Not especially. He’s the Barca Athletic guy but whenever I’ve listened to him I’ve never left feeling he has any particular insight. Is Dermot Corrigan trustworthy?
Absolutely despise is more accurate, so as one of the uber confident ones what is finally going to tip this in our favour thenI think Sport are obsessed with Chelsea. They obviously hate United with a passion and aren't shy on the fact.
They're literally the only ones saying Chelsea are in for him. They must know something our journos here doesn't, or maybe they're just chatting crap... yeah that's it haha
Yeah leaves out doesn't want to leave because knows he won't get paid otherwiseIf what Romano said today on his youtube channel is correct, the situation has not changed. FDJ doesn't want to leave Barcelona and is not accepting a pay cut.
Even with a reliable outlet like the Athletic reporting it, some people will still bury their head in the sand until the club either brief that it's over or the window closes with nothing happening.Tweet

He doesn’t want to come.
According to the app this article was published 9 hours ago.Why are people acting like this isn`t the same information from this morning?
Yes and I posted direct quotes from the article from a Utd aggregator account on Twitter but there wasn`t any negative reception to it.According to the app this article was published 9 hours ago.
The athletic is great and all but the best spanish sources don't go there. He's an English speaking Spanish source for the athletic. Just like the athletic won't have the best sources for Madrid/Bayern/Ajax/Juve etc. The Athletic is the best for premier league clubs, but past that, nothing special I would say.Not especially. He’s the Barca Athletic guy but whenever I’ve listened to him I’ve never left feeling he has any particular insight.
I mean, they're not that unlikely scenarios are they?Doesn't seem to be any inside information or source behind the Dermot Corrigan article. It's just speculation and pro-Barca propaganda from another outlet looking for clicks.
"From the Barcelona dressing room, a move from Barcelona to Manchester United seen as a step down" - from De Jong? No, they do not say this. "From the Barca dressing room"
"De Jong is likely to share Ronaldo's view on playing in the Europa League." - this is just speculation
"The Atlhetic has been told he did not have a particularly special relationship with ETH." - completely vague statement and they have been told by who? Frenkie?
No sane journalist would name any sources.Doesn't seem to be any inside information or source behind the Dermot Corrigan article. It's just speculation and pro-Barca propaganda from another outlet looking for clicks.

That's what I'm trying to keep hold of. We must've had some assurances all summer.Guys before you go all soppy brained again let’s engage those brains and think logically. Do you honestly think ETH would have them there hanging in without receiving some sort of assurances/encouragement? All this other shot is being pumped out by Barca’s side. They are trying to make him say that he wants to leave so he’d forgo any bonuses etc plus they are trying to drag out any potential other buyers
Nah. The Athletic is great for the premier league, but the best sources for foreign clubs are from their own native papers, not a random British guy reporting on Barca.Yeah worrying source
The only thing that I can think of is the club surely wouldn't put all it's eggs into this basket, stick in it so long, if there wasn't some internal indication that FdJ would be willing to move.I keep reading posters stating 'FDJ hasn't stated anywhere he doesn't want to join us' My reposte would be: can you show me anywhere he has stated he does wants to join us?
It's time to move on and find someone else, albeit not as good, but surely an improvement on our current CM options! We have wasted the last 10 wks and I fear we will waste the next 5 also.
Given that Ten Hag and the board have prioritized him for so long, you can bet that he is open to joining. We stopped going after Timber right when he made his mind up. We are still pushing for Frenkie. Ten Hag would have spoken to him of course and I'm sure will keep enough contact to know if it's time to move on or not. So as long as we are interested, I don't see a single reason to think he isn't willing to come, if their impasse can be sorted.I keep reading posters stating 'FDJ hasn't stated anywhere he doesn't want to join us' My reposte would be: can you show me anywhere he has stated he does wants to join us?

Yeah that's the only thing keeping me feel positive, just hopes the likes of Whitwell/Ornstein don't retweet this articleThat's what I'm trying to keep hold of. We must've had some assurances all summer.
Do you not think De Jong could have just been stringing ETH along or at least not being clear enough either way to ensure the interest doesn’t wane from United?Guys before you go all soppy brained again let’s engage those brains and think logically. Bored of This Thing: Return of the (Muppet) KingBack from my holiday and ready to help steer this muppet train to its final destination. Chooo chooooooo!
Man, I was going to post this.
Perfect choice of emojis/ 70% of the forum think hang in there until completion or at least till ETH decides to pull the plug.
17.5% think it’s time to walk away from the situation
14.5% are easily embarrassed in life
As things currently are, Man Utd are a step down from Barcelona. Look at the team Barcelona are going to field next year (probably!). They will be competing for the CL title and the La Liga title. Man Utd will be competing for a Champions League spot. That's the truth of it. It hurts, but let's be realistic.Doesn't seem to be any inside information or source behind the Dermot Corrigan article. Well yeah explaining jokes is the death of comedyThat is what I meant, thank you. I just felt if I had tried to break it down in the way you just broke it down, it wouldn't have had the same desired effect.
But if any "newbie" was offended by my comment, I apologise. We've all been wet behind the ears at some point.
