No worries, I was expecting that too happen actually. Thiago in the EPL is a bit like cooking beef tenderloins in a microwave. 90% of fans in here still don't recognize a great midfield performance unless the player scores a long range screamer, plays a few long range passes and excels at slide tackles. Good old kick'n'rush days :)

This is the most Bundesliga comment I've ever read.

I made it more Bundelesliga

Gute alte Kick'n'Rush-Tage

I think his first game was more a case of people wanting him to have been good, rather than thinking he actually was. Just like we did with Schweinsteiger.
It was sure strange to see some United fans fawning over him because they were annoyed we didn’t get him. Straightaway, I saw that the guy is genuinely nothing special. Obviously a good midfielder who can pass it around and dribble, but not much more. Put it this way, I’d much rather Carrick in my team. That’s a guy who really dictates the tempo.

Agreed. I don’t doubt that Thiago would look nice and fancy in a team that was dominating, but I don’t see anything in him that suggests he himself could be the reason a team dominates.

I was one of those that felt he would be amazing for Liverpool or for us if we got him. It hasn't happened but I think it's reasonable to expect him to be better than this.

I actually think he would be amazing for us. Thiago with Fred and Scott with Bruno behind a front 2 would be an upgrade to what we have now.

Seems like he's taken over from Lukaku as best pointer in the league

Yeah, and yet we have a Bundesliga fan here (shock) telling us how we all don’t know football because we can’t appreciate Thiago’s Mark Noble impression. Seriously @Zehner Harry Maguire has been more progressive in his attacking play this season.

Yeah I expected him to be better too. Ineffectual would be an apt word to describe his season so far.

I remember all the Thiago fanboys on here having a wankfest before he signed for the Dippers.. some even continued after he signed for them.. They've clearly got issues that need attention..

Those same fanboys came in their underpants when we played them. World class performance for 20 minutes, apparently.

Clearly he needs more time to settle in but he has been bang average so far.
Think it's a style thing. Thiago is a very good player, but not a good fit for Klopp's system. Think he'd be excellent for us, actually.

No white text? Pogba
Really? Pogba has really dug in this season when it has got tough and we have really missed him in the last couple of league games to get us over the line. He’s scored the winning goal in two 1-0 wins recently and his range of passing and work rate (yes, his work rate) are streets ahead of the fingerer.

He's a nothing player with a fancy way of passing it a few yards sideways. Completely pointless every time I've watched him play.

And I thought he would walk Liverpool to the league. Happy to be wrong.

Ok, so I don't watch German football so I never really seen this guy play much outside of the Champions League. But is he one of those players that only the "purists" can appreciate, or is he a genuinely great player who just happens to not fit in at Liverpool? Because when I did watch him in the Champions League he just never stood out at all. Small sample size, I know.

The irony is, He is still exactly what we need.

We dont control games at all.
I thought so at first too, but having watched him a good bit now I think he’d be a disaster in our midfield.

So far for pool he does a lot but achieves little, early days though and there is player there. Not very likable though is he? not really relevant i guess. Pogba has gone whole seasons which you could describe the same way? not ideal having to persever with ´world class´ players

But wait, isn't it more Bundesliga to show off incidentally that you can write in good idiomatic English even though it's not your first language?

He had brilliant game, it's just usual PL fans don't know how to rate a midfielder.

I am quite surprised that his passes are usually sideways and simple ones than ambitious, penetrating ones into the box. I think their midfield misses Henderson's passes.
And his introduction has led to Gini going a lot deeper.
I am not sure what he has brought to the team so far.

Bayern knows when to sell/let go

If they come and offer us Lewandowski tomorrow, you know he'll turn out to be 2014 Falcao.

Nothing, it's that simple. Curtis Jones has been playing better than him but somehow always ends up being subbed.
