Seems to have calmed down a bit, he makes mistakes when he gets himself too wound up.
Stick Mount back in somewhere, hope Kane stops playing like he’s won a competition, and this side starts looking like one who can really compete.

I think Southgate wants to give Phillips and Rice a chance to build some chemistry in the early rounds.
When it gets to the likes of France or Germany, those two will be our first choice out of necessity. It's better they get to know each other in the group games.
Scotland need to get more set pieces....Croatia look as dodgy at them as during the last world cup.

Grealish is clearly the better player. Nothing controversial about saying that. I have no problem with Mount starting, because he's a very good player himself and has performed well for England, but the fact that he's an automatic starter was.always bizarre given the options we have available.

In one of the earlier games, I think they mentioned him seeing a psychologist to help him stay calm in matches. Think that's helped.

But they don’t need to be. In games like this you can get away with one of them and two of Foden, Grealish and Mount but in later rounds against top teams you can play Bellingham or Henderson alongside one of them for more protection but also that attacking threat as well.
Better game from England so far. Both teams have played some decent football so far. Still not totally convinced by us but more positive than against Scotland.

I dont mind it if we're playing a 4231 like today. It allows our front four and full backs to be a bit more adventurous - similar to when we play McFred.

He’s been one of our better players in the first 2 games.
Same problem as every other game so far. Move the ball soo slowly and have no midfielder capable of passing the ball.
Attack is better and more fluid. Kane has played better. Grealish is showing how stupid the decision was not to pick him. Saka has been good. Sterling has been decent.

The passing between the CMs, defence, and goalkeeper is too slow. They are dallying on the ball and have almost been caught a few times. They are playing way too negative and are bringing the team down.
I think Henderson and Bellingham should come in for the second half.
