I'm feeling good about tomorrow which scares the hell out of me. Why am I so confident?!
Dangerous, Denmark has nothing to lose, no pressure on them. On top of that they are full of confidence and determination.

Agree, they have that kind of mentality. They had beaten both of World Cup and Euro Champions in 1992 with the same attitude.

England should be worry of Denmark right now.

Thats the tactic set by Mancini i guess, letting Spain to have more possesion and chances only to be countered with fast counter attacking football. At the start of this tournament i made a point in the newbie forum of how this italian team is the best Italian team in decade but they lack quality strikers to win it, i simply dont rate Immobile and Bellotti at all, not only theyre poor finishers they also bad at linking up play something players like Morata and Olmo are good at.
It very clearly was not. We clearly wanted to play our usual football, and Spain just made it impossible

Fir a skilled team, I think it is more effective that "parking the bus". But without a Messi or an Iniesta, this thing is toothless.
Spain were toothless because their forwards suck. They would have been toothless no matter how they played

They created more chances than anyone else at this tournament, it's not even close. In fact, *this* Spain created a lot more than the 2008-2010-2012 versions

I'm clinging onto the fact that England seem too confident. Around all my mates there was still a nervous energy for the Germany/Ukraine games but now they fully believe they're in the final already. Loads of people tweeting out the same stuff, it being at Wembley etc. Just feels like it's set up for a Denmark win.

I’m ok with them making the final, I want them to think it’s coming home. I want them to get all excited and truly believe so that when the Italians beat them it crushes all their little hopes and dreams. It’ll be so much sweeter.

Off topic how did Jordi Alaba not chin Chiellini last night. Imagine him pulling that crap on a Keane or anyone really.

Well i think current Spain plays less tiki taka and i find their matches vs Switzerland and Croatia far more entertaining than any other of their games the last 10-12 years. Put Villa or a 2008 Torres instead of Morata and they would be in the final vs Italy.

Oh yeah, this Spain side with Villa(and a fit Sergio Ramos) win the euros playing with their cocks out

Stop blaming Morata. Why never blame Gerard Moreno?

I m not blaming Morata. I think he is a really decent player. Just nowhere near the level of Torres and Villa, who in their prime were top-5 forwards in the world. But it was just a hypothetical example.

Agree. If they continue down this path with Luis Enrique and can dig out a quality striker they're going to be a force. But finding the latter in modern football is not easy.

I can't believe people blame Spain for this instead of the teams they faced
This thread was bizarre yesterday, people seething with hate for 'boring' Spain while Italy parked the bus and hang on for dear life for most of the 120 minutes.

Surely you want the Utd players to win? Aren’t you a Utd fan?

Spain were boring yesterday for many people. Second half they were a little better, but possession football is painfully dull. Italy remained the more entertaining side.

I'll never really understand this take but then you probably find Mourinho teams entertaining.

I thought watching Spain backheel the ball around midfield was pretty entertaining actually. Italy barely had the ball and did little with it when they got it.

Nope absolutely cannot stand Mourinho and parking the bus either. For me pure tikka takka, possession football for the sake is just as boring though. I like teams who play on the edge and are willing to take risks. Italy didn’t play great last night but at least when they got the ball they looked forward, they looked to play direct and get behind Spain and they looked to use pacy tricky players. I’ve just never enjoyed the way Spain play.

Not for all, but for some, it just comes across as sheer sour grapes for the amazing technical feat that Spanish footballers have pulled off with their style. I'm not the biggest fan of tiki-taka and rolled my eyes every time I saw a Spain team playing without a centre forward in the past, but you have to respect the skill, organisation and talent it takes to have that kind of philosophy. It was the opposition teams though that sat back and parked the bus instead of taking the game to them.
Luis Enrique is much more vertical than del Bosque was so accusing Spain of being boring is like accusing Lewis Hamilton for just consistently driving ahead of his rivals in a F1 race.

I think you can admire the execution and skill and at the same time think it’s boring as feck. Italy have played some of the most entertaining football at the tournament and they combine possession with a faster and more direct style.

Yeah, this. Spain played some sublime stuff in this tournament, even though on an individual level they are far away from the Xavi-Iniesta era. The level of technical excellence they display is absolutely commendable and they always look to impose their own game on others, always looking to play on the front foot and dominate - which is a lot tougher than sitting back and hitting teams on the break.

So who's surprised that the team with the best manager made it into the final? They have sone decent players but I'd argue that England, France, Germany, Portugal and Belgium have more individual quality than Italy.

Tough game tonight against the Danes.

They're going to to be strong and highly motivated. It will be like a tight Premiership match.
They are going to be a threat on set-pieces.

I think the quality of matchwinners we have on and off the bench will be the difference.
I'll take any win.

What your mates or x,y or z on an internet forum thinks has no bearing on the result.

There is noise in every country. If teams lost because of the arrogance of their media and fan base then Italy would have been long finished. In Italy the media declared Italy's game against Belgium as the real final of the competition and wrote off all the other sides in it. The idea that in Denmark there aren't countless people saying that England have no chance is simply bollocks. They even got a Dane on BBC News saying it last night. You'll find a diverse set of opinions from fans in all countries. If you step outside of the confirmation bias that you're looking for on this forum even you'll see that there are plenty of ultra negative England fans, many balanced fans along with cocky and bullish ones.

Southgate has this side firmly grounded and they won't suddenly start struting around like entitled peacocks because of what excitable fans are saying. There's been no hint of any player not taking this game 100% seriously. They're professionals and know that Denmark are an underrated side because we've had two very tough games with them recently in the Nations League. If we lose tonight it will not be because of these confected ideas of unique arrogance among England fans and media.

Come on  we are not that deluded.

Agree with your overall point though.

Italy will dominate the ball against whoever they play in the final though. They looked dangerous going forward when they nicked the ball.

Spain are just something else with ball retention.

Don’t think there was a great deal of hanging on for dear life. Spain created very little while Italy looked dangerous on the counter all night.

It certainly wasn’t boring though.

I started watching right when Spain equalized and can't remember a single time that Italy looked dangerous on the counter, maybe apart from a blocked Berardi shot in the second OT but that wasn't even a counter. Maybe they were for the first hour but certainly weren't after that.

You’re not Scottish are you? If you were you’d never even consider such a thought.
I am not, I would support the home nations though but that's just me. To be honest I always prioritise Utd over national teams so if a tie was neutral I'd support the side with the Utd players in.

It'd be tense, but I think it'd be a really drab watch.
No, It would be nice to see England's fast forwards up against the experienced Italian defenders. I do think the game would be won from the battle in the middle of the field.

Makes a bit more sense, but surely Marcos Llorente is a better shout there?

Then again I don’t agree with a lot of Enrique’s choices (and not just his wardrobe. Jeans to a fecking semi final?) Adama hasn’t played a minute so far. I don’t rate him much, ask @Cascarino, but man he offers something literally nothing in this side can
This tournament has been a disaster,
I’ve been sat primed during every Spain game wearing my Adama shirt, only to have been let down so badly by the Spanish management. I feel like a fool :(

TLDR: The English are arrogant cnuts.
