Thankyou. A sensible post amongst a pile of garbage. I don’t know why people are raging so bad. It’s nothing we don’t know about him. Other than ten hag stuff there’s nothing in that interview which is shocking. People getting angry over him not calling some former players his friends:lol::lol:

Have you actually bothered to read or watch anything to do with this before slagging off the forum? Ronaldo said Rooney was jealous of him and that he is better looking than Rooney (possibly the weirdest flex), that he and Neville use him to get jobs and stay relevant. It'd be great if you bothered to do the absolute minimum bit of prior reading before wading in and spouting shite.

I love people saying "other than the Ten Hag stuff it's not so bad" when the Ten Hag stuff makes it impossible for him to stay at the club. That's really bad.

This is the whole point. For once we get a competent manager and he says he doesn't respect him and throw him under the bus.
I don't care about what he says about his ex team mates. And none here cares either. But it's unacceptable that he said about ETH. He should feck off and should be sacked without any pay.

I guarantee when Ronaldo goes it will be Sancho stepping into the bad egg role. We always seem to have one whether its Pogba, Ronaldo etc. But something about Sancho just seems off to me.

For a player to get so worked up over pundit comments, you have got to be so insecure. It's part and parcel of the game that pundits will say something you don't like if you haven't been playing well. Most players try to channel that into improving, this guy is acting like a child. As some have said on here, he has struggled to acknowledge him getting old and not as good as he used to be. God knows what will happen when he retires.

It's definitely exacerbated it and the fact we can stream any match we want now. Did Maradona have anywhere near as many of these 'player fans'?
Theres going to be a lot of differenting opinions, but in my personal view the veil between player fans and club fans started to shift when David Beckham went to Real Madrid. The worlds most popular player (at the time) being sold in one of the most prolific transfers at the time. Then it mostly trickled for a few years until Facebook/Twitter and Instagram became a "fact of life" application rather than an optional tool some people use now and then. I think Maradona in this example had mostly an entire nation of absolutely devoted fans, but definitely a lot fewer in Europe, where club is and was king.

I think players now having a great deal more power over their careers than used to be the case 2 decades ago might also be a contributing factor.

A charismatic rockstar like Maradona in the modern game would probably be insanely beloved and insanely cancelled and banned from the game. For all his genious he would have made young Mario Balotelli look like Juan Mata with a +10 hugs stat.

A fun sidefact: Maradona actually has a fan made church that exists to this date - The Iglesia Maradoniana
  1. The ball is never soiled.
  2. Love football above all else.
  3. Declare unconditional love for Diego and the beauty of football.
  4. Defend the Argentine shirt.
  5. Spread the news of Diego's miracles throughout the universe.
  6. Honour the temples where he played and his sacred shirts.
  7. Don't proclaim Diego as a member of any single team.
  8. Preach and spread the principles of the Church of Maradona.
  9. Make "Diego" your middle name
  10. Name your first son "Diego"

This thread kinda fleshes out some of the ETH situation on why Ronaldo might feel aggrieved.
Although doesn’t address the digs at Rooney and Neville,
What a terrible attempt at contextualisation. He speaks about being objective and fair, then proceeds to write approximately 850 posts full of the exact opposite.

My favourite part was when he made up something Ten Hag never said, and then proceeded to vilify him for it. Of all the many faults of Twitter, validating stupid people has to be right up there with the worst.

Ah yes it's all friendly banter apart from slagging off your current manager, ex manager, the looks of a ex teammate, another teammate, basically anyone who dare criticise him, the club management (the employer who he's contracted to), the facilities, why we have the same cooking staff, the actual club, attempting to think for the fans and basically making out it's everyone's fault but his. Any other profession, just announcing this stuff on social media and you are out of a job. But yeah other than that, its all fun and games.

Well, of course they do. It was done openly. He was given the preseason off for family reasons. And then in this interview he just says something to get a headline and then completely contradicts it an answer later and starts talking gibberish.

You missed the point. It's the ETH stuff that means he has to go. The stuff about his ex team mates just confirms he's a fecking tosspot. The stuff about the training facilities is old news and just an attempt at populism.

