on our poor showing in the prem and good showing in the CL? Well, that was one third of the CL campaign done and look how quickly it fell apart. But now look where we are in the Prem. It should also be remembered that after winning 11 of his first 13 games in charge, he then went on to win just 7 of the next 27 in all comps. The biggest complaint about Oles time in charge is a lack of consistency. That was true 2 years ago, and its still true today. Whether its a whole season or single game, Ole has shown that we just dont know what we are going to get.

Fraud might be harsh, but its not completely inaccurate.
