I'm still not convinced he's going to join us, but I think if we have the funds and a reasonable bid gets accepted, I would be surprised if he turns us down to leave on a free.
We won't bid unless we know he'd make the move. Like yourself, I'm not convinced he wants the move though, so I think we'll move onto someone else soon.

I think we would bid based on the noises the agents been making and pretty much all our rivals being mentioned can no longer bid for him. I actually have faith in Murtogh and Fletch that if it doesn't go to plan, we'll have someone a la Neves lined up.

I doubt now that we're even in for him tbh. We get one like this every summer where our name is used for a move elsewhere or new contract.

But if we are, i'm sure the club has received more assurances that he does want to join than some random frenchman on twitter would know about.

If he wants Madrid, they should show him what happened to Odegaard the last few years.

I would like him but in reality he probably doesn’t start that many games for us and would be a longer term project. Can’t see him having an impact on the squad like a Neves or Saul would right now. Certainly one that would be great to have for the future.

Correct me if I am wrong, Di Maria was basically pushed out by RM who wanted the money and United were bidding the highest. This isn't anyways comparable to Camavinga. His club would like to keep him and he will only move if he wants to. That and what @ivaldo pointed out that his preference to move somewhere doesn't mean his aversion to move to United.
Yeah, this is such a silly comparison and nowhere near the same. I've also mentioned this before.

So some are saying he wants Real and others are saying he wants PSG. So if he went to PSG, does that mean their fans don't take to him because he wanted Real? Or if he goes to Real, do the Real fans not take to him if he wanted PSG?

The truth is, no one knows.

It genuinely seems like there’s no such thing as a deterrent when it comes to them. Players back themselves or believe things will be different for them. It might also be a case of seeing it as a once in a lifetime opportunity, or all of the above.

I think there’s also the knowledge that if a player makes it there, they have the greatest odds of a storied legacy career where they’ll always get the going rate, plus the plaudits of making their own name amongst a pantheon of greats.

The difference is that he wants to go to one of those two, if he doesn't get his move to those he might be asked to move to us by the Rennes staff. He can then either decide to move to us to help out Rennes or screw Rennes, so he might end up coming without the desire to be here.

At the moment, it seems touch and go that Camavinga will join us. Would make sense for us to go after Ilaix Moriba at Barcelona, who's refusing to extend his contract. He'll be cheaper and whilst he has less defensive instincts than Camavinga, is more of a Pogba replacement in the long term.

I think he is our main target, that is why we are waiting. We can always strike an easy deal with Wolves for Neves if we want to later on.

8/10
Fair play that is very confident I will give you that but my worry is he has seen someone like Bellingham turn down Utd possibly due to fear of not enough game time and think he may have concerns of him ending up in the same situation

Bit surprised if he is our number one target in midfield. There appear to be so many good options, and considering our needs I would expect us to sign someone a bit more experienced. Saul appears to be available, and could have been a Bruno-present for us. Furthermore, there are players like Kamara and Tchouameni who looks convincing.

One thing is for sure, if we are buying Camavinga over all these options, we feel confident about his commitment to join.

Use Pereira as part of the deal, 1 player gone, 1 player in. Cant see anyone else leaving unless its on loan.

Doubt he’d want to go to France? Who knows though. It could be a good idea
Be a good level for him i reckon. He's not cut out for England. Also he can play the position Camavinga does for them. Not as well like, but that would be their problem.

Cheap as feck and quite similar in style to Rice, who a lot of people want.
Should we really be buying players just because they’re cheap? Is he actually good enough? God knows I’ve seen enough “stats” of his that suggest maybe, but you can also show Fred as a world class player if you cherry pick the right stats.

Ive seen nothing to remotely link us as having a firm interest in this lad.

I also think, knowing Ole, that any interest we may have had would have faded fast if there is any truth to him preferring PSG or Madrid.

Ole suffers no transfer fools who aren’t keen to join the club. It’s largely worked well for him so couldn’t complain if that’s the case.

Shame if he isn’t keen to join though, talented lad.

I feel like he'd actually fair better in France and he'd play regularly.
I don’t think pereira is a bad player but I feel like he needs regular game time and patience to figure out what his actual game is. You can’t be doing that at Utd as a utility man. There’s a good player in there. A step backwards and a big club might come back in for him as a starter in a year or two. This summer If he goes to a bigger club as a squad player I feel like he’ll stagnate further. I’d love someone like Burnley or Southampton to take a punt on him as a starter. He could genuinely rip it up in France.

No, but it certainly would contribute to a decision. @justsomebloke did a good bit of analysis of DMs and Kamara came up as a decent option, especially as he'll probably available for £15m. That being said, I think he's probably going to Newcastle anyway.

Does anyone know why this deal still isn’t done? City are out here chucking away 100m over Grealish and we’re haggling over a few quid for a wonderkid. Ridiculous.

I’ve no doubt he’s a decent player, same for the other lad but it seems 90% of the arguments I’ve read for both are just regurgitating cherry picked stats that show them as the best midfielder in Europe, so I’m a tad skeptical.

Yeah, I've watched him a few times and I he's definitely a decent player. My logic for someone like him would be - if you rate Rice, he is a far cheaper stylistic alternative, where the quality/experience drop off isn't significant enough to warrant paying Rice's price tag. If you then want to look at the stats as a whole and make your own decision: https://fbref.com/tiny/nfr79

We've spent over 110 million pounds and he doesn't want to come to england...the fee has never been discussed.

Or, if he really doesn't want to come to us, he could sign a new contract with a clause in there that would allow him to move to Real or PSG, for the price Rennes are willing to accept this year, or more?!

This would mean if Camavinga cares so much about Rennes and really doesn't want to move to us, both will be happy.

What is there to suggest we are in for Neves? Absolutely nothing
Well I can't prove we are but I bet you can't prove we are not. So why are you saying there is nothing to suggest so.
The emoji is just childish by the way.