It will be interesting to see what the long term reaction to this circus is in Portugal if they underachieve at this world cup.

Could well be right my friend. He’s already got history with the NT and hasn’t kicked on at Old Trafford. Of course I certainly hope he doesn’t go down this road, there’s talent in there for sure.

Not really. The only thing pathetic here is the conduct of Cristiano. That aside, as has been mentioned repeatedly this is a Manchester United mainly intended for people extremely passionate about the club. So United 'fans' defending this fellow who had decided to go after the manager after behaving like a tit the past 6 months will get called out.

People get called out all the time - see the chaps who drool senseless for Musk or Trump. A collective group of people self moderating has always existed.
Creating an echo chamber isn't self moderating,

Self moderating would be to understand the basis of the situation and to change and adapt depending on it.

In this case it would be to understand that all Ronaldo wants is attention, and to then swing yourself away from that attention and not resort to petty name calling to people who want to defend him.

They are entitled to do so however difficult it might be to comprehend and just because they feel differently about the situation doesn't mean they need to be called out for it.

It seemed that at last the fan base of this club was beginning to pull in one direction, alas some hard truths and rather ill advised personal comments from a player has created division where it really didn't need to.

The fact that we have people calling other fans out for 'defending' Ronaldo is quite frankly disgusting, and you should hang your heads in shame for stooping to a level that is as equally pathetic as this interview.

Thats my original post, the calling out aspect encompasses the pathetic name calling, the singling out of them, the general toxicity. So I haven't pivoted.

By having petty arguments and name calling you are essentially pandering to what Ronaldo wants here, which is attention.

This whole facade is best to be ignored and Ronaldo moved on quickly.
Calling out opinions you disagree with is perfectly fine. Name calling is childish. These two things are completely different and you failed to make that distinction.

If your complaint is purely about name-calling and childish insults you have a point. If you wade in and tell people they shouldn't call out opinions they disagree with then you're being a bit ridiculous quite frankly. I don't really understand how you're trying to claim the two things are the same.

They are entitled to say what they like and others are entitled to react.

He attacked the best manger we've had in years, no matter how justified he feels he is, you don't do that in this manner. It's as close to indefensible as it gets.

Funnily, every "youtube analyst" ignores United with Ronaldo and without Ronaldo to fit their agenda.
Ole's team finished 2nd-3rd before Ronaldo with more goal tally but a season after, Ronaldo was our savior for helping United finished 6th.

Also ETH is very consistent with his approach. No one deserves to start every match until they prove it. Casemiro, 4 times CL winner, missed preseason with United & Real Madrid and hadn't started until recently, rightfully so.
I highly suspect that they don't watch the games, and especially not those that Ronaldo doesn't participate in.

to be honest, this is the most unified on one topic I've seen the United fan-base in years

I would guess that over 95% are in team ETH

We still have people desperately trying to excuse this manchild and that apparently making an interview where you are throwing everyone under the bus while STILL contracted with the club is just a normal thing to do. Guy is a completely arrogant bellend who thinks that the world revolves around him, he has always been like that and will always be. He doesn't give a shite about the team, all he cares about is himself. He still cries when he is being subbed off at 85th minute FFS, even though at this point he can barely move his legs, what else is there to say. I understand it's a very difficult couple of years for Ronaldo fanboys because going from Real Madrid or Juve a couple years back, to being forced to watch us, should be tough but it won't get easier, no good team will take him. Guy is completely finished and instead of going out gracefully, he will ruin his legacy which I am sure he will regret at some point in the future when he is retired.

Don't actually follow what players say or do privately, just see the main headline stuff

So had my doubts about him with the rape allegations and the shady lawyer dealings/notes

Wrote him off when pictured with Jordan peterson

And this last incident, piss him off completely.

What on earth are you chatting about? You know nothing about the player or the person for that matter. Utter tosh.

IF???
Let me introduce my homie Santos.
That immediately suggests the blame will be put on the manager, and not on Ronaldo for making the limited days available in the build up to this winter world cup, all about him and his massive, giant ego and his tiny, shrivelled cock.
