Fans were saying the same about Madrid a few years ago with their youth drive.Looks as if they quietly secured their future in the span of half a year. This could be the axis of the upcoming decade:
---Fati--------------------?-------------------------Trincao--- Dembele
------------Pedri-----------------Moriba/Puig-------------
-----------------------De Jong----------------------------------
--?-----------Mingueza--Araujo---------------Dest----- Firpo
-----------------------------?---------------------------------------
This squad even is quite adaptable. Could go all in on tiki taka with Pedri. Puig, de Jong in midfield or they could add a box to box element with Moriba. If Dembele comes good, he could replace Trincao.
La Masia bailed the out like a cheat code again. And they also still got Ter Stegen, Griezmann, Lenglet playing short to mid term, maybe even longer.
Bartomeu gone and Laporta in as well.
Real Madrid was earlier in the process. They never integrated their youth players into the first team. But de Jong, Fati, Dest, Pedri, Mingueza and Araujo are already starters, they've made the most difficult step. The only players who started for Madrid back then were Vinicius and maybe Valverde. Hakimi, Diaz, Ödegaard, Jovic, Ceballos and Reinier never got that far before they had to leave. Rodrygo and Militao aren't that established either. Madrid had brillant perspective but didn't manage to get the best out of those youngsters. Koeman does that brillantly for Barca at the moment, and he is even willing to send a few star players to the bench for that (Coutinho, Pjanic, even Griezmann at times).Fans were saying the same about Madrid a few years ago with their youth drive.

Doesnt really change the fact Perez was hailed as some forward thinking genius for all of the young players they signed and now its seen as a disaster window.Real Madrid was earlier in the process. Riqui is key for me. He's not got as many minutes this season as the others but when he finally gets the minutes alongside de Jong and Pedri, it'll be a treat. Also forgot to mention their non-academy youngsters who starts for them this season:
- Pedri (undisputed starter at 18 years of age and the most capped player this season for Barca)
- Sergiño Dest
- Ronald Araújo
I think that's result oriented thinking. It was the right course at the time. Madrid were pretty unlucky with how their transfers went out. That's different to Barca, for example, whose big money signings didn't even make sense. I mean, they payedDoesnt really change the fact Perez was hailed as some forward thinking genius for all of the young players they signed and now its seen as a disaster window.
It seems Barca have had 1000 future young 11 players lineups for a decade now and it just hasnt worked out that way. Players either peak early, peak late or just fall off. Progress isnt linear for one player never mind 11 of them at once to the point they can also compete against the elite
Puig is class. Loved him last season and was totally expecting him to do well. Unfortunately, Koeman doesn't seem to be his biggest fan. Pedri, Puig and Moriba - just unreal.Riqui is key for me. Rumours abound that Barca might be in for Aguero at the end of the season. Hell of a partnership for a season or two, that'd be.Barcelona's rebuild is dependent on Laporte coming up with the €800mil credit line he promised. Apparently Messi wont consider signing a new deal until he sees proof of this credit line. If laporte has it and can prove it all bets are off on who Barcelona can sign this summer.
To a degree, yeah, but Puig rejected to be loaned away and remained. To his credit he's gotten more minutes than Koeman originally told him he'd get (which is none lol), and even got on the field instead of Pjanic on a number of occasions. Actually I think next season will be Puig's big breakout.Puig is class. Loved him last season and was totally expecting him to do well. Unfortunately, Koeman doesn't seem to be his biggest fan. Pedri, Puig and Moriba - just unreal.

Yeah, their crisis are not comparable to EPL teams. Chelsea, United, Liverpool can finish mid table in a crisis where as Barcelona lost the league by 5 points, made the CL semis and everyone needs replacingThey might even sneak a league title in what is supposed to be an over the hill team going through a rebuild/transition.
it’s about half as bad as the hazard deal. We are going to try to dump him on arsenalAny rumors going around about Coutinho? Without ever watching Barca, it seems as if there's no place for him there, so you would think they'd want to recoup some of the money they paid. That transfer has to one of the worst for the buying club in history.
Aguero is injury prone, old whereas depay is 5 years younger and much cheaper. So latest seems to be that the funding that Laporta (as any Barcelona persident) needs to put up financial guarantees for 15% of Barcelonas budget for the next year, €126mil. This wasn't supposed to be a problem, but the man providing the funding joao mergiro has stepped away and resigned his position. A problem for Laporta.
Also Messi wants the money hes owned (Barcelona owe Messi €60mil in back payments). Also Messi doesn't want to take a paycut on any new deal.
Koeman wants Depay over Aguero on a free. God only knows why.

Yeah, forgot about him. But those two have to be the worst when considering cost and impact on the field. I'm still surprised by Coutinho's lack of success as I loved him at Liverpool and was sure he was the perfect Barca player.it’s about half as bad as the hazard deal. it seems coutinho griezman and Messi all like to occupy the same space on the pitch. I had high hopes for coutinho and am surprised how everything played out. I knew we purchased him to fund a CL winning team. Just didn’t realize it was going to be in liverpoolYeah, forgot about him. I hope we can mooch some of them like we did with Jurado in the summer.Barca have a substantial depth, but with their status and brand they can get out of most of it. Especially when they get Messi off their books in the summer or in 2-3 years.
For them the challenge will be to stay competitive.
They can’t buy world class players such as Haaland.
They’ll have to rely on their youth, including their academy La Masia.
Luckily for them they have their best generation since the Messi, Pique, Fabregas-generation.
Keep an eye on:
- Ansu Fati
- Illaix Moriba
- Gavi (the most talented; he will be even better than Pedri)
- Alejandro Balde
- Alejandro Orellana
- Konrad de la Fuente

Quick check told me he won the Domenstic Supercup in 2014/2015.. But apart from that you are right indeed! That’s Griezemann’s first domestic medal isn’t it?
He won the secunda division with Sociedad, so no it's not his first domestic medal.Quick check told me he won the Domenstic Supercup in 2014/2015.. But apart from that you are right indeed!

Aguero and Messi never had a great partnership for Argentina did they? Which is a shame because he was a hell of a player in prime. Even some of his goals before he moved to City were mental.FTFY

That’S a good one. Get rid of the best player in the world. How do they rebuild? They have to do it without Messi. Simple
Yeh because i said to sell him didnt i. They can't rebuild properly until he goes, the money saved would be astronomical. Not hard concept to graspThat’S a good one. Get rid of the best player in the world.
What about the money they'd lose from not having him around? Both on and off the pitch. When you're negotiating with potential sponsors, being able to point to having the best player in the world on your team must help. Same goes for tourists coming to their stadium, just to watch Messi play.Yeh because i said to sell him didnt i. They can't rebuild properly until he goes, the money saved would be astronomical.
