Liverpool fans will always be the worse fans in the world. They are talking about the Pogba penalty (correct decision), but no one is mentioning the Mings elbow that made Pogba bleed inside the penalty.
When you ask them to name the penalties that should never have been given, they get all wound up. I legitimately only think the penalty away to Aston Villa last season was the only dubious one out of all of them. Possibly Dan James away to Norwich. But the rest were legit. It’s not our fault we have forwards with fast feet.

Livermule fans, i have never ever watch a Livermule game in my life. Nor will i ever, but what gives me joy, is the pain they get watching our games.
so what do you do when we play them? Skip those games?

Happens every year. Just pick the next best team to us.
They've been title challengers for 2 years but it happens every year.

This is why I find all the circle jerking on here about Liverpool the last few years really weird. They refuse to give us any credit ever and are straight back on the conspiracy bullshit when we start looking quite good again.

Some of our fans however are happy to praise them to the hilt.
Because for the most part we're level headed and not a bunch of babies? It's not a negative that we're a more realistic and reasonable group.

I’d love a penalty at the kop end in the 96th minute where Bruno actually takes a dive and VAR checks it but doesn’t think it’s clear and obvious error and allow it to stand. Then Bruno steps up to take it and it gets saved by Allison. But David Coote who is the VAR ref then asks for it to be retaken because Alisson was encroaching.

Bruno steps up again and once again it’s saved by Alisson legitimately, comes back out and there’s a melee for the ball on the rebound by a group of players. Ref blows full time whistle and both settle for a draw. But then VAR spot a handball by Henderson during the melee and award a penalty after the full time whistle has gone. Bruno steps up and slots it away and runs to the kop end covering his ears in his traditional celebration.

During this whole fiasco, Klopp was desperately trying to bring on his 3rd sub but ref didn’t spot the linesman.
That would break them for the next decade.

Unreal this coverage, Dean Smith saying it's not a penalty and the interviewer brushes past it, and no discussion over the decision from the panel at all.
Just them hanging around near the top like a bad smell is enough for it to be a thing. The desperation to get these back at the top is sickening.
..

All teams get injuries.

They haven’t had any big players missing for long periods
So? It doesn't mean they'll suddenly have any big players getting injured that are going to miss long periods of time.
We have beaten all the also rans when needed. Arsenal at the beginning of the season when they were a supposed challenger, then Chelsea, then Leicester and then Spurs. I hate playing united but I hope we truly spank them.
Let’s win on Monday first then we will be first going into it.
..
Yet another non existent win for them from diving
MOTD:
Lineker "Was Luke Shaw too honest there to stay on his feet, rather than go to the floor and win a penalty?"
Danny Murphy "You can bet Mo Salah would have gone down there, Luke is too honest for his own good"
Refs are just going to continue to give these dives
That’s a yellow card for Pogba
Instead of that it’s a goal and 2pts
..
They’re all throwing themselves into each other’s arms cos they scraped through villa at home with another non pen
They gave Stevie G shit for doing that with 4 games left after we beat city to go clear
22 games and 5 solid months left. It’s like they’ve completely forgotten everything
..
It's United exploiting the state of the game at the moment. If you know how to dive properly in the box you'll get a penalty. That's why the commentators say it's 'clever' every week when they get them.
Another thing we have VAR to thank for. I remember when there was a school of thought that VAR would stop diving, instead it's just led to an epidemic of it and the team with the best cheats win.

I’d say we even swing to the opposite end these days. Many fans think our own players are crap every game and everyone else’s are class. It’s the anti Liverpool in every facet
True.
On RAWK, when they have a bad game, you get an odd poster here and there, who criticizes their team and he gets shut down immediately either by other posters or by mods threatening to swing the ban hammer. :houllier:

If that were the case on RedCafe, we'd have probably have 50% less users on here.

