As much as I dislike AWB as a player he's far better than Dalot.

Dalot is one of the worst full backs I can remember ever playing for United.

AWB sums up our DNA:
Mediocre? Check.
Expensive? Check.
Lazy? Check.
Gets better every time he doesn't play? Check.
Gets worse every time he does play? Check.

No matter who plays RB, AWB should leave the club asap.

He's not good, but there's simply no argument for Dalot being better than him.

He's never showed anything in the Premier League.

Should be brought back in.

Or promote someone else.

Best right back in the league after Trent and Reece James, on par with Kyle Walker.

Always said he should start.

Rumours on Twitter he’s agreed personal terms with Palace after meeting Vieira yesterday.

Hopefully able to recoup 15m?

We are soo shafted at RB between AWB and Dalot, I feel this is a signing we need as much as we needed a DM.

for a while I thought AWB was getting better, but then he got so much worse

I’d be tempted to play him and just let him slide tackle Diaz to death. It’s so crazy it just might work.

Unless we have a replacement signed up or someone is paying €30m plus, I would keep him.

Genuinely think he is a lot more solid than Dalot and his ability to break opposition play is underrated. Would like to see Varane, Lindelof, AWB and a fit shaw on LB.

Saw him skip around three Liverpool players, was almost selling my soul to ETH. Turns out it was Martial from the right back position. Oh well.

Pleased to see him get some minutes. I know he's not a great wing back but I have a soft spot for AWB. He's had some outstanding games for us from a defensive pov, I remember this game against PSG for example:

There are alot of areas in his game that's lacking for the role he's playing. But when it comes to sliding tackles, defending with your body and 1 on 1, I think he's excellent.

There's a good player in there and in certain games there is a use case for him. Just look at how well he does against Mbappe and Neymar in that game.

I think thats his best asset. The problem is a lot of the other stuff. Like some of his choice in passing. Or even his positioning. Seen him get caught out so many times and im not sure if its concentration or not.
Also the one thing I hate is how he jogs (either jogging back or just seems to stroll out to a player which basically nullifies him)

No I completely agree with everything you're saying there. Even raheem sterling awb always used to have him in his pocket most games.

He doesn't fit the modern right wing back type role but he's an excellent defender on the ground and can still do a job in certain instances.

I have no issue with him being our back RB. The lad knows how to defend and I think EtH is astute enough to get some semblance out of positional and attacking play out of him for him to be useful when Dalot needs a rest.

Last night saw pretty much exactly how he should be used. Coming on to add steel to a flagging defence as we sit on a lead. Only problem is that limits him to what, 5-10 games?

Is he not fully fit? I know this is arguably our toughest opponent in our group but surely expected him to start.

If he can't even be trusted to be back up RB what's the point in keeping him around?

Not a fecking chance this guy can be worse at RB than Lindelof was.

I hope ETH was just experimenting last night to see if Lindelof can pull it off, and will never attempt it again. fecking dire.

ETH will gladly play a boulder at fullback before starting him. Even Stevie wonder saw this freeze-out coming months ago.

His small complaint was he didn’t like controlling footballs.

If there was ever a damning verdict of how shit ETH thinks AWB is, it was him playing a mediocre centre back in the RB position last night and even then refusing to bring AWB when Lindelof was playing shit.

Didn't the board want to keep him this summer? I dont think that was ETH's idea

ETH should give him a few games because he was unfair to him. I can't see how he's worse than Dalot.

I think you need to open your eyes if you struggle to see this badly. AWB is a completely failed project. He should never even have been one when he cost 50 million quid, but he is unbelievably bad.

I think he wanted both Lindelöf and Maguire to get the full 90 (they are, after all, immediate backup options to our starting CB pair).

I don't think he sees Lindelöf as a plausible RB option, as such.

In general, people are reading far too much into what happened yesterday in terms of individual players (and positions/roles).

It was the Europa. ETH does not prioritize the Europe (and he shouldn't).

Its a failure of the club that he's still here. Within a week of Ten Hag joining the club, the journos were briefed that he was surplus.
