I'm really worried for the UK now.
The Queen is the last pillar of strength and her presence has been felt through the ages

The UK has a weak PM and no queen !

fecking worrying
From one Liz to another. It'll be alright (apart from the recession and blackouts).

Where? Maybe on BBC news but otherwise no.
In France it will be France 2 and TF1, every documentary of the Queen ever produced will be broadcasted for weeks.

I reckon you're the one going a bit overboard. Or you're joking.
I hate that institution but its obvious this is a momentous moment in this countries history. Over 30 million people are tuned into the BBC right now in the UK.

Absolute monster of a human, went through changed times and changed landscapes in all matters possible.
End of an era. Well deserved rest.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II

Of course it's newsworthy, no doubt. Similar to the Pope dying for example. But it won't be anywhere close to the most significant moments this century for anyone outside of those 15 countries, and likely not even for those inside
Yeah I’d agree with that. It’s a huge moment for me though.

I’m British (Scottish) but have never felt a great affinity towards the royals and they’ve essentially just been a part of my upbringing. Given she’s the only monarch I’ve ever known it’s certainly notable for me. I can see why it might be a ‘*shrug* oh well’ response for those not directly associated.

You think so? I think the American press will beg to differ.
Hm, they'll milk it if nothing major pops up but I wouldn't be surprised if Tiafoe winning the US open is the major story, should that occur.

The UK will mourn officially and BBC will wank themselves silly but normal people won't care unless the Tories want to cover another round of bullshit stories.

Its only worrying if people start being weird about it. It doesn’t change anything in reality.
This is pretty much it for me.

On a human level, I feel sad for her family, because losing a loved one is absolutely rubbish. Can't take that away from them, no matter who it is or however old they are. Yes, a person has lived a long life, but I fully appreciate how sad or difficult it can be to know that somebody is not there anymore, when all you've ever known is for them to have been there. That's tough.

But that's as far as I go with it and that's the only level I see this on.

I can totally understand your point and it must feel monumental in Britain. It will also be headline news over here for a while but it won't last. After over 70 years this will of course be one of the bigger moments for years in Britain, no doubt

Hopefully the end of the monarchy. Charles just doesn't have the charisma that Elizabeth had.

You can't think of anything that's happened in the last few months that would make you worried more than the fecking Queen passing away?

I just don’t want Charles’ face on the money. He’s an ugly cnut.

Her funeral and Charles’ coronation will be huge over here.

Ok. So the Queen is gone, and good riddance, don't you think it's time to get rid of the fecking monarchy? What is this, the Middle Ages?
feck sake. What an appalling post.

I hope someone bans this bastard.