Grealish.
If he woke up tomorrow morning and understood, not realised how good he is, and said to himself "I'm gonna stop being a diver or a snide c*nt" and just applied himself as an honest hard working footballer, always avoiding the temptation of an easy fall, I think he would gain enormous respect as a footy player.
To do that though he has to stop being a bit like Jack Grealish though. Can he do that? Can a football player inclined to fall, toughen up and just play footy the hard way, not the snide way?
Nah John. He’s just “clever”. (Cos he’s English see?)
As much as I don’t like to admit it I feel Grealish is the kind of player that Ferguson would sign and sort the attitude out.
Reminiscent of Rooney in his earlier days (although Rooney’s issue was his temper more than Grealish’s which is just being a bit of a twat.)
To answer your question I think his future massively depends on his next move. If he ends up somewhere like Spurs his career will probably end up going the way of Darren Bentley whereas being managed by a a Klopp or Guardiola may well see him fulfil his potential.
..
Can't believe people are not worried by these
Much more worried about City.
I’m worried by us at the mo
United aren’t better than City. They just aren’t and won’t get as many pts
City if they win their games in hand will be 1pt behind when they couldVe been 7
But all people want to talk about is United, who are already jumping on themselves after a win now
Yep
If you're a City fan, you've got Aguero coming back and you're in touching distance despite a disappointing start without him. They will definitely go up a level once he's fit enough to be starting every week
However, I do think we will step it up in the face of any pressure... But we could have a healthy gap right now. It's disappointing but we've had a lot taken out of us this season.
On the strength of tonight would be more worried by Villa
..
The Manchester Guardian with an absolute fecking shithouse review of the game.
..

Football is big business and where there is big business there is corruption and money. The only deluded ones are the ones who somehow believe the league isn't effected by it.
It's in this leagues business interest to have United winning and doing well, it's good for viewing figures, advertisers, clicks etc... etc...
Var is the perfect tool to shape what happens on the pitch and create interest in that business model.
This all day. Its fecking bent. It may as well be WCW now.
..
Grealish is having a peak Hazard type season. As an LFC fan the diving gives us something to slate but if he was playing for us nobody would give a shit. Spuds not paying the £25m will be hilarious if this is now his normal level of playing. For the Euros, considering how nobody will have any legs left, Southgate would be smart if he spends two weeks working on set pieces, defend in numbers then just kick it to Grealish to win fouls and free kicks.
Grealish is a player we would love here, protects the ball as good or better than any of our lot. He is literally the most fouled player in the league, so like Hazard if he has to fall down easily or protect himself, I can’t knock him, what did Maradona or Van Basten get from being ‘Honest’ players, most likely shorter careers, if you dribble more than anyone else, you’ll get kicked more than anyone else, and fall more than anyone else also.

I see no problem with it mostly, unless of course he dives and wins a penalty against us
Grealish is a good player but is his passing quick enough for us? He may look good for Villa but I have no idea if he would be effective for us. He is a good player though.
Yes he passes at the right time mostly, he has a similar style to Keita or even Jones, he would dribble less here I feel surrounded by the likes of Salah Mane and co.
He wouldn't get half the free kicks he's getting now if he was playing for Liverpool.
Probably get sent off for diving if he played for us.

its particularly funny when sky flashed up the pen stats this season I think during the Wolves game and Leicester had 8, us 4 and Liverpool 5. I guess we are on 5 now as well.

I was actually surprised by the stat because the pundits and social media have made such a fuss of our pens and not a peep about Liverpool and Leicester having had more.

My Liverpool-supporting prick of a boss hasn't said a peep on Whatsapp for almost a month now. That alone tells me they're at least a little concerned.
United as a club only exist when losing...always said that.

