How can you disagree with about who his favourite was?
He had personal issues with Schmeichel.
More importantly nearly all his teammates including those who did not personally get along with him say he was the best captain they ever played under and the very definition of leadership. Be it on the training ground or on match day.
Many stories of him losing the rag with players who were not putting the max effort into training five a sides etc , he despised slackers.
I liked his reaction to the Yorke or Cole question. I don't think he takes Yorke very seriously.
He fell out with Yorke when he was manager at Sunderland.
He was a great keeper, but a difficult personality.

Also Keane and Cole remain good friends. In his book, Cole wrote that Keane was the first person to visit him in hospital recently when he had a kidney transplant.

Schmeichel would receive constant shit from the fans in this modern/internet era. I think a lot of people have forgotten how many mistakes he actually made, which didn’t matter so much in the 90’s when fans didn’t microanalyse every moment of every players performance.
I think a lot of that team didn't like Schmeichel all that much.
Keane's problem always seems to me that he cant separate the player from the person. If he didn't rate you he could never like you, and if he didn't like you he could never rate you. Lots of ex pros like Neville seem content to leave that all behind in retirement.

Did anyone see his Instagram (or something) sitting with Ian Wright where he captioned something like "Me and my good mate Wrighty hanging out, Micah don't be jealous" ... So weirdly refreshing seeing this side to Keano, puts a smile on my face all the time
This was my thinking too. He seems so at ease these days. There were times in the past he seemed openly tormented.

Quite surreal watching Keane play against the likes of Irwin, Giggs, Ince and Schmeichel. A classic marauding performance from Keane, although he was a bit rough around the edges with his passing. Nonetheless, glimpses of his hallmark metronomic passing, which he would go on to refine at United, were apparent.
United simply struggled to deal with his dynamism and rampaging runs from midfield at times, whilst defensively Keane was a rock and the only Forest player who looked like he could deal with Giggs, who was on fire that day.
20 years later and he was still wrong to leave.
