Can anyone else think of another player, past or present, who he is similar too? I can’t and it’s bothering me. He has such a unique set of qualities. Maybe Cantona? But I don’t remember Cantona being anything like as busy.
Zico and Platini. Or Nedved when playing for Czech.

People say him being tired was an excuse,
It's actually delusional to say this. He was hardly ever a sub, and had over 85 games played last season. That is a mental amount of playing time for a footballer, even excluding the fact it happened in a tighter schedule.

Platini, maybe?

There’s a set of United fans out there who set their stall as Bruno reducers (they specialize in minimizing everything he does and overly moaning about little things like misplaced passes.. ( I mean who gives a f about misplaced passes when Bruno is as productive as he is)…probably so they could always say “I told you so” … them expecting his numbers to eventually drop…

I'd say more flair but don't know about vision and creativity. Better work rate too.
Yes, little more flair. Lampard and Drogba were lethal. When you have someone like Drogba who reads you and makes runs then you pile number of assists. But still it takes pin point accurate delivery from the playmaker and Lampard used to pull that quite frequently. Work rate wise Bruno is far better, hands down.

Does he have to win things to be regarded as one of our best players of all time in a couple more years ( I just ask because winning things are done by a whole team and not just an individual player so I'd like to know the opinion because he is a joy to watch already).

Absolutely IMHO, depend on how consistently he performs in next 2-3 years. Kane has won nothing and still he is the best CF in the league, regarded as best English player. To win trophies everything needs to click and I think it is unfair to put that as criteria for individual assessment. Sometimes when you have best player in the team and still don't win trophies then you would say "team lost despite having him".

I think we have really underpaid Sporting Lisbon for his transfer and on hindsight, they should have demanded much more. What a player
Absolutely

What a steal, probably of the decade if we manage to win a PL or CL with him.

Not sure what was going on today, he got dispossed and fell to the ground everytime someone got a challenge on him.

Was still involved in our goal, though, which goes to show even when he's having a day off he's still valuable

Hollywood Bruno. Everything he does has to be dramatic and special.

I hate the way he goes down when hes tackled. I thought the one on him in the lead up to the goal should have been a foul given the fouls the ref gave earlier than that. But I hate how he goes like hes injured, but then gets up and is fine. Its frustrating.

Decent game. Couldn't get him and Pogba involved enough offensively, but when we did, they did well.

That's what they all do. Even if he could stand up right away, it would have not prevented the goal.

I thought he played as good as anyone. Passed the ball forward and created chances. If Pogba didn't fall to follow up his header, we could have won.

Worst is when we have the ball and are attacking whilst he stays on the ground feigning injury at our side of the field.

Im not even talking about the goal. Im talking about a few times when we were attacking and he went down. He was tackled cleanly, he just needs to get up and try to win the ball back instead of letting the opposition a free run

Yeah that too. I dont get what hes trying to achieve. Its annoying cos hes awesome at most everything else for us and so important when it comes to attacking, as shown with his part in our equaliser.

I don't know. Probably he was actually hurt for a moment but walked it off after that. I mean it can happen no?

We had tons of shites happened in this game. Those were not exactly key mistakes.

Sure, but on seemingly every tackle? I think thats the issue I have, that hes very very dramatic, that its hard to tell and gets frustrating.

He is poor on the ball under pressure, he just doesn't have a great dribbling ability to get away from his marker constantly.

Very immobile on the ball and doesn't like to move with it when defenders are ahead of him. I hope today teaches him that refs are no longer calling hard tackles like last season and he will have to release it quicker.

Regarding the fall after tackles, he’s doing what professional footballers do. Nothing new. But since he’s a United player, we know what’s coming.

He went down every tackle in his own half? I don't think so.

Not sure why you have the issue with it. You are not the ref who has to watch that.

I mean among other issues, falling dramatically would be the least issue you should take.

What a weird stance by you. Youre very very defensive regarding my opinions against Bruno going down easily.

And yes there are other issues, but this is the Bruno thread. Do you want me to talk about Fred, or Ole, or AWB in this thread? Bizarre responses by you on this.

Disappointing display form Bruno today. The number of times he lost possession is inexcusable.

No, it is just that you took an issue with dramatic fall instead of other shortcomings he had in this game.

It is like trying to make a non issue being big issue here which didn't impact the game in any meaningful way.

Because its not only this game its happened, surely you understand this?
Its a bruno thread, and ive made my comments on what i find frustrating about him.

For some reason youve taken it personally that ive criticised Bruno, which is bizarre. I get you not agreeing with me, but its bizarre that youve taken issue with me being frustrated that Bruno does this.

For the last time, I just found it amused that you took his dramatic fall as your issue as you stated. I don't think I am the one who is taking as personal here.

Given similar fouls were given in the same game, I thought the one on Bruno was a foul.

I also think that if that was on any other United player, the ref would have blown his whistle

Don’t know how many times it needs to be said but he needs to stop masquerading as a striker and actually get in midfield. When he does we improve. Even today when he dropped back and gave better options than what he was doing first half we improved.
For large sections of the game we pretty much ran a 1 man midfield of Fred with Matic the CB and Fernandes the striker and there were next to no options for Fred other than a risky pass. Fred’s passing today was shocking as well, but pretty much a similar pattern to what was happening last season in games like this.