Whilst I still think we'll fall off a proper challenge and it will end up being City and them too 2, they should be really worried seeing as every time they're in a battle they bottle it. They won last year when they absolutely stormed it and no one was close. Once the pressures on, the scousers have form for crumbling. Even their CL win had to come against a 2nd tier team. Against a real big team in the final, they couldn't hack it.

i just don’t get how that wasn’t a penalty. It’s a foul anywhere else on the pitch and was between a yellow and a red card for me

I've missed all this conspiracy talk. Liverpool and City really do have the most small time fans, victim mentality runs right through their club.

before the game..
whats all this 'joint top' stuff I'm hearing? theyll go 2nd
yeah, funny that isn't it. We kept getting it rammed down our throats we we 2nd when 'joint top' with Spurs.
Yet with this lot, if they beat Villa, it'll be "3pts clear if they win their game in hand"
It's always been The Daily Manc. And I stopped buying it about 25 years ago.
Their best player, Dive Penalty, is fit again and will lead the line. His brother, Cheat, is on the bench.
Today is not just a game.
It is theatre. The culmination of a dream.
The swan song, the perfect ballet performance, the most excuisite emotions portrayed in an acting performce never experienced before.
Dives, screams, theatrics, we are going to have it all. And ITS LIVE.
Fernandes v Grealish
Let the dive count in this match commence.
The beginning of a new year, the year of the new champions, making the game an art form.
Too bad they have Michael Oliver for a ref, the PMGOL didn't think that through.
during the game..
Dive Penalty will run away with the Golden Boot this season, no one comes even close.
You can't fault United for the hard work on the training ground.
Dive Dive Dive Dive.
Like run dem laps.
But much more productive.
Pogba playing a blinder in the dive match to come up trumps. Better than Bruno!
after the game..
I see Penalty FC are joint top.
42 penalties in two years.
and Harry Kane has claimed every one of them.
There’s been so much awful shit, that I just don’t understand how it’s been allowed to happen, in the last few years or so so of course it’s entirely likely that a side not fit to lace the boots of any league champion of the last few decades ends up winning this league. And probably with a shite points total just two seasons after we finish 2nd with a total they could only dream of.
It’s incredible. They should be nowhere near. They ought to be nowhere near come May. But we’re living through some mad times.
I can’t believe the luck they are getting. I’ve always thought it’s been unsustainable but it’s almost a year of it now. Fernandes has scored 16 penalties since arriving. Zero injuries this season too.
Stark contrast to us.
Still in 4 competitions.
Except the CL.
I guess a positive from this is that it should give our players added motivation
These still not challenging us for the title, then?
It’s January and they are joint top with us. They are clearly challenging us.
If Utd does go on to win it's our own fault. We've thrown away 9 points this season. Games, even with injuries, that we should be winning.
Is it wrong that I'll be cheering on City this Sunday against Chelsea.
Need someone to stop Utd!
They will stop themselves soon enough.
Unfortunately they are definitely title challengers. Their form is crazy and whilst Fernandes is playing the way he is, they'll pick up points.
Big 3 points needed against Southampton. Don't want to be second by the time we play these lot.
I don't get why people are still so astounded by them getting dodgy penalties, they've been getting them since Sky invented football, it's never going to change, and they're not the only cheats in the league, but they are the worst, Fernandes is a disgrace, as is Kane.

Or the fact that Salah has made an art form out of blurring the lines between diving and drawing fouls in the box.

Red Cafe is the best fan forum around. In the other forums, the amount of grown men believing there is a conspiracy in football makes you believe these forums are filled with teenagers.

I can’t handle the myopic view. I can admit that Ashley Young has dived. Wayne Rooney did it too. I don’t think Dan James dives nearly as much as people think but he does seek to go down at times I would say.

I thought exactly this when Traore won that free kick in the first time. Nailed on booking for James that.

Indeed.
Not to mention how accommodating RedCafe is of other team supporters as well. To the point, where many other team supporters prefer to be on here instead of their own club's forum, but I digress.

