The cars are fine. Not particularly attractive given that they look like giant dinosaur eggs sawed in half, but functionally they are very popular. The supercharger network is also a massive selling point.Surprised people still buy his piece of shit cars. They’re going to be absolutely decimated once the big auto guys go full electric. They’re not well built cars Raoul. The tech is good, but the cars themselves are horrendous. “Made in the good ol us of a”.The cars are fine. Built in Shanghai, Freemont, Austin and soon to be Berlin. I think they're ugly personally (with the possible exception of the new Model S), but I struggle to find a better EV in terms of the car plus supercharging network infrastructure combo. That said, I'll probably end up with the new BMW EV.They’re not well built cars Raoul. The tech is good, but the cars themselves are horrendous. “Made in the good ol us of a”.
You're surely not a car person are you? American built cars have been some of the highest quality for a decade or so now. This isn't the late 90s/early 2000s anymore. They’re not well built cars Raoul. The tech is good, but the cars themselves are horrendous. “Made in the good ol us of a”.
Even on tech, many car makers are quickly catching up. The area where Tesla is light years ahead is in still having its own proprietary supercharging network, whereas all the others have to rely on a patchwork of third party charging stations. You're surely not a car person are you? If you're talking about Tesla's though, yes they are a little poorly built but you're essentially paying for tech. I'm not a fan of Teslas but I'm not gonna knock them for the market they serve
True that. Model3 base price for the tech is still pretty good but likely won't last long as suchEven on tech, many car makers are quickly catching up. Interesting, is this something you've experienced yourself or just the general news? They've improved the build quality (inc panel gaps) as they ramp up and improved the new factories plus the new single cast shell (Model Y) is very different from their first versions. That said, they aren't built like a BMW. That may be down to supply of materials, weight and costs, for example there are aftermarket providers that will add more sound insulation material in the doors - so you have to wonder why Tesla haven't done that. It may be a different story with the new Model X and S which is their premium range.Surprised people still buy his piece of shit cars. In the UK and I think across Europe the supercharger network has now been opened to other cars (not all stations yet) - was announced the other day. Interesting move, has a downside but they may bring in additional revenue from the usage and it fits in with the vision of EV adoption.Even on tech, many car makers are quickly catching up. A private company being miles ahead of state funded one? Well I'll be.Agreed, I'm not sure what it is but somehow he's founded a company in SpaceX which is way ahead of the competitors. It's not money, because Blue Origin was founded beforehand and they're still about a decade behind plus SpaceX are way ahead of NASA at the moment. Whoever they have designing is a genius, but it's not Musk doing that. Whether he's pushing the business to keep on innovating so is worthwhile is another thing.
It was also super nice of Tesla to make sure the connectors were the same as other EVs in Europe. In the UK and I think across Europe the supercharger network has now been opened to other cars (not all stations yet) - was announced the other day. Don't think it's fair to say that SpaceX are way ahead of NASA. SpaceX is one of many companies working for NASA, to do stuff NASA no longer thinks it should do. Maybe it was wrong of them to do that, but NASA certainly does a lot more than SpaceX in the grand scheme of things.Agreed, I'm not sure what it is but somehow he's founded a company in SpaceX which is way ahead of the competitors. That's fair, but I was comparing in terms of what SpaceX do which is build launch vehicles and they are a long way ahead in that. It's not entirely true there's no overlap as NASA are still attempting to get SLS finished and when they do it won't be a regularly used launch vehicle due to the cost, is years behind schedule, and will have a direct competitor in the Super Heavy.Don't think it's fair to say that SpaceX are way ahead of NASA. https://www.reuters.com/technology/...cut-staff-by-10-pauses-all-hiring-2022-06-03/SAN FRANCISCO, June 2 (Reuters) - Tesla (TSLA.O) CEO Elon Musk has a "super bad feeling" about the economy and wants to cut about 10% of jobs at the electric carmaker, he said in an email to executives on Thursday seen by Reuters.
The message came two days after the world's richest man told employees to return to the workplace or leave the company.
Tesla employed around 100,000 people at the end of 2021, according to its annual SEC filing.
So much for having the largest market share. He wants to fire 10% of Tesla employees?

This guy is such a monumental wanker, isn't he? Plenty of billions available to buy Twitter, but feck those 10,000 guys that work for his company, he can't afford to pay them.He wants to fire 10% of Tesla employees?

Yeah I know he started a very limited pilot program in Holland about 6 months and has now apparently expanded to a few other countries in Europe. Long term, it may be a strategic move to offset Tesla's reduced EV market share revenue by using the Supercharger network to charge non-Tesla owners more than Tesla owners to recharge at SC locations, thereby further incentivizing them to switch to Teslas. That would be an expected strategic move for a company that knows it will lose market share in the coming years as all the others catch up.In the UK and I think across Europe the supercharger network has now been opened to other cars (not all stations yet) - was announced the other day. His bullshit con artist fooled a lot of smart people who wanted to work in space/aviation join Space-XHis bullshit con-artist shtick is great for fooling investors and capital funding but I'd at least say a company like SpaceX sends up a rocket. Holmes knew from day one that her product was all bullshit.
In no way a defence of Elon, his tunnel scam is very Liz Holmes like. And I wish he'd just feck off to some remote island and let the actual professional people of SpaceX run themselves. like all glory hunters his influence is always greatly over represented.
A private company with public funding.A private company being miles ahead of state funded one? Well I'll be.
companies that have their entire value based on hype/vibes and no justifiable product for that market value tend to suffer the worst in even mild economic slowdowns. For the likes of elon and tesla, their entire justification for obtaining power/influence/wealth is stock price over product. So if inflation bites and the economy slows, mirage companies are the first to feel it. In any slowdown investors will look for safety and when that happens you look for product value over vibes. The man has a super bad feeling about the economy
Does he have insider knowledge?
Are the boom times over? His comments have made me wary of investing in the markets
He should just refrain. Would avoid getting constantly bitchslapped online.
