where is that happening? I like pointing out hypocrisy.

Sounds more like a cult tbh.
Sounds more like a cult tbh. There’s nothing wrong with thinking there are issues at the club and with the squad.
I don’t care about sentiment. Class of 92’s come once a lifetime. Our last title win was spearheaded by a Dutchman, our last CL by a Portuguese. It doesn’t matter to me if our team is all British or no homegrown at all. I only care about if you’re good enough to take us back to the top. We had local lad Lingard playing 10 for us & we were midtable, we brought in Portuguese Bruno & got 3rd. How many scousers were in the Liverpool team that won the league? One, Trent, because he’s good enough. There’s a reason why Flanagan, Spearing, Kelly, etc aren’t there anymore.
That is why the forum quality deteriorates though.I think we should all stop caring. Post something negative if that's the way you feel, be positive if you want. However if coming to this forum and reading negativity affects you in a bad way, you should take a break from the caf or just leave.
You do. Wumminator is the one who decides what is right and what is wrong. So what he says is the holly true. By that; he is top red. You are not. Leave Caf. Abandon United. So, it's OK to say that Jose Mourinho didn't get "the United way" and should be sacked, but it's not OK to think that Ole Gunnar isn't "good enough" for the job.
Because that's literally the only difference between your topics and post on Mourinho and other posts on Ole.
Or am i missing the point?
Because I’m from Manchester & my family do. It’s not as simple as choosing a team, there was no choice. I couldn’t support another team, sure, I could pretend to, but deep down I’d still support United. It’s all I’ve ever known. Why do you support United? I feel like some on here would rather finish 2nd with a team of academy graduates then win with a team of foreigners. All I want is for United to be on top winning trophies. The nationality or background of the players is irrelevant to me.If you don’t care for sentiment and only care about winning, then why support United at all?
That's what the OP answered to me, so that's exactly what the thread is about. I didn't bring Solskjaer into it.
That's pushing it a bit isn't it? I mean you being a Manchester lad. I'm the same, born in Withington Hospital, had no choice (not that I regret it mind). Must admit homegrown players, and not necessarily those born in Manchester, are a bit special. Greenwood's development makes it more interesting if you know what I mean. Rashford coming from Wythenshawe isn't my favourite player just for what he does on the pitch either. Look at what Phil Foden's doing at city. Amongst all those big signings and big names and him, fom Stockport becoming a regular. Fantastic achievement! The only problem is, he plays for city and not us!Because I’m from Manchester & my family do. It’s not as simple as choosing a team, there was no choice. To be fair im almost certain City will be Foden’s dream club. All of Stockport is City territory. That's pushing it a bit isn't it? I mean you being a Manchester lad. I don’t know because we wouldn’t be Manchester United anymore & we’d be playing in the Irish league so it wouldn’t be the same club. I’d probably just stop watching football. The type of players I like are dying out anyway, we’re in the pace & power age now. You barely see flair players who make you leap out of your seat any more. I definitely wouldn’t support City. How would you feel if two Norwegians bought the club and built a new stadium in Dublin, changing the name to Europe United? At what point would sentiment set in? Or would you just shrug and head for Etihad?
Why do we have to give the local lads more leeway? That makes no sense. I judge every player equally when it comes to representing my club. It’s weird how left wing redcafe gets so nationalist when talking about the United squad. People who criticise the players or manager simply want the club to be better. What you’re asking for here is blind faith, sometimes people just aren’t good enough for the size & expectations of the club. Players like Dan James for example clearly are not good enough & it’s extremely unlikely he ever will be. If we took your approach the likes of Cleverley & Welbeck would still be starting for us. This “support the lads” attitude just looks like a lack of ambition to me. The players & the manager are expendable replaceable employees, my support is for the club.
Thank you.
Second person in this thread who has said that they come on the forum less because of the negativity.
I am like you. And i don't know why is that a crime here on Caf? Rating skill over passion i mean.To be fair im almost certain City will be Foden’s dream club. All of Stockport is City territory.
I was born in withington hospital too haha! But no, honestly it doesn’t really bother me how many local lads we have in the team. I’ve always looked at it as just who so I enjoy watching. I loved watching Scholes & Beckham as a kid without even thinking about them being academy lads, then as a teenager it was Ronaldo & Rooney, over the last few years it’s been Pogba & Martial (when in form obviously nowhere near as consistant as the previous lot) I just really like technical flair players, which is why player like McT who the caf love don’t really appeal to me, obviously I hope he performs, but I don’t look forward to seeing him play. I know I’m in the minority but I just don’t care about having a strong academy presence in the team. I’m not against it either, but it’s not something I see as important.
Did Busby, did Fergie have 'Utd DNA' when they joined? Of course they didnt. If Mourinho had have pulled off his usual trick of winning the league when he was here, would he have had 'Utd DNA' then? By the way i am not a Mourinho fan, just putting a point across.Isn't this exactly what Bobby Charlton thought? Isn't this exactly what was proven to be true? Didn't we see why Mourinho wasn't a man befitting our football club?
I've yet to see anyone post a thread where I've proven myself a hypocrite. The example so far is where I made a thread criticising someone who was playing poor football, criticising the way the United manager was openly courting other jobs and criticising a manager who didn't play youth.
If you look at that and think 'He didn't properly know what United is about'... then I worry for you.

