I'm the opposite. Turned the combat down to easy in Zero because it was ruining my enjoyment - I'd rather steamroll it and enjoy the story (which is the main appeal of the series really).
Opposite indeed, I always play stuff on hard, because I can't enjoy games unless they also infuriate me for being too difficult.

I've never liked turn based combat. Which makes me skeptical over how much I'll enjoy Like a Dragon
If you like Yakuza for the combat, you won't like this I'd say. If you like it, because it's silly, but also with an amazing story and weird minigames, you'll like it just fine.

What are good in person co-op games that i can get on PS Plus (I have the full version)? My mate is coming over this weekend and would like to play a decent co-op.
It Takes Two is a brilliant platformer. A Way Out mentioned earlier is by the same guys. There's also Overcooked and Moving Out, both games are basically incredibly fecking hectic. There's also the Borderlands games if you wanted something more shooty.

Had been busy for the last couple of weeks, but got a chance to play Returnal again today and finally cleared the third boss. I guess all I needed was some time away from it.
Generally speaking I think this is always best when you're stuck on a game.

Personally I feel I start getting impatient if an area or boss keeps killing me, which then leads to further mistakes as I start to rush.

Coming back with a clear head a while later usually sees me beat the thing that was giving me problems on the first try.

Played Yakuza like a dragon with out playing any of the series or knowing the lore. Feels very slow, but just played for about 30 odd mins, went in blind without any reviews. Mistook it to be a better version of GTA in Japan.

Yakuza is nothing like GTA  If they're like any other game I suppose it's Shenmue, but with a lot of less serious side content.

Not played it but Sleeping Dogs is supposed to be the GTA style game set in China.

Yakuza's completely different (or it was in zero at least)

I like Sleeping Dogs (my first ever platinum, actually). Definitely worth a go, imo.

Not just in a game, but in life too.

Also, I now cleared the fourth biome on the first attempt. It's p!ss easy after the third one.

The game just keeps getting easier from that point i'd say. You'll be back to the 3rd biome at a later point and you'll sail through with it being piss easy. The difficulty curve is just backwards with it starting rock hard and gradually getting easier.

One of the best games ever IMO. I'm not sure how far you are but trust me it gets better.
Not too far I guess but I already know you’re right. It is just getting better. Totally bewitched by the soundtrack too, it’s like a character of its own.

Full weekend of it this weekend, no commitments and sh*t weather, perfect gaming conditions!

I'm jealous. I haven't had a weekend like that in years.

Itching to play Witcher 3 again but I want to wait for the next gen upgrade. It's CD Project Red- so i'll believe it when I see it- but it's still expected for this year according to them

Finished wild hunt, waiting for the update myself to play the DLC'S

On Ghost of turshima right now, it's a really good game.

List of games to play is growing, not even looked at Eldon rings

Do you have to play Nier and the other two (abstract sounding) Drakenguard games to get the full experience or are you able to enjoy the games for what they are?

I always find it hard to play through a game/ read a book or watch something if there is backstory and lore I am missing out on. :(

I haven't actually played the others but from my understanding they're not really related to each other directly but theres a few easter eggs scattered about. Its a self contained story.

That's good to know, I have been interested in playing Automata for a while, but as I said, have trouble jumping into a series if there is lore I will be missing out on, will probably give this a go once I finish my uncountable replay of original FF7 and Crisis core before reunion.

I’ve never played the other games and Automata doesn’t seem to be punishing me for it. The story seems self contained enough for newcomers not to feel sidelined. It’s a really good game. Enjoy.

Been playing astro thing game with the boys recently and it looks so good. Someone on here said its basically ps4 level graphics. Are we any closer to this new machine being at full potential yet? I've had it a year now.
For example astro, if ps4 level would never be possible on the ps3 that I know because I had the 3 for so long. When will the 5 bring out stuff that the 4 would never be able to.

You can see massive leaps in quality between PS4 and ps5 versions of games already.

I bought spiderman miles and it looks amazing because I skipped the 4 but it looks to me only marginally better than the equivalent game on the 4. Is the 5 starting to pull away now then?

Maybe because I skipped the 4 I wasn't aware that early 4 games looked broadly similar to the 3 whereas later 4 games looked so different as much as not possible on the 3?

I think it's clearly more.powerful than the PS4, games are nowhere near hitting their full potential yet as they're made for cross gen, once developers leave the PS4 behind then we will get the most out of it.

There's also a name for it I think, but we are getting to the point we can't have massive leaps as often as we used to, we are closer to photorealism now than we are to pixelated games. So it'll slow down a bit.
