Shit, I got that wrong. The American broadcast said they did win an African tournament but it clearly wasn't that one. What?
Impossible they won afcon, they're in the Asian. FederationThey won the Africa Cup of Nations. They have been grooming this team for quite some time.
Imagine spending way over £220m just to embarrass yourselves in front of the entire world? What have we paid for lads?
they are going to anyway!Nah, it's a bad look if the host nation gets trampled during the opening game.
That must've cost them a fortune! They won the Africa Cup of Nations. They have been grooming this team for quite some time.
Yeah, my bad - in my defence, BBC didn't show replay for an age. I assumed the offside was given to a different player, not the one contesting the ball.I'm not sure where the dispute is for this..
Is the argument that it didn't come off an Ecuador head and it was just the keeper who punched the ball up in the air? If so, fair enough it wouldn't be offside, it's hard to tell from the replay.
If you accept that the ball came off an Ecuador head, the next player to get a touch on the ball is an Ecuador player who's foot/leg was offside at the time of the header.
Or is the argument that because that offside didn't directly result in a goal then the goal should stand anyway, despite the offside in the build up? That would be a stretch considering there's like 4 seconds between the offside and goal being scored.
"Maryland"What?
Your point still stands, they somehow beat Japan in the finals. Can't imagine they were as shit as they are todayShit, I got that wrong. The American broadcast said they did win an African tournament but it clearly wasn't that one.

Ronnie replacement??Wow! Valencia's got a hell of a header on him
Still remember Argentina vs Cameroon in Italia 90. What an upset that was and what a team Cameroon turned out to be. Cracking match against England too.Remember the days when countries that were good at football were in the opening match ?
