I don't think he will join city. But he will be approached by city then it will be hard to turn down at this stage of his career.

As I said it's all about money and players have all the power to choose wher they want to be.

Fans only have this loyalty to club and all. Once Frank done city shirt in his twilight years I am done with this player loyalty thingy. Thanking Frank for not done Spurs or arsenal shirt. That's all I could say at that time.
He won't join them over his relationship with Sir Alex, and he was asked in an interview about this not long ago and said he would rather play in Qatar as he doesn't need the money. I would do a swap for Martial if I am honest, the guy attitude hasn't changed one bit from last year and 1 season of Ronnie back then go for Haaland next season  would be a stroke of genius for those at the top.

I’d think last season shows Juventus is on decline while Ronaldo doesn’t have the time to go through rebuild period with them. Their brand of football is too slow and defensive which doesn’t suit Ronaldo’s game at all too. He still scores a lot there though, but imagine number of goals Ronaldo would score in dominating/attacking side.
I guarantee that Juve will have a massively superior season without him. While Juve's season wasn't Ronaldo's fault, he didn't really improve the team either despite his goals. His being at Juve was a financial and performance net negative for them.

Why would he play in Qatar if he doesn’t need the money? Why not Sporting Lisbon or something in that case? Qatar is a weird example to use

It was just something he said as the interviewer was asking him and wanting an answer probably to with football in Qatar is abysmal and only money motivated which is why he compared it to going to City. Not that our League is rubbish on the contrary but that he wouldn't go City for all the money they would offer him he was probably trying to say in a nice way.

I think your overestimating loyalty in football. Theres alot of stories from various sources coming out about the possibility of Ronaldo going to city. Mendes wouldnt be doing all the ground work unless Ronaldo had given the potential move his blessing.

Theres every chance city are encouraging mendes and ronaldo so they can put pressure on levy and kane. Theres so many agendas in football, who knows.

City refusing to pay £21m transfer fee

At that price I'd expect Arsenal to be after him

Don't think this will happen but Kane to City is deffo dead. Even City's first offer was 'only' £75m + £25m in add-ons with no players involved, I think they were hoping from the beginning that Kane's camp will be able to somehow push that transfer.

The great player we saw at United and Madrid is not so great anymore. You can clearly see age and effects of many years of physical endeavours have caught up with him. He is only good in the penalty area these days. Basically playing from his vast experience and positional know-how in the penalty area. Personally, I wouldn't care less if went to City or even Liverpool.

It’s never that simple. Both Barca and PSG has a relatively poor season last season, would you think both Messi and Neymar/Mbappe was a financial and performance net negative for Barca/PSG too?

How'd you work that out?

The rumours are that City have been offered Ronaldo by Mendes. Not that City are perusing him.

I still expect Mbappe > Real Madrid and Ronaldo > PSG.

I also expect Kane > City

I wouldn't be too worried in terms of what he can offer them. But i'd be really disappointed that it'd taint his time with us and how he's viewed.

I can't see it happening though.

I could only speak for myself, but I would still cheer for him when he scores, except against us.
Anyway he is not the first United legend moving to City, Denis Law and big Pete did before him, their legendary status didn’t really diminish even after the played for them (at least for me).

I think Kane is now resigned to the fact he's staying at Spurs. Social media suggests he's working hard behind the scenes and there are suggestions City are offering nowhere near Spurs crazy valuation.

Exactly, schmeichel is still a legend. Law scored the goal that relegated Utd while playing for city. He's still a utd legend.

My thoughts on Ronaldo wouldnt change if he joined city. City wouldnt be getting that lighting fast winger, or the muscular powerhouse he was at madrid. They will be getting a 37 year old penalty box poacher.

I don't get it! How could you cheer a goal Ronaldo scores for our direct rivals? Surely this impacts United directly.

This is so weird and revolting. You will feel happy every time our rival scores? I just cannot wrap my head around this. You are more of a Ronaldo fan than a Man Utd fan and honestly you're better off supporting a club Ronaldo plays at. The case for Denis Law and Peter Schmeichel could be made at that time was City was a much smaller club so they were not our direct rival and threat so we didn't really care but Ronaldo moving to City, our direct rival for the title will definitely be a betrayal.

United got relegated due to the teams' performance over the season. It was inevitable they would have gone down even if Law had not scored that goal.

So in hypotetical situation you would cheer Cristiano goal which could prevent United from taking the title.

Kane makes City much stronger than Ronaldo would in my opinion.
Kane isn’t a better player than Ronaldo. Even in his current iteration he’s quicker than Kane, better in the air and better off-the ball with his movement. He’d fit City like a glove, especially with creative forces like KDB, etc in the team. Literally the only thing Kane has over him is age.

If you cheer City goals then you’re a City fan. There’s no way of hiding that, it’s not goals but you’ll be hoping he plays well etc.
They didn’t join our direct rivals for the title. Ronaldo will be actively putting himself in the way of Utd and success and he can get fecked if he does.

It's a fecking absolute tragedy if it's even remotely true. For years we try to get him back to OT and the one time we don't need him so much then before. He's free.

The fact he wants to go to City is enough for me to damage his reputation with the club. Whether he goes or not, damage is done

If it was a case of we said no and then he is shopping himself around that's very different. But it seems like he wants City only

In truth, we don’t know for sure what’s happening behind the scenes..
