I still don’t get the Chelsea love in on this forum, was the same after last summer too. Funny how many Utd fans have convinced themselves that Lukaku (yes the Utd reject) will suddenly elevate them to contenders. I stand by the team who finishes above City will win the league and I don’t think it will be more than one side.

Do people really believe they can change the outcome of a season by reverse psychology? Good luck with that.

It’s quite unbelievable to be at a stage where anything less than four goals for a team against another PL team would be a surprise, but here we are. 9 players that made the pitch for city today cost over 50m, and doesnt include those unavailable or who stayed on bench. There’s always hammerings every season, always will be, but today’s game could have been played 100 times and if norwich scored in a handful it would be a surprise. Pointless petroclub

Didn't Chelsea win the champions league last season and after Lampard got the sack look pretty good in the league as well?

They looked decent (nothing more) in the second half of the season but still limped over the line. The champions league was good but I still don’t think it was wholly convincing. We shall see but I think Chelsea will underperform relative to expectations again this campaign.

Of course not. City are the greatest sporting institution of all time & Lord Pep is a God among men, the job he has been able to do with a team of plucky journeymen is astonishing.

They only limped because they couldn't score goals, creating chances wasn't a massive issue. That's why people think Lukaku will be a big help to them.

They’ve increased the competitiveness of the league apparently.

Sure but that assumes that Lukaku won’t impact the chance creation. His CV so far tells me it will!

Moral of the story, what's the point of Norwich in the PL.

Proper football club, were challenging near the top in early 90s and worked their way back the hard way. Maybe if they got bought by some dodgy sheikh modern fans would consider them relevant. Sad really

Agree with this.

A proper community club, have spent a lot within the community and try and blood players through the academy.

The academy is awesome by the way, absolutely brilliantly run with feelers everywhere in East Anglia.

It is sad that a club that has roots at its heart is chastised in such a way.

I feel sorry for them, there's not much they can do except get promoted again and try to survive in the PL on a small budget. They even managed to keep hold of Aarons and Cantwell, Buendia was never going to stay another season.

It’s hard to say when he only ever takes over the strongest team in the league with the biggest transfer budget. Liverpool were in a similar position to current Arsenal when Klopp took over. I don’t think Pep could do that job.

The majority of those who voted in the prediction thread have City as the champions. The second highest number #1 votes went to United. Chelsea were a distant third in that particular vote. Lots of people had us finishing second though. I think we had the highest number of votes for that position. What you're arguing against, it seems, is actually a minority view as there are loads more who think United will be champions, if City don't, than Chelsea and most people in the Lukaku thread share your view that he's a useless donkey who will be a hindrance to Chelsea.

So is there actually a Chelsea love in on this forum? Doesn't seem like it to me.

They should just give'm the title now. Making them wait till May is an insult.

Best team on the Laniakea Supercluster for sure.

Mate, youre absolutely unhealthily obsessed with Chelsea. Deary me. Now were only missing TheReligion joining in and you two turning another thread into a super obsessed Chelsea hate in and love in thread! Cue in any moment now the super defensive triggered Chelsea fans who will tell us how great Tuchel is…. :boring:

Lets not go down this road for the billionth time because youre seething at the mere existence of Chelsea football Club.

On second thought, are you sure you're not a Chelsea fan trying your hardest to prove how much of a Chelsea fan you're not?

Man City spent 100m on a player, what happens next will SHOCK you.
Yeah, the ball will comically bounce off him and go into the net which will lead to a totally fitting and not over the top blowing of kisses to the crowd.

It’s definitely not a minority view and I’m also considering the wider views outside of this forum particularly by pundits. I think it’s easy to look at the champions league win and equate that to league success but it doesn’t always work that way in reality.

It's a competitive league, but they're definitely the best team in it. I mean, KDB didn't even play and they won 5-0 and the game was just too easy for them at times. It'll take an incredible season to beat them to the title for any other team IMO.

Against Norwich, let's keep that in mind

They still need a reliable scorer in tougher games. Unless they get Kane and/or Jesus/Sterling become that... I'm sticking with my prediction of 3rd in the league for them.
