This match being called off sent a powerful message around the world.

Who would have guessed Carragher would be man of the match

I see nothing coming out of this. Good move from the fans and all that, but Glazers aren't going to sell their cash cow without legit buyers just because fans wanted them too.

Boycotting the games back when fans were allowed into stadiums would have been a better move imo.
When was that?

Diabolical behaviour from several idiots. Anyone who thinks criminal behaviour is more likely to influence the Glazers than peaceful protest is deluded.

They may go easy on the culprits this once but next time they will push for the toughest possible sentence and I would not blame them. In fact I’d rather get rid of dickhead criminal so-called fans than get rid of the Glazers and that’s saying something.

Thats indeed saying something.
I guess throwing a camera and invading a pitch is a lot, lot worse than what Glazers are doing.

Carragher is actually in a way supporting this.
He’s pointing out the broader picture instead of sensationalising the behaviour of a minority.

So many seem to be so happy to just focus on the minority, the news will do exactly this and many here will lap it up and totally miss the fecking point.

Big silver lining if this gets played later on, fans can be there (legitimately!) to see the game. Fantastic

I had put Cavani in, wanted to replace with Rashford, realising that Cavani won't start 2 games in 3 days, but forgot. Hopefully we get to predict again for this match?

You can only hope Klopp is daft enough to pick that defensive partnership again when this is replayed.

You can argue all you want. This goes against expert advice and remains against expert advice. No point trying to argue otherwise. UK is almost at the end of the tunnel. Let's not feck it up.

Is outdoors safer? Yes. Does packing thousands in a protest increase risk of harm? Yes. Does packing thousands in a protest in small areas without masks increase by a lot the risk of harm? Yes.

Did you see the video I quoted earlier? Large groups. No masks. No social distancing.

And all indications from India today indicate their spike in cases was from the political rallies and religious gatherings. All mass public gatherings. Which underlines the risks of mass public gatherings.
How do you explain the mass gatherings in India in 2020 that didn’t lead to a spike in cases? If it just relied on that one variable, with an easily discernible causal relationship, it would always have the same outcome. You have to wilfully ignore the most prominent and relevant evidence to think that the explanation is so simple.

Exactly. And that is the right way to react IMO.

Getting it rescheduled for another day will be just as hard as playing it later this evening.
Yep. Aside from the players not being fuelled up, which could easily be sorted, I'm surprised they didn't get it done tonight.

If they do it tomorrow, we'll just have to get 100s of police in to save the inevitable repeat.

If they move to another date we'll either be punished with 3 games in 6 days, or they'll have to mess another team up to fit it in.

We played the game against Bournemouth 24 hours after the bomb scare didn't we?
Yep.
Tomorrow makes the most sense, as we only have ONE free slot for the rest of the season, but Liverpool already play then.

Looking at that game, Liverpool play West Brom, and WBrom play tomorrow, so they can't even move that to midweek and play us v Liverpool on the free sat,

It hurts only the players, coaches and fans (plus a few policemen and civilians). The Glazers don't care about public opinion, that should be obvious by now. Nothing is achieved. I don't see any upside.
So what would you do ? sit down and watch them take this club to the ground ?

Not ideal when we will be flying out to Rome on Wednesday.
The thing is that tie is won, we can hold some players back.

I'm sure they'll try and get it done tomorrow, I don't think the protests would happen again tomorrow as suddenly Ole and the players could suffer if its postponed twice.

Yeah, that's right, it was the Wednesday.

Except to the players. And Ole. Who nobody actually gives a feck about on here anymore because this all so much more important than them.
Yeah, and i'd understand any player wanting to get out, and i'd welcome it personally. by downside i meant for us and the club on the long term. and re Ole, he's a fan of the club, so he'd definitly understand.
