Manchester United being irrelevant

Cry some more for your favourite club.. Dortmund :houllier:
Let's face it, we have been irrelevant for about eight years now on the European stage. Two CL quarter-finals were the pinnacle of our decade and we haven't been anywhere close to a title challenge in our domestic league either. We're no more relevant than AC Milan.

This thread is cringe and something I'd expect to see at RAWK or from the Arse fans.

There's no banter here except for the United fans who think saving the Glazers 35m for one year less of Sancho at the club is somehow a footballing trophy.
Insert fun at parties quote.

Can’t wait for the tears from @Zehner and rest of his BDL crew
Mate, that conflict exists only in your head. "We" never had anything against United. In fact I'm rooting more for United now than I did before because you signed one of my favourite players. I'm not a tribal person :) So honestly, congratulations, you signed one hell of a player.

Why are Bayern fans lurking on an United forum?
I was just wondering how low you have to be to venture into a forum of opposing fans to spew negative shit just because you're jelly. We have some good posters in here from opposing clubs that are decent classy people (debatable) then we have the ones that's been posting in this thread.

We're not the first elite club to go through a barren spell and we certainly won't be the last. But irrelevant? That's not even remotely true. Just take a look how much pleasure opposition clubs get from this is dry spell, we're still living in their heads.

We're clearly on an upward trajectory and that has them concerned. Cream always rises to the top one way or another.

Our fans' arrogance when it comes to the Bundesliga is really embarassing.
It's not really a great league currently though. And how come United fans aren't supposed to celebrate the signing of a good young player? It's the hard times, we get it, just because we aren't screaming it out on every thread, doesn't mean we aren't aware. Redcafe is a garbage experience these days, and it's not just the oppos. Should probably just stick to Reddit.

Precisely. We aren't even a Bundesliga club for these oppos to show up with interest. Utterly sad existence.

It's not the celebration that I find embarassing or cringeworthy, it's the 'BDL' stuff.

I'm excited about getting Sancho, and very much looking forward to seeing him in a United shirt.

I mean, the BDL club started the nonsense. It's literally the OP. And yes, it isn't as strong as it used to be, it's close to an objective fact currently.

It's been quite amazing to see how one relatively harmless tweet by Dortmund's social media department has triggered so much anger over the past year. I truly hope this comeback of their social media department will give closure to all United fans.

Not only Bayern fans, but Leverkusen, Schalke, Hertha Berlin, Wolfsburg, Werder Bremen and Union Berlin fans.

The Bundesliga definition of rivalry is giving each other reacharounds.
And you even see some United fans joining in.

Yes, absolute scum. We should get Priti Patel to handle the moderation on here, since Mr Free Speech over here is unhappy with dissenting views.

You’re not even in the same league as Dortmund. Why are you triggered about the whole thing?

City have won 5 out of the last 10 titles, winning a lot of domestic cups along the way. They’ll probably win 7-8 out of the next 10 league titles too. Unlike Bayern, the did it with financial doping rather than developing organically.

Meanwhile, unlike BVB who buy youngsters and develop them, we throw big money around to see what sticks, still get nowhere near challenging, and play hilariously shit football while saying we’re the biggest in the world.

So what are we celebrating again?
Some of you are proper strange. Must get off on this self-depreciation stuff.

It was one harmless tweet followed by one harmless response from our social media department. I hope Dortmund's official announcement on the transfer gives closure to all the BDL fans.

Its hilarious. A lot of these posters were defending these exact same actions from Dortmund last year. All Utd are doing is pressing the quote button for feck sake.

Yeah, feck off

We've won more than Dortmund in recent times in our slump  AC milan are a huge club. Only juveniles look at the CL last 8 to decide on the relevance of football clubs

I find it very weird that fans of non-Dortmund German clubs are bantering United when we just weakened one of their rivals. They should be appreciative of United. If Salah left Liverpool for Barcelona I'd happily cheer Barca on.

What truly baffles me though, is that some of our fans are joining in. At a time when our club, our manager and our players are giving Sancho a hero's welcome on social media, some United fans on here are putting the club down. I just don't understand it.

Not really. Did you see their farwell message to Mkhitaryan or did you conveniently forget it? Regardless this is us taking the piss. I don't think many have genuine anger towards a club that don't matter to us.

Guys it's just a tweet. If you don't like it then please stay away from this thread. Don't ruin it for others just because you love being miserable.

They don’t have the same tribalism. Personally find it very sterilise but it’s their culture so hey ho.

 Exactly. Funny how taking the piss out of England fans was great (it really was) but Dortmund is off limits !

Fair enough, I suppose I have to take this on the chin. I do still feel emotionally attached to the Bundesliga.

You seem to be emotionally attached to Manchester United as well, since you went out of your way to register on the leading fan forum of the club.

I think the simple explanation is that almost all of Germany is so bored of Bayern's dominance that it got to the point where even some Schalke and Bayern supporters would prefer Dortmund winning the league to Bayern winning it one more time.
