If we're about to address the main issue in the team - midfield - then I'm all for this.

If we're not, it won't change much.
we were never getting Camavinga or the likes of Grealish, Kane clearly wasn't interested in United. We need some experience if we couldn't get quality youngsters. Who better than the best of all time? And for £23m - they'll get that back in shirt sales before the next home game. I agree that we still need a CM - but I can't see who we were going to get.

If we get Halaand next summer. Ronaldo can play the role Cavani has at the moment. And who knows - this move might get Declan Rice to turn down Chelsea and come to us (he's definitely go9ing to leave West Ham soon)

Ok I'm stupid but really why does this deal looks 'expensive' to some? Let's say we pay all the addons = €23m
Then you count in his wages, let's asume €466k per week (400k GBP).
For two years you get a guaranteed top scorer for a total of €23m + (104 weeks* €466k) = around €71m.

Then you compare that total fee (for two years) to DVB(€40m) and Fred (€50m) which were their signing fees only not including their wages!
So how is this deal bad exactly?

Also does it really prevent us from signing Haaland? if we sell other forwards, we'd still have to bring in someone somehow. Cavani only has 1 year left. On top of that if Haaland decides to join other club next season, we'll be left with Martial and Greenwood up front. Not good at all. In that case we'll most likely have to bring in another senior striker whose quality can't be better than Ronaldo. So why not do it now?

the longest loan deal in history finally comes to an end.

But in all seriousness it’s terrible business, we do not need a goal scorer. We need a CDM, we need to allow our young players to develop and prosper and now Ronaldo and Cavani will be ahead of Greenwood, also what about Amad? People used to talk about no direction with our signings this is a return to that. It’s done simply to for marketing and to appease fans.

I was very excited for his return until around 2013, up until 2016 I thought he’d improve us. Now I genuinely think he’d hinder our long term progression.

Howard Nurse says United have seen Ronaldo in Lisbon and are about to finalise his transfer from Sporting.

Ronaldo just said in lisbon after landing on Portuguese TV after the question "Where will you play next season": "You will know in one hour".

A bit differently.....11 men camped on their own goal line rather than 10!
That won't work either. You can't sit back against a guy that can shoot so well from range, you have to get out and leave space behind you.

I remember actually getting my hopes up back then. Six years. Worth it though, timing was just brilliant. Fergie had to come out and save him.

It's 4-3-3 time. feck a midfield.

Fred, you're going to have a lot of work to do.

AWB feel free to never even think about crossing the halfway line.

I'm not bothered about some glory signing, like Kane or Grealish but DM was arguably our biggest issue going into this season and it's still an issue. There are good quality, attainable DMs available and signing one of those is more important than bringing Ronaldo back.

If we manage both - amazing. If this is our business done, we're still flawed in a key area.

Pogba and Bruno to sit deep and play Pirlo type passes to Rashford, Sancho and Rashford.

That front 3 is outrageous.
Imagine signing Ronaldo and not being able to squeeze him into your side because of having 2 Rashfords

Ronaldo will contribute millions to our commercial department and merchandising.

Not to mention he scores more goals than any of our forwards.
