Such an un unusual type of player. Has that Nedved-esque drive forward.Like watching Edgar Davids again. I hope he's the real deal.

Sancho, Halaand and Varane tooooo!!!???Great engine in any midfield. Buy him, let’s buy everybody!
Haha yeah, we really don’t need another box to box midfielder. Makes absolutely no sense to sign him.Flavour of the month.
YupSo many needless long range shots.
Yup
some saw Davids. I saw Anderson
Yeah I thought he kept wasting the ball? I'm not sure what people liked in his performance, I found him infuriating yesterday. So many needless long range shots.

He's the exact type of player we (Everton) need in midfield. Our players are far too pedestrian in midfield and don't have the legs to run with the ball and drive at defences. He'd excell for us I reckon.
Did you just call Swansea a brothel @CascarinoIt's so weird seeing this thread bumped again, feels like I've gone back in time.
I remember everyone talking about him ages ago, then he went Swansea for a loan and no one wanted him. It was like finding out that the girl you had a crush on worked at a brothel on loan.
But now he seems to be getting attention again.
I didn't follow him post Swansea, did his talent really drop and now he's finding his feet or was it something else?
Wasn't meant to be like thatDid you just call Swansea a brothel @Cascarino
Expecting a 19 year old Portuguese kid sent on loan to get game time to save a PL club from relegation would have been the wrong expectation to start with, but that's what you get with the kind of hype he had received after that last Euros.Wasn't meant to be like that
We saw him go there and they still struggled and got relegated. So people cooled off on him. That's what I meant. I promise!!
He was utter shit for Swansea - I remember watching his debut and he looked like he’d never kicked a ball before.Wasn't meant to be like that

As the user above you said, 19 year old, new country/league and in a team fighting relegation would be difficult for most players. He was utter shit for Swansea - I remember watching his debut and he looked like he’d never kicked a ball before.
He has improved massively since then, not to the point where I think he’s our standard mind.
Of course it would be difficult. I would expect him to show some ability though. He was dreadful. As the user above you said, 19 year old, new country/league and in a team fighting relegation would be difficult for most players.
I’m not convinced either. Another flavour of the month.Bloody Hell, Geebs. He's a complete avoid if he's Anderson-like! I'm not completely convinced, would be good to see him play a full season.

Also want to point out that Bayern made the deal to buy him before the Euros tournament, the latter just added significant hype and expectation to his signing (on top of his huge fee obviously).
Yeah I completely agree with this. The expectations were unfair from the start, and at the time I didn't really see that. On top of the relegation battle, the atmosphere around the club had become pretty toxic, the supporters were pissed at the sale of the club, and the style of football that had been used for the past decade had devolved. The club was regressing on all fronts. As the user above you said, 19 year old, new country/league and in a team fighting relegation would be difficult for most players.
The brothel is about 40 miles to the East!Did you just call Swansea a brothel @Cascarino
The first few games weren't terrible, his passing was always erratic but he showed the ability to take the ball on the turn. It just nosedived quickly, but that season I honestly couldn't say a single player played well outside of Fabianski.Of course it would be difficult. I would expect him to show some ability though. He was dreadful.