Is this real? We're actually on par with Liverpool in terms of penalties? To be honest, I thought we're much higher up.
This just confirms their delusion and obsession with us even more. Someone ought to go on RAWK and highlight this fact for them. :smirk:

Fernandes has the most punchable face in the league and the way he dives/acts/screams on the pitch every game is maddening. Would love to see Robbo go into a 50-50 with him near the touchline and send him into the stands. He’s one of the first names on the team-sheet of my starting XI of most detestable players in the league. Might even give him the armband.
Wish he was shite and not a brilliant footballer.
brilliant?, lolol, OK sure
It’s mad the penalties they get, when Sadio Mane can’t buy one while having a goalie hanging onto his leg
What a shit league the premier league is, with so little to enjoy from watching it, thanks in no small part to the absolutely dreadful officiating week in week out.
Any contact they have they fall to the floor. Luckiest team bar none.
They have their own bit of momentum at the moment, we have to seize some for ourselves starting on monday night. I agree I think our better squad will pay dividends overall, but the sooner we manage to get a run going, the less people will panic hopefully.
I think if we beat Southampton and then these lot then we are winning it. Anything less than a win on Monday and the match against these becomes a lot more tricky.
Make no mistake they look dangerous. Beating them on the 17th very important . Like the spurs match it might really derail their season
They're all in at the mo. At the top of their game whilst we are misfiring. It doesn't get any better for them, they do not have another gear. I'd say we are in about 3rd gear, getting the revs up. We'll do to them what they did to us in 09 and it will be fecking glorious. Fakt
"Next years their year"
Thiago v Fernandes. Our boy will be just hitting his stride by then...
Id put money on Fernandes doing him in a tackle early doors
Ey, Thiago's no shrinking violet, mate
Solskjaer is doing a brilliant job here! Another two seasons with the handbrake on, folks.
These are not the droids/trophies you’re looking for (in fact, can they win a league cup maybe?)
Reality is they are 2 points behind us and they are supposedly gash.
And now on par with us.
Point being ?
Point being we are not taking our points where they should be taken. 2 points out of the last 6 is reality.
And MancU are grinding out their results. Not a good sign , is it?
In spite of many laughing at Ole, the have pretty good individuals. In the hands of Klopp, they would be racing up the charts. Lets hope Ole mucks them up.
It's January the 1st. Despite Gary Neville popping the champers and United celebrating like they've won the title tonight, no such thing has happened. Momentum can come and go anywhere, get a win on Monday night and we have every chance of beating them and gaining our own momentum
.
Bookies know the score - we are 2.62, City 2.92 and United....6.8.
Long road ahead.
We’re spending far too much time worrying about these now
You didn’t hear us In here or the media doing this about villa. Had villa got the dodgy pen instead of United tonight, which they could’ve done Given Grealishs bullshit, villa would be better off than United in the league
And United didn’t smash us 7-2
United are a Pogba dive better than villa in the league
Every year the same shit with different teams. I mean we aren’t actually at the usual New Year’s Day point yet. It’s usually 21st or so game. That’s 5 weeks time, I think People also forget this
16 games is usually mid December
Just seen the score. How many pens have these buggers gotten all season.
All being said though, we have caused our own downfall last few games. Finishing in the West Brom game was abysmal and we’ve let the rest back into contention. Hey ho, is what it is - time for us to start raising our levels

How can those lot talk about diving with Salah and Mané being two of the worse culprits in the league? Salah is the ultimate diver with minimal contact.

Take a break people. Go and watch THE LAWMAN on Sky Sports. A great programme about a proper United legend and a time when football was fair and square (at least in this country) and VAR and shit co-commentators didn't exist.
I'd sooner dip my balls in acid & not the good kind.

This one makes me laugh. Half our attack and midfield are out of form but we're apparently at the top of our game, poor Martial's only got 2 goals in the league and we still don't have a right winger! Whatever helps them sleep at night, I suppose. You'd think they'd have a bit more respect for a win against Villa considering what Villa did to them earlier in the season.

Haha. They couldn’t even admit how good we were when we were actually good for more than 2 decades. It was all because red nose was paying the FA. So don’t expect them to give us any credit now when we have not even won anything (and even if we do, it will still only be because of luck and blah).

Funny reading rawk comments in the last few years. You would think they have been untouchable for decades. The apparent Lallana that scores penalties for us, making the difference again. Victim fc are being dismissive but we are up there.