People who read this thread will see the standard of this post and then the standard of posts who agree with me and will be able to make their own minds up.And they said football has nothing to do with politics.
The thread is indeed making football, politics.
Here's a bright fecking idea for the not so smart.
People can do whatever the feck they want, whether it concerns your petty little head or not.
Is anybody's life being threatened? No.
Is anybody getting hurt? No.
Is someone going to have a different opinion, viewpoint and approach to you?
Yes.
If you can't accept that, maybe the best place for you is in a pineapple under the sea.
These threads are becoming seriously exhausting now.
It may be a wrong way to support a club, but it certainly isn't a right way.
It's what fits you as a person that is the right way.
In actual words, "People who agree with me are right and the rest are wrong, because I am unable to accept alternative opinions because I have the mindset of a 5 year old who's trying to explain to everyone why my way is better than theirs, so I gather everyone who agrees into a screaming contest".People who read this thread will see the standard of this post and then the standard of posts who agree with me and will be able to make their own minds up.

Grow up.

There is a correct way to support a football club. That is obvious. You don’t wear half and half scarves. You don’t wear Fellaini hats in the stadium. You don’t sit there on your phone all game. You don’t tut when others around you sing a song.
This would all be relatively accepted.
I have posted people on this thread who have posted constant shite. Constant. Eventually, some people will try and get a semblance of a decent conversation back. That isn’t crying, it’s the adults in the room saying “listen, this isn’t good enough-we need to be better.”
quite frankly if you think posts calling Ole the worst manager in the world, a fraud and an embarrassment are fine; if you think nicknames such as Rashford, Rashbeck, Carsick, O’Shit etc etc are alright names to call our players; and if you don’t understand why playing homegrown players means more then others than simply you’re doing it wrong.
I don't agree with it, but it's still not for me to say. Have to say, I tend to avoid this forum when United lose for a couple of days because the level of hatred is astounding. Unfortunately, that now seems to be creeping in when we draw now.How many more people need to say they’re not posting here because of how relentlessly negative others are before people start reflecting on their own actions?
I personally get tired of the petty arguments in the performance threads regardless of results but from my perspective whilst you & some others may turn off, loses/draws look to engage more members.Have to say, I tend to avoid this forum when United lose for a couple of days because the level of hatred is astounding. Game.Set.Match.The OP started a different thread with these words last August.
"So I’ve been in my job for a few years now and I’ve noticed that other people continually get promoted ahead of me."
By opening this thread and proclaiming with such certainty how a proper supporter should behave, they may have unwittingly identified one of the contributing factors behind their lack of career progression.
Dale Carnegie may be able to help.
