What has further disgusted me is both the Liverpool manager and captain have come out publicly against the Super League abomination. Jordan Henderson spoke on behalf of the players as a "collective position" putting pressure on the American owners. What about the United equivalents Ole and Maguire?? Absolutely nothing. Deafening silence.

Anyone know if theres any truth to £100mil fine for each club that pulls out of ESL?
That is probably less than one season in the CL so most of the clubs will be okay but spurs and arsenal not so much

Most likely there will be no fine because the competition didn't start yet, there are no real details about it only vague ones. Lawyers of those clubs will make sure they won't pay a penny.

This has been a fecking crazy 48 hours . And they say football isn’t entertaining. You could make a reality TV series out of the nobbiness of these club owners and CEOs.

Ole doesnt have the gravitas behind him that has been earnt by Klopp and Guardiola by winning stuff. Thats probably why. Wants to keep his job (and i want him to keep it as well). Whereas liverpool and city wouldnt dare sack klopp and guardiola respectively.

I voted "YES" for the ESL because:

1. I'm sick of VAR, the lack of consistency of English referees. I'm honestly tired of being frustrated with the lack of accountability with refereeing
You think we'll somehow get better refs when the European refs of late have not been much better. And that's your main point!?!?!

2. I lost interest in watching Manutd games against the likes of Granada, Burnley, Cyrstal Palace, etc. I find myself always scrolling through Instagram during these small team games. During big games against the likes of City, Liverpool and Chelsea, however, I'm fully emotionally invested. And I like that feeling. So hopefully the ESL can bring back my passion for football
So you basically a fair-weather fan who only likes watching 20% of the games in a season? That's fine but don't pretend otherwise because football is about derbies a few times a year, not a few times a month.

3. I'm sick of paying multiple telecommunications hundreds of dollars per month for sports coverage. The ESL can solve this issue by having its own network or partnering up with leading streaming companies such as Netflix, Hulu, or Disney. I do not mind for paying affordable streaming services. Currently, I'm subscribed to Netflix and Disney.
This has got to be the most laughable/gullible of all. How do you think they would finance 4 bn/year? Do you think you'd be paying less for that given the current PL deal is for 1.5bn/season and you are complaining it's too expensive? Do you remember how cheap (free) BT was when they first started ? And you think Disney will be fair to you  Christ on a bike.

From a football fan perspective that does not reside in UK, I don't see any downside to the ESL. I notice that is a lot of talk of "English Pyramid", "Coaches jobs", "Stadium infrastructures investment", "UK tv rights", etc. Not to be insensitive, but none of those are a concern to global football fans that just want to watch the best players compete against each other in a convenient platform at bargain prices.

The stuff that excites me most about football:

1. Watching the best team which also means best players and managers competing against each other
Yeah, you are the Glazers' dream. You are also delusional if you think you'd be supporting the same club if this shitstain of a project ever got off the floor.

2. Transfer market. Imagine trading Bruno Fernandes for Harry Kane. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I think that is what us younger fans want to see. Shocking and exciting transfers. Changing team dynamics, etc
This makes me sick. Sounds like some NFL supporter's wet dream. Absolutely not. And it's not what younger fans want to see, it's what foreign fans who have no appreciation and do not try to understand the football culture in the UK would think would be nice. Or if you play FIFA or Football manager as a way to learn about football.

I think the ESL can provide an outstanding product. I will probably receive backlash for this post. But this is my geniune opinion, and I cannot wait for football to be exciting again. I want to be emotionally invested week in and week out, and that can only happen if the best players in terms of skills and branding are pitted against each other.
Holy shit. I've tried to address the points in the most polite way (believe me).

It's also telling that you are talking of the league as a product. This is a lot more than a product to anyone who supports this club passionately. It's no fecking franchise.

We're all out!

I did say once City and Chelsea pulled out it was all a formality.
Bingo. So it was true City and Chelsea only followed as they pulled out quick. I’m disgusted at us for seemingly being the one of the main culprits of trying to break away

So why hasn’t he been this vocal before? Fans have asked for them to speak out about the reality of our ownership but only now can Souness talks about dividends the Glazers have taken since 2005? Only now can Neville direct his frustration at the Glazers on TV? This is what pisses me off with this situation. It should have been said 15 years ago, not now.
Everyone has their own tipping points. Glad Gary's reached his, at least.
