Are you really denying that the thugs booing the anthems has nothing to do with nationalism ?

Also is there something here that you don't believe is true?

This macho English aggression and general thuggish behaviour of some ( not all) English fans, including the booing of other countries national anthems, is mainly a matter of non education, ie ignorance of one's true identity, and so is directly linked to England's ideological white-washing of their violent racist history. The truth of the brutality of England's British empire is not taught at school. It needs to be.

The English/British imperialists are considered "the most evil people that have walked the surface of this world"..Genocidal Britain == Jeffrey Dahmer, ..
This is so not only because of their numerous genocides across the world (North America, Africa, Australia, India, Ireland) but also because of the huge numbers of the most shameless genocide apologists/genocide deniers they have right now. If the fans were educated to the truth they would soon stop their booing of other countries national anthems and of players taking the knee.

After the genocide of the Native American people (close to extinction), England with it's ideology of white supremacism, posturing as race science, ruled America through slavery and racist subjugation of non-white peoples. Today the racist brutality of Anglo Saxon, white supremacy lives on in US institutions an example being the normalised police-murder of black men that gave rise today to Black lives Matter.

England killed or starved about 20% of Irish population and 30 million Indians in mid 19th century..
England is the"Inventor" of Concentration camps in Board War. Massive atrocities in India. Treatment of American soldiers and civilians in War for Independence. Many many more.

The death toll for Britian during its enitre span is far greater than any other empire the world has seen.

The English have been murdering/torturing/starving Irish people since Oliver Cromwell to the 1798 Irish rebellion to the Great Famine aka Great Genocide to the Black&Tans to Dublin Monaghan bombings to killing civilians in Derry (google all of it).

They have murdered to extinction countless millions of Native Americans and indigenous Australians.

They have murdered/starved/tortured tens of millions of Indians from 1757 to 1947.

Also google Opium Wars, Batang Kali, Boer concentration camps etc.

England also resorted to the use of concentration camps to defeat South Africa’s Boer population at the turn of the 20th century. 10% of the entire Boer population were killed in these camps, including 22,000 children, who were starved and beaten to death.

One England's most ruthless conquests came in the 1800s, when English colonists annihilated Tasmania’s indigenous population. They forced aborigine wives to carry the heads of their dead husbands around their necks.

This is redcafe member Nokillingmoths response to being educated about the racist violence if the English nation " I found this quite funny"

So some English fans ( not all thankfully) find centuries of brutal English racist violence funny. The mass murder to the brink of extinction countless millions of Native Americans and indigenous Australians.
Really ?
Maybe they need to think about what is ideogically shaping your sense of humour.

P.s You can know your history and still support England. Learning one's history is the best way of making sure it is not repeated. If some of the thug tries who give England fans a bad name were actually taught the truth about the empire when they were school children then perhaps they wouldn't be so prone to aggressively acting out their desire for the return of English violent domination of the world.

Yeah apologies for that I didn’t mean to give the impression I felt that way, just that I found the original posters sentiment that booing the national anthems was a sign of protesting nationalism a bit out there, which to be fair you’re probably right was a joke rather than a serious argument.
Fair enough. I might be wrong tbf, in which case I'd agree.
That’s fair, yes.

The main point I disagreed was disrespecting opponent is key to good atmosphere. I still struggle to agree with that disrespect stuff But see that hating each other helps. Can’t you hate while still respecting? Don’t know.
I think we all just have to agree to disagree on that. Can you hate and respect? I guess not anymore, as somebody will always be offended at something.

Theres a difference between club football and international tournaments. Club football e.g. PL, is tribal and pretty much anything goes (within reason) re fans chants etc. The players are being paid millions by their clubs and a lot of fans (mostly foreign) are attracted by a certain clubs success rather than any actual bond with them.

However, you cant change where you were born so world cups and euros are a bit more special when your country gets there. All the club rivalries should be left behind and everyone gets behind the team. The best teams aren't good because of cheque books but because of their talent and team ethics.

So the booing of national anthems is a failure to let go of the club culture and embrace the occasion. It boorish, ignorant and disrespectful. This England team are pretty likeable guys and their manager is a nice guy too. The football isn't that bad either. However, the general feeling in Ireland is that most people think the same, but cant support them tomorrow night because of the fan behaviour, particularly the booing of the anthems. Nothing to do with the history of the last 800 years and all that shite.

Everyone up in arms about the booing are mental and the reason why the world is a big fecking daycare centre.

Grow up. Always want to moan bout something when in fact there is nothing all to moan about.

Next we will be getting "he kicked the ball too hard at the goalkeeper" "he did a trick and causes the defender mental torment".

Geez, you are acting as if we boo'd someone's anthem at the Olympics. It's football, it's all tribal.

I could say the world is fecked because people’s total lack of respect and morals have gone out of the window.

Fed up of hearing it’s only a song and words, can apply that to so much other shit sung by fans that people frown upon, it’s no excuse to not shut the feck up for a minute. Don’t know why I keep bothering in this thread, can’t help myself.

It’s just a song. The fact that they boo all opposition anthems takes away any disrespect (as it’s nothing personal) and it’s just a bit of panto fun. If you don’t like it, don’t do it, but keep your knickers untwisted.

We should probably take all fans out of stadiums again before they upset folk.

For what it’s worth I couldn’t give a feck if my anthem got boo’d, I would just think they’re nobs and life would go on. I wouldn’t be phoning support lines or looking to get my knickers untwisted.

surprisingly enough some people manage to have opinions on things without actually crying.

It's embarrassing and shows a complete lack of respect. But that's the English way quite often... See also the complete lack of empathy for the Danes at the end of the game from our team last night given all they had gone through in this tournament. We were wrapped up in ourselves to the point where nothing else matters.

Yes, try and win with a bit of class.

Your efforts are appreciated mate, and if your efforts contribute to one person having a change of heart then its been worth it. Of course, nobody will ever tell you that you've changed their mind because it's the internet and nobody will ever lose face, so it can feel like a hopeless endeavour.

For the 99% of the people in the world who dont have to run every single comment, action or happening past a sexist/homophobic/racist/xenophobe/insert here checker booing a national anthem is just something you do to get on your oponents backs from before the first whistle.

If you dont get this simply feck off and take up knitting or something, football isnt for you.

I think all england fans should join in the italian anthem, then celebrate wildly if they score to be honest. Actually, I think supporting specific teams is a bit hateful, just be neutral
