Well he is clearly wrong, as I have been saying in my other posts here, and he should be punished for that. But it doesn’t warrant 15 pages of discussion with so much negativity and overly dramatic statement.

At the end of the day, we won the game convincing, we should celebrate the win instead. I’d say just ban him for next game or fine him for 1 week wages for lack of professionalism (on missing 3 mins of bench time), that would be more than enough.
that's the issue though most of us have though. He knew by walking off like he did, he would be taking away from that win. As you say 15 pages on here, endless newspapers carrying it, pundits discussing it. Best performance in a long, long time against a legit team challenging for top 4 and we speaking about an act of petulance.

The guy was a last thing we needed last year. He destroyed what we were building toward and set us 2 years back. No wonder no one wants him.

And on a night when it shows that the whole squad's hard work is starting to pay off and we're heading in the right direction

Hes betrayed all his team-mates and coaching staff.

Not a fan of him, but what has he actually done? Didnt he go into the locker room after 90 on 2-0? The game was done and just a couple of minutes left?

Whats really so terrible about that? They have tv's in the locker room and he wasnt coming on and it was 90min + on the clock.

Who gives a feck
He’s only here cause no one was willing to pay for him. The sooner we get rid the better. Wouldn’t bother me if he’s banished to the reserves until he fecks off

It's so annoying that the stories are about this and not the great performance last night, but I'm not surprised. It's Ronaldo. Everything he does is analysed to death.

Really poor stuff from him though. It's a dick move to be honest like, just get yourself. Not that we really can afford to drop strikers from the squad right now, but I do not think he can be involved at all at the weekend after that nonsense. An easier decision if Martial is back in the squad, but regardless this cannot be tolerated.
I've read 5 stories about our performance. His antics are real easy to avoid unless you insist on listening to the pundits

It wasn't after 90 minutes and you had subs left.

You can't have subs just deciding to feck off home early when the game is going on when they might be needed.

He left the stadium before the team left the pitch.

Martinez was interviewed after the match by Viaplay and was asked about Ronaldo, which they showed on the Dutch version. He basically said he couldn’t give a shit what he did, which are my thoughts as well. Let’s not let this distract from the performance yesterday and the strides being made under ten Hag. There be bigger disappointments & set backs to come this season as ten Hag slowly builds a winning team than Ronaldo’s behavior.

why?

its the biggest story from the midweek games by a mile
It perpetuates the “circus” that I often see people here complaining about.

Guy had a tantrum and stormed off. Manager said he’ll deal with it. United won convincingly. I don’t think allowing him to monopolise so much of the attention span is conducive of anything good. I do understand it’s discussion worthy, but I kinda just hoped people would ignore his antics - like the manager seemingly does - and let him fade into a smaller talking point until the club is able to part ways.

For transparency, the guy is my favourite player of all time and I hoped he’d buy into being a senior player setting an example and contributing when called upon in a smaller capacity (game time and team focus wise) but he’s seemingly still chasing shadows and personal accolades and apparently not fully aware of his abilities now, so. It is what it is.

Can’t wait to be rid of all the tiresome Ronadlo or any specific player fanboys. The club is far bigger than any player. Even the Ronadlo that was entering his prime and forced his way out of the best team in Europe. I was done with him then and the rest of you should have been too. He was going to sign for city ffs. He’s a tosser

You might be right on that one though. He is causing a bit of drama with his unprofessional act there, but the extent of it was overblown, he was feeding many drama queens here and triggering many all over the top reactions all around.

Yes, he just wanted to be first in the bath, like I he is with most other things! ;)

I noticed throughout the pre-match warm-up he wandered around on his own with a ball, no passing, or chatting, he spoke to no one except Henri and other tv people on his way back to the dressing room ... this is before the game!

Part of me wonders is this the equivalent of SAF's posting negative press comments on the dressing room door to fire up the team, is it ETH saying get out there and show that 'prima-donna' what you can do.

It's all nonsense really... whatever he did or said or didn't say, hope he does it again against Chelsea, get them all fired up...thought Fred was on steroids! :)

Let me tell you what this phone smashing manbaby has done.

