I wonder if he’ll be given more time than the others when you’ve still not won the title a few years down the line! :D
I know this is an attempt at hilarious banter but I genuinely think all the massive majority want is a team that we like, that plays or tries to play good football and over time, look to win things again.

I hope he does well. I've always thought that a strong Man Utd team is a great for the league and English football, I want to see as many strong teams and contenders as possible.

Another reason why I really want Utd to do well, is that their various ex-players turned pundits are incredibly boring to listen to when they are struggling, saying the same things, cliches, buzz words after each poor performance.

Predictably I've seeing more and more comments about Ten Hag has only proved himself in a 'weak league'. Firstly while I'm not pretending to be an expert on Dutch football or the Eredivisie, the club hadn't won the league title during the any of the 3 previous seasons before he took charge. Secondly nearly taking a club with a lower wage bill than that of 18 out of the 20 Premier League clubs at the time into a Champions League final, outplaying Bayern in the group stages before knocking out Real and Juve, was incredible. Their budget at the time was less than a third of Tottenham's (I actually saw that semi-final result being used as an argument in favour of Poch), who narrowly edged them out on away goals.

He really need a "fresh" start. Which means if he goes into the season with the same fullbacks and midfielders, I don't think he'd make a big difference to how we play. It's like the current lot already has this shit playstyle and bad mentality engraved into their heads.

That's really key in today's game. Most top sides have fullbacks who are as good as traditional wingers in their attacking side of the of the game. We have lacked in this department during every manager's spell since Sir Alex.

Massive rebuild ahead. Hopefully this means 10 new first teamers in within 2 years, and most of the current squad gone. I really hope United make a statement this summer as well by selling a "star" player this summer like Rashford, Bruno or Maquire. This is what big clubs do when they dont fit in. Stop giving everyone a new chance year after year.

True. Even Pep or Klopp wouldn't turn AWB into an attacking FB for example. Can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Even with a proper preseason there is only so much you can do with these players. We need to sign maybe as many as 10 new players over the next 2-3 years. And that assumes a high success rate in the transfer market. Our best outfield player recently is our oldest player.

Hopefully ETH can add 4 new signings this summer and get something out of Varane, Shaw, Bruno, Ronaldo, Fred and Sancho. CDM and RW are the most pressing needs.

Defence clearly top priority for him, even over midfield now. He also needs to improve on passing accuracy (too many balls under/over hit constantly), shooting accuracy and just generally coach this rabble (well those who want it). They also need to stop running into players as well.

I also don't buy into this mathematically possible crap. Let's just play the youth for last four games so we can see who is capable.

He really does have a huge job ahead of him. Excited about his appointment though; it finally feels as if the club is moving in the right direction. I'm certainly not expecting any instant success, and I can envisage it taking him maybe 2 or 3 seasons before we are properly challenging.

The task ahead for him is monumental! Just to get the players interested would be a task in itself. And that’s for the ones he will keep which I hope to feck it’s not many.
Just a horrible team to watch, checked out long ago and I just hope that the ETH appointment is a turning point, the point where he says

“right you, you want to be here? “No” “Right there’s the door, Gluck”
“what about you?” “Yes I love this club” “right pull your socks up, I want no passengers here, you will work and sweat for this badge”

wont hold my breath, HOPE is a killer.

NEC are putting up quite a game.

Ajax missing a couple here i see. Always having a target (Haller) to aim for in the box is really beneficial

Better defending from Ajax compared to how easily we wilted under pressure from Arsenal.

Ajax are not looking fluid today. Current display looks more like us than the revered Champions League outfit we have all come to love.

Gravenberch and Kenneth Taylor looking good. Berghuis is underwhelming on the right.

Thought he looked awful in the cup final.

He's on the right again. His best games this season have been as a 10, but Antony is injured so he's back at what is actually his original position. A front 3 of Haller, Berghuis and Tadic is rubbish though, no depth or pace at all.

Currently losing against AZ. PSV could close within a point with 2 games left if they beat Feyenoord later.
