I think he has been given plenty of leeway by our fans and he will continue to get some for the rest of the season I would have thought. The knives are hardly out among the support. The difficulty may be through media narratives, which are partially through his own making as he underperforms. The other is that he has to convince the manager, not us. ETH does not seem to be a man that takes prisoners.
He has to accept there are huge expectations on United footballers, particularly the ones that are purchased for extravagant fees. That's not his fault that we paid so much, but that is the lay of the land and you either deal with it or you fall away.
The problem I have with Sancho is he's not fit enough. That's totally unacceptable to me. If you want support, you want an increased likelihood that fans will give you more time and patience...it's pretty easy...get fit, and run. Start with the simple habits and then maybe the more expansive stuff will come.
There has to be give and take between fans and players/the team. We have to support, back them where reasonably possible. But they have to give us some understanding that they're doing everything to be successful. That's how you have a good relationship and it's hard to say with a straight face that Jadon has left everything out on the pitch or training ground.
