Also the FA Cup against Arsenal in 2005? We absolutely battered them for ninety minutes but somehow just could not score and we lost it on pens. Absolute travesty
Rafael on Ribery for the red card. Gibson, Nani and Wayne scored and gave us a 3-0 lead at OT only to lost it to a brilliant Robben goalNah the one when we threw it away against Bayern under Fergie. 2 late goals at their ground then lost a 3-0 lead at ours. Robben scored a volley. IIRC we had a criminal sending off in that game too
Rafa got fecked over by refs a few times. Remember Clattenberg having a mare giving Leicester a pen for Vardy shoving into him.Rafael on Ribery for the red card. Gibson, Nani and Wayne scored and gave us a 3-0 lead at OT only to lost it to a brilliant Robben goal
Yeah Bayern couldn't get near us that day until the Rafael's sending offRafa got fecked over by refs a few times. Remember Clattenberg having a mare giving Leicester a pen for Vardy shoving into him.
I truly believe that if that goal hadn't been scored and we'd have won the title, Ferguson would have retired that year and we would have secured Pep Guardiola. Sergio Agüero changed the course of history dramatically that day.Aguero goal was painful. We stormed the league the following season though which made up for it.
I still think he would've done another year. We went out in the group stages of Europe that year. He wanted another crack at it.I truly believe that if that goal hadn't been scored and we'd have won the title, Ferguson would have retired that year and we would have secured Pep Guardiola. Considering this it's still a bit baffling to me that SAF tried to play them, rather than hit them on the counter Jose style.Aguero wasn't as bad because I figured we'd just win the league next season. Rome hurt more because it was the Champions League and we really should've had a few more with Sir Alex. 2011 didn't hurt as much because I knew we didn't belong on the same pitch as Barcelona at the time (very few clubs did).
I remember being weirdly calm in those moments, bizarre looking back on it.The moments leading up to John Terry’s penalty were terrible and sickening
Good on you, I've barely come over that now! When we lost to Real and Nani got sent off. Took me weeks to not be pissed off about that.
Wembley is Scottish? That Nani one was such an outrageously bad decision it's still amazing now.
Made even worse by going back to watching lower league football and seeing such incidents only given as fouls, not even a yellow the weeks after.
Made even worse by seeing Fergie absolutely losing his beans, when he knew it was his last season in the job, and cruelly denied the chance of a Scottish venue final.
Ah, was it the Robben goal season that was the final in Scotland?Wembley is Scottish?
This, and a similar story against Dortmund CL semi in 97’ , we absolutely battered them, still don’t know how we didn’t get to the final, I’ve never been so guttedAlso the FA Cup against Arsenal in 2005? This and there was a game 1-2 home defeat against Forrest in 1994 that left me totally gutted too for some reason. After that game I decided I shouldn’t let football results annoy me so much anymoreProbably after Barcelona played us off the pitch in Wembley in the 2011 CL final
