In a well-ordered universe...
QB happily demands/takes 10-20% of team's cap, complains team won't retain/sign players.

Harsh. He did alright. Should get a nice comp pick for him too.Andy Dalton signing with Chicago. As a Cowboy fan i can say thank god
Was kind of hoping they’d sign Fuller to complete a Texans trifecta, but this will give Kyler a safety net in case Fitz retires.Cardinals will be even more fun to watch next year

Would love to see him in Denver.@Rado_N You seen this one yet? The bit about it being between SF and Denver for Watson would kind of prove me wrong about Carolina being the eventual destination, but I am not too bothered about that.
What?Wow what is going on with Deshaun?
He is allegedly accused of three sexual assaults.Wow what is going on with Deshaun?
You shouldn't be either - why give big money to an established name when guys like Waddle will likely still be available at #18 in the draft.Dolphins didn't get Andrews in the end, signed some guy from the Ravens, twitter says he sucks. I guess he was cheap
Seems we won't bother signing a receiver either, the established names all seem to be disappearing
I highly doubt the likes of Curtis Samuel signed huge deals. You shouldn't be either - why give big money to an established name when guys like Waddle will likely still be available at #18 in the draft.
Haven't followed the news closely but I like Lindsay a lot. I thought he got some sort of tender?I’m still sulking about the Philip Lindsay news.
Local lad, fan favourite, hugely successful first two seasons, pro bowler as an undrafted rookie which has never happened before, then Elway talks about rewarding him with a contract but instead goes out and signs Gordon and pays him $16m and Lindsay gets left on the sidelines too much then insulted with a shitty tender before being let go.
Could have kept him for a fraction of what we’re paying Gordon.
Just a boneheaded move all around.
They withdrew it under mutual agreement to allow him to hit free agency.Haven't followed the news closely but I like Lindsay a lot. I thought he got some sort of tender?

This is what I've heard on NY sports radio too.Local radio in Tampa had Roger & JP on this afternoon and they were discussing the Watson stuff. Coincidental or conspiracy, and perhaps there is truth in the allegations, or maybe a Texas-sized "feck you, get back on the plantation" from the white guy to the black guy.
The attorney representing the girls, as apparently there are now three and supposedly three more coming forward, is by his own admission a neighbor (or was) of the Texans owner. https://dailysnark.com/2021/03/17/t...nst-deshaun-watson-is-texans-owners-neighbor/
And this stuff didn't surface until after they had signed Tyrod Taylor, rather quietly I may add. Which also means they could possibly get out of the Watson contract through morals clauses as this litigation stuff moves forward. This would also give Houston leverage over Watson as no club is likely going to offer a trade with this stuff hanging around.
Roger and JP brought up how this is similar to Steinbrenner paying a person to bring up dirt on Dave Winfield in the late 80s when the latter vetoed trades per the 10/5 rule and also sued his owner for failure to make charitable contributions as cited in the contract. https://www.azsnakepit.com/2011/4/18/2095444/baseballs-greatest-scandals-steinbrenner-winfield
This is going to get interesting.
I read about that. But I don’t see why the Texans would pull a stunt like that when it could ultimately hurt them, unless they are just that petty and vindictive. Which, knowing the competence of the two guys at the top, may not be out of the question I suppose.Local radio in Tampa had Roger & JP on this afternoon and they were discussing the Watson stuff. I think it’s an easy thing to allege with everything going on. I doubt they’d do that too but....I read about that. The number of plaintiffs is up to 9 last I checked. At this rate it could merit a Current Events forum thread eventually.Apparently there is now a 4th lawsuit?
Jebus is this keeps up Watson will get out of Houston after all.
That's already three more than Cuomo at last count. The number of plaintiffs is up to 9 last I checked. At this rate it could merit a Current Events forum thread eventually.
Well he has hired a very expensive lawyer that specialises in letting rich sportsmen get away with things, so that might decide the issue in the end.The number of plaintiffs is up to 9 last I checked. At this rate it could merit a Current Events forum thread eventually.
The guy prosecuting the case is also a high profile lawyer. Quite a character (asshole) supposedly, but has won some big cases.Well he has hired a very expensive lawyer that specialises in letting rich sportsmen get away with things, so that might decide the issue in the end.
6, 7 more than Biden? That's already three more than Cuomo at last count.
I started a rant post about it last week but gave up, I was way too emotional. Those guys are pretenders, they act as if they want to win but then take for themselves the money that should go to key players that can help them win.QB happily demands/takes 10-20% of team's cap, complains team won't retain/sign players.