He wanted to join our bitter rivals City last year
Waited till mid summer to say he wants to leave while behaving as if he was too good to play for the club because we missed out on champions league football.
Went on strike refusing to turn up to Pre season
His agent did a tour around Europe to pimp him out to every club in the CL.
Came out saying there will be an interview about ‘the truth’, against the ''media lies' which we've yet to se
Against Newcastle started shaking his head and muttering to himself when subbed knowing full well the camera's were panned on him to show his disgust with ETH's decision
Wheeled his older sister out on to undermine ETH through the press where she said “it’s too late in response to ETH saying we need Ronaldo back up to full fitness, accompanied by 3 sick face emojis
Storming out of the stadium against against Rayo
Finally storming down the tunnel during last nights game and refusing to be in the dressing room to celebrate a great victory.
And now he has his minions in the media peddling the narrative that ETH has disrespected him.

Couldn’t care less to be honest, if no one noticed he walked off early he’d probably have done an instagram post about it to make sure we knew. Stop giving him the attention he craves for his negative behaviour.

Could be a good January for us though, moving on Ronaldo and signing a hungry ST. Could galvanise the squad.

He walked out and left Old Trafford completely before the end of the game, not the locker room.

It's essentially the same as fecking off from work early even if you weren't told you can leave because you think you run the place. He should be fined, and kicked out of the dressing room. It's disgraceful to do as a teammate. Even more so when you consider that you had the nerve to fecking do this during the best United performance of the past 10+ years. Can't be happy for his teammates, makes it all about him. It was calculated, and it's disgraceful behaviour. Rip up his contract and let him rot, see who would actually want to take him on.

For me it's a of mix distaste and sadness.

Distaste because leaving the game early is obviously bad.

Sad because Ronaldo has been a generational defining player who cannot accept that his time has come. I don't think he's finished completely, I am sure there are plenty of teams who would love to have him, however he does not fit a modern high pressing team. He doesn't have the pace to create that gap he needs to finish and he hasn't pulled up trees against the teams we've faced in the Europa.

Actually the guy who was on Arenasport, sports channel I was watching the game on (@No Idea For Nickname will now) was saying something about Ronaldo having an earring so he probably doesnt expect to play tonight. I was like, what the hell are you on about, seems guy wasnt far of.

You don't leave the pitch stadium before the final whistle on your own, without the manager knowing or allowing it. You just don't. It's highly unprofessional, especially when all the subs aren't used. Anything can happen and could require your presence on the pitch even for 10 seconds. That's the minimum required from any player on the team sheet.

Taking off like that is basically a "feck y'all, I'm out" to anyone present in the stadium.

Honestly not sure why you try to pretend it is not a big thing?

He walked out after Elanga got a few minutes up top and not him. That action is him saying that EtH is stupid to not pick him.
He is disrespecting the manager with this move. Putting EtH in a difficult spot.

He left early and did not take part of the celebrations with the team.
Poor Martinez got the question afterwards what he thought about Ronaldo leaving early, and he was clearly struggling to find comments for that, just basically said that he didn´t see it so couldn´t comment on it...
He is clearly disrespecting his teammates with that move.

He is disrespecting the club that pays him north of 400 000 pounds per bloody week to represent the club in the best way possible.

He is pissing on the fans that spend their hard earned cash to travel to the stadium to support the team they love through thick and thin. Fans that are partly paying for Ronaldos wages.
Because he just has to show everyone that he is just to good to be left on the bench for a game.

if the team were playing terrible, and not winning you might understand him blowing his top. The fact we won looking the best we have played really doesnt look good on him

Dig up stupid!
Bottom line is his team mates had just produced a brilliant display winning a big game against a league rival and he disrespected them by not staying to congratulate them and celebrating the win with them

If I'm in that squad I'd be livid. If keane or Robson or even neville was club captain now he'd be getting fckin hammered at training for that behavior

Needs to be dropped from the squad for Chelsea
