He's so inept, as the world's richest man, he can't even buy a middling social network.

Shows how poor a businessman he actually is.

Editing my own posts.
1) it’s horrible. it looks like a 4 year old with a protractor designed it. Literally the dumbest idea of a good looking car.

2) It looks absolutely nothing like anything in Blade Runner… if anything it looks like something out of Robocop. A deliberately parodical film about stupid capitalist assholes.

3) wanting the future to be like noted miserable dystopia Blade Runner is weird

I keep wondering if this thing will even be legal on the road? Surely it'll fail safety tests because pedestrians will get destroyed by that thing.
Have you been to the states? They have 4x4 trucks on the road the size of buses there so I have no doubt it will be approved for road usage there.

That's fair enough.
That's not to say it doesn't look complete shit and isn't obscenely big. Also given the demographic of people who own trucks... I'd be incredibly surprised if there is a market for an electric one, never mind an electric one that looks like it was made for a 1999 school science project on future cars.

If you beleive the rumours they have had over 1 million reservations but don't think they have released numbers properly themselves. They recently stopped taking reservations from Europe and UK.

Rivian and Ford have already launched their EV versions.

It will be a key market but I suspect cost and supply will be the most limiting factor.

If I remember well, those reservations cost you nothing and you could cancel it any time. It's just playing with numbers like everything is regarding Elon companies

I believe 100 dollars that you could ask back. They basically had a 100 million loan free of interests

Not exactly comparable, but I remember that Pan Am took reservations for travel to the moon at once point

Musk is a turbo goon but the Cyber Truck is a fun retro-futuristic design, even if it’s obviously daft. He didn’t design it guys.

U.S. authorities are escalating and expanding a probe into Tesla’s controversial automated driving feature in a move that could prompt a mandatory recall.
On Thursday, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, an agency under the guidance of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, said it would be expanding a probe and look into 830,000 Tesla cars across all four current model lines, 11% more vehicles than they were previously examining.

The move came after the agency analyzed a number of accidents that revealed patterns in the car’s performance and the associated driver’s behavior, concluding that the findings warranted an upgrade to an "Engineering Analysis" from a previous "Preliminary Evaluation." An Engineering Analysis can be the precursor to a recall.

It said the purpose of escalating the investigation was to “explore the degree to which Autopilot and associated Tesla systems may exacerbate human factors or behavioral safety risks by undermining the effectiveness of the driver’s supervision.”

Initially the probe started last year in response to Tesla vehicles mysteriously plowing into the scene of an existing accident where first responders were already present. On Thursday, NHTSA said it had discovered in 16 separate instances when this occurred that Autopilot “aborted vehicle control less than one second prior to the first impact,” suggesting the driver was not prepared to assume full control over the vehicle.

This is the stupidest con the rich & powerful have managed to pull on the thickos out there. That they speak for the working man whilst simultaneously not even hiding their elitism and disdain for the poor.

I love Trump because he doesn't hold anything back, he says it like it is.

I love Bush because he's the sort of guy you could have a beer with.

I love Boris because he's a real person, he's not perfect and he knows it. He doesn't care about his appearance, he just tries to get things done.

Jim Jefferies did a good bit on this. Something that comes down to, the fact that he uses simple and short words that you understand doesn't mean he's a straight talker.

I wish we would come up with a better alternative to democracy. Most of us are clearly unfit to vote.

Still waiting for the Youthquake
Would that fly in a court though? Which jury or judge will side with Tesla when they hear the driver had literally 1 second to take control?
But they could have taken control at any time and should be ready and capable of taking control at all times

Pr wise it will be a disaster for Tesla... Well ok like an average musk meltdown probably

Legally though I suspect they are on solid ground

Worst case scenario would be that there is a recall to remove the tech and technically they could disable it via an update so wouldn't have to physically do that ... If that did happen though would make it very hard for them to get it approved elsewhere... Would possibly see through the roof insurance premiums in countries where they had not disabled and would almost certainly see a lot of people want their money back as the auto drive is a pretty expensive add on

Hey, my democracy works pretty well. It's not my fault the Anglos ruined it (even if they've both got some claim to starting it). The Dutch one isn't too bad either, right?
