Hmm. I think it's partly fitness. The whole of last year he kept playing on and off and yet looked very threatening when he came on as a sub. I thought he had stamina issues or long COVID or something.Mane had a much better output. Mane wasnt as fancy, but was a level above at Southampton easily. Saint Maximin is good with the ball and looks threatening, but not often enough something good happens at the end of it.
Dont think he is good enough for a top team. I'd say Wolves, West Ham, Everton. That is his level currently.
Mane had ~0.55 G+A p90 playing for a Southampton that finished 6th / 7th (they had VVD, Alderweirld etc. as part of their side).
Saint Maximin had ~0.4 G+A p90 for a much worse Newcastle side.
I don't think he'll be very far away if he stays fit and starts 30+ games this season.
