I cringe everytime he tries something attacking - it's just not his thing and never will be.
It's not some nefarious plan to let him have it. It's their formation - 5-3-2, which gives our full backs space. That he found space and the ball a lot today was a testament to the effort he put in. He was probably our best player today.
His confidence and appetite to go forward was encouraging, he's clearly developing at the moment.
Plays every game, absolutely no rivalry on his position... That right side is so neglected, it's doing my head in.
I think oddly in the first half he was one of our better players going forward. Mind you that means absolutely nothing when everyone else was so shocking
The space given to him compared to Telles and later Shaw was night and day.
Par being solid defensively and offering absolutely nothing in attack. They purposely left him huge space because he can’t do anything with it. It’s a massive disadvantage having him on the pitch in that situation.
How many times have you seen Telles or Shaw that free repeatedly in a game? You don’t because they are closed down instantly to stop the cross.
Well, he had another tackle/cross move which was funny to see. Only player in the world who tackles ball when it is in his feet.
Could have had an assist, the dribble and pullback to Rashford was good, which he put narrowly wide. Had a good first half, but poor in the 2nd.
Telles wasn’t pushing on at all. Matic had to tell him to go forward. Wan Bissaka always tries to get forward in support but because of this reputation that he’s a crap attacker he gets criticised no matter what.
The best thing a opposition manager could do is give this guy all the time and space in the world.

He gets forward because there’s tonnes of space there, that isn’t there on the left. It’s irrelevant where he is on the pitch, because he can’t do anything with the ball. Even his over/under lapped runs are mistimed, and most of the time just mean there’s an extra defender in the way of whoever has the ball.
It’s so bad that it’s effecting whoever is playing ahead of him to. Greenwood only looks effective in the box, Rashford hasn’t played well there, Pogba was awful against Liverpool.
Maybe I’m completely misreading it, but it would be interesting to see what would happen with someone like Trippier there.

It was evident from the first min what Wilder's plan was. Have the wing back track Mason... cram midfielders in the middle to screen centre halves... put pressure on our left side to stop the ball coming in... and the only way they could do that is by allowing AWB a whole side of the pitch to himself...
And they were completely happy to do it. Because they knew he has absolutely nothing to offer going forwards.

He tried let’s have patience.
It's clutching at straws but that is the one positive about him going forward. He can be lazy defensively but I think he does try his best going forward, it's just not very effective.
Had some good moments including tricks and more fluent buildup passing with Greenwood. Didnt have much to do defensively so didnt have his usual amount of tackles and defensive contributions
I think we need to replace him or at least have someone putting pressure on him. Sheff Utd, like most teams let him have the ball. He’s a glaring weak link in attacking phases.
He may not be the best or most productive but at least he gives 100%, which is about 90% more than some gave tonight!

The pullback cross that led to the shot from the edge of the box that went wide? I'm not sure that constitutes a great chance.
That looked harder to miss than go wide. Rashford was right bang in the centre and he didnt even get it on target.
Why wouldn't it? He found Rashford in space in a perfect position. Rahsford simply needed to pick his spot better.
Really? He was wide by about half a foot, he had the keeper covering one half of the goal and a defender sprawled covering the other. He went for the right corner but missed and not by much.
Give over! He hit it first time and missed by a few inches with the goalkeeper and a player covering the majority of the goal.
This is not about whether Rashford should have done better or not which is a valid debate in itself. The point is, that was as a good a chance as we got yesterday and AWB deserves credit.
He is good at slide tackling and blocking....but that is not enough. Most of the times these are recovery tackles due to his poor positioning, he has horrible tendecy to ball watch.
Going forward he is horrible and last night he was very poor again, couldnt fault his effort, the lad was trying unlike some of the other lazy prima donnas.
For me if Trippier is available on loan id snap him up.
I'm sorry, but that's a half-chance from a simple and unpressured pullback in which he acres of space to make. It's basic stuff and the minimum we should expect from our fullback. Your original point was that while [the poster] may not like Wan-Bissaka's style, it is effective. I think that's rubbish. He's demonstrated for a year and a half that he's inept going forward. He was slightly better last night but that's more to do with the bar being so slow for him contributing effectively, that basically anything is an improvement.
When he gets forward and finds himself in position to cross i don't think that he knows what he is doing. It looks so unnatural
I thought he did alright. No assist but I was more impressed with him than Telles. At least the guy made 4 dribbles attempted and 2 of them were successful. Watching Trent recently and also Telles, I appreciated Bissaka’s intention to try take on his opponent by dribble past them, that’s part of making progressive move on the ball. Much better than trying to pass the ball backward because players like Trent or Telles are cowards or they just don’t have the ability to dribble.

I kinda feel like he was our best player yesterday. Thought going forward he was pretty good. He was no Dani Alves but certainly looked like there was much improvement in his attacking play. Can still get better at crossing and picking his passes and timing but looked better. Should have taken that shot first time instead of a touch mind.
He currently has one goal and one assist. Trent has 2 assists, Cancelo has 2 assists and a goal, James Justin has 2 assists and a goal, Reece James has 2 assists and a goal, Walker-Peters has 2 assists, Bellerin has 3 assists, Matty Cash has 2 assists, Lamptey has 3 assists and a goal, Aurier has 2 goals and an assist, Coufal has 3 assists. I know he is really frustrating in the opposition's half, because he always turns back inside and passes it into midfield - it was really noticeable how much space the Sheffield United players gave him yesterday because of his style of play.
Of course I would love to see him run to the by-line and put crosses in.
Unfortunately he can't do that though because we don't have an established right-winger who he can work in tandem with, with overlapping runs and covering each others' positions.
He's good at tackling, though he does need to work on his positional play - that way he won't have to make those nervy last-ditch tackles.
I think we will see Wan-Bissaka's attacking play come into it's own, once we sign an established right-winger.
