But his crossing is far from consistent. Everything in his game is inconsistent. He would be great for a team which isn't expected to win every game. But for a team like United, it's not enough to just work hard
Most games he still puts in at least 2 good crosses and there’s no one there. No point playing wingers when we play like arsenal used to

When we get the Sancho deal over the line, we will have Sancho, rashford, greenwood and amad as wide player options (considering martial plays only no. 9) and I really don't see where is the scope for James to get any significant game time.

On the back of a decent tournament, he's a 20 million asset for us and it'll be great for all parties involved if he moves on for a good fee. We could really use that to bolster other more critical areas.

This is what I worry about - I don’t think he will be a hard player to sell as such but I worry that we keep him and his transfer fee just goes down and down year after year.

He had a decent tournament too so I just feel like it’s the right time.

Decent little player against average opposition that offers yards of space.
Sadly we've seen what happens when the opponents are more aggressive and tight, he's useless.

As the other guy above said, he should be a 20m quick sale after this tournament.

Think Sancho means the end of James at United.

He’ll be 4th choice winger behind Rashford, Sancho & Greenwood, and we will want to have a pathway for the likes of Amad.

We should try to raise around 40-45 million from Daniel James and Jesse Lingard. No point having them around any more. Especially for James who's still young and can actually forge a good PL career with a mid-table club.

I'm hoping the club cash in on James now when his stock is high from a semi decent Euro's.

The only way I see him staying is if he accepts limited appearances to be part of our club, we've had the odd player like that in the past so it wouldn't hurt to have him around for the league cup games or early Champions league ties.

There's still a place for James in this squad for at least another season, Rashford will likely start the season injured, both Cavani and Martial's fitness has to be questioned so let's say all 3 are out at the same time you're then down to Greenwood, Sancho and then the likes of Elanga and Amad

Naturally James' minutes will be even more limited with Sancho's arrival but he's still worth keeping around for another year

Amad must surely get minutes ahead of him as well this season, his development is more important then given James minutes in key games. I also like Elanga but I would imagine he'd be in line for a loan move to keep up his development.

I understand your reasoning why we should keep Dan, but you have stated that his minutes will be limited, and also the likes of Elanga and Amad, plus Hannibal and Shoretire, will be desperate to get a start in some matches this season, and who knows what the ceiling of these players are unless we give them games. It wouldn't surprise me if Elanga went on loan this coming season, but the other three I feel will stay.
I like Dan James, his work rate is second to none, but as other posters have mentioned, his stock at Old Trafford is possibly the highest it is going to get, so personally I would cash in now.

I think he might be a January sale.

the young lads like Elanga and Amex only have a handful of appearance. Rashford is likely to have an op, we don’t know which Martial we are going to get. Sancho needs to settle in.

Good points.
Yes, that is a distinct possibility.
The club may wait to see how some of the youngsters perform in the pre season before making a final decision, and I would think that Martial must realise that this is the last chance saloon for him, I honestly can't see us selling him at this moment in time.

What a joke, Welsh people going on about him being a decent footballer. He has no first touch snd you can’t teach that at his level and age. Either you support United or you support wales. You can’t have it both ways. DJ, you ain’t good enough for United and if you were half as good as Clayton blackmore alone..... but you ain’t. Good luck though ..... stop putting your country ahead of Utd. No one with half a footballing brain would say he’s good enough for United even on the bench and should get game time ahead of amad snd pellistri. Our club is suffering snd no more giving fluffy people their day. We need trophies not deluded Welsh fans who are seeking their next top footballer. DJ ain’t it. Hughes, Giggs and Blackmore are way ahead of him. If the Welsh brigade keep on insisting, then etc thus get one my Iranian boys in this team but wait ... they ain’t good enough for United (fact) snd nether is Dan James. This is BS. Time to leave DJ snd take your Welsh patriots who love you ahead of United with you.

There was a time I respected the Welsh national team as they had Hughes, rush, Saunders etc but to still say DJ is at that level or good enough for the bench at United shows a lack of understanding of football (squads snd ability) and a ridiculous level of patriotism ahead of United. The thought that he should ever kick a ball for United again is embarrassing, it’s like we didn’t watch his entire season last season. He is as close to useless as a top prem footballer as you’re going to get.

bless him he works hard....

What do you love about him? His heading ability? His ability to beat a man? His first touch? His goal scoring record or assists record? You are stifling serious young talent by giving this premier league relegation fodder of a player any minutes on the pitch. I won’t be supporting him taking playing time away from real footballers like amad and pellistri

I’m not angry at all, it’s about Welsh people facing facts sane as us Iranians. Your footballers are generally sheeet stop trying to ‘big’ them up because of some crazy patriotic sheeet live in the real world.
Which imaginery Welsh people are you talking to?

What a meltdown

@BR7 Everything alright pal?
Absolutely you have no idea what a melt down is mate. A meltdown is when you’re 10 snd having saddam Hussain’s bombs dropping on your head every night as a child like I did. When your parents have to send you to a different country with no mum and dad at the age of 10 when British bombs sold to saddsm were dropping on our heads. You have no idea how lucky you are mate, wind your neck in. I’m not complaining but you seem to have a problem with me cussing out the sheeet Daniel James. For

Funny you mention that, I also grew up in a country being bombed by Saddam. Take a break, log off for a bit and come back later, then we can talk football.

Well I respect they if it’s true snd I’ll take my comment back but then like myself you’d know the dark days snd should know DJ is not the answer. Period. Even on the bench
what about the miss placed loyalty from welsh people towards an English player during your meltdown? Taking that back?

James is a very young footballer who is supposed to be a squad player. He's been overplayed because the squad is paper thin. He has played some good stuff for Wales over the last 18 months - I have watched every minute.

He is not the finished article by a long way but he might have a chance as an impact player - something we might benefit from.

To compare him to watching bombs etc is ridiculous.

Well this thread has gone south quick. For what it’s worth Iv been very vocal in saying I want James gone. Nice lad but definitely not the quality we need.
Like others have said; Sell Lingard and James now while their stock is high. West Ham and Leeds should snap them both up.

I mean he’s 24 this November. Hardly a pup.
