Yeah I was referring to the result he got more than the difficulty of the snooker. I can't remember seeing so many points from a single snooker.
I don't recall either, it was really bizarre to just throw away the frame so carelessly.

Selby lost it. Bingham really relaxed. Doesn’t seem bothered by Selby’s antics en that’s the way to play him.

Selby on 4 world titles just doesn't sit right with me. Anyone but Selby tbh

Ok this frame has gone on for long enough. That's always the problem if you don't put a frame well beyond Selby's reach.

Edit: thank god for that long pot on the yellow.

Can they really not use technology to make sure the white was put back where it should be?
I actually looked into making this for my final year project at Uni but ended up taking up a pet project for my supervisor instead. My idea was to basically save the state of the previous shot, and use a laser to map where the balls should be put back. I was short of inspiration and my supervisor said it would have been far too easy.

Would've been a good project. It's crazy given how many cameras they must have- too simple for a student, but not the WPBSA.

Projector above the table that maps out every ball 1:1. So you can then project the image down onto the table. Easy.

I wish I had the time and money to do it, I reckon they’d be up for using it if it was made for them.

Yeah we discussed that but the concept we came up with was laser dots which the referee has to line up to the top centre of the ball, which turn off when the ball is perfectly aligned (and back on if alignment is lost) which would be more precise than trying to project onto green baize with coloured balls and a huge lighting rig already illuminating the table which can be easily turned on and off all match.

How is it that the balls can still be placed somewhat further from their original position even when the referees are guided by someone with an overlay? Am I the only one who is annoyed by this?

This last frame has gone very awkward, could be a really late night for them.
For them!? Never mind the thousands watching :D

If this was any other tournament I would have walked away to do something else, but because it's the World Champs I'm glued to this stalemate.

I feel for the referee. His feet must be killing him.

Maybe Mark is just trying to make sure Stuart has a late night so he's tired tomorrow..

Appreciate his dogged attitude but he goes to extreme levels. Pointless continuing on there. Got previous for it too not just tonight.

Where do you draw the line? Do you really need a 20+ point difference compared to what's left on the table for Selby to concede a frame? Just imagine everyone else would do this as frequently as him.

The Selby Bingham match was always gonna be a shitfest tbh. Both are horrible to watch and their pace of play is crap.

You don't draw the line.

Playing for snookers is one of the best parts of snooker.

And anyway, there were reds on the table, of course he'd play, Bingham would too, most would. With one foul one could easily get 10+ points.

I think the match was enthralling despite it being slow.

I've been watching snooker for a good 20 years. No one plays on needing 5 snookers.

That's nonsense. No one, where do you get that? Watched plenty of players playing on with reds in such situations.

Possible outcome is well worth it, as potentially with one foul you could get three snookers.

I think a lot better of players play on to hold up their opponents momentum.. despite it being hopeless

Especially Ronnie who used to easily get wound up by stuff like that
