I think Saudi is trying to go for sustainability. They wanna become the next Dubai
I know the value they are paying Ronaldo is mostly for being their WC application PR, but still is hardly sustainable. With the revenues from asian football I really doubt the revenues would pay Ronaldo's wages, unless they go the PSG route and start self-sponsoring themselves.

He's so far up himself isn't he?

Talking about a challenge when he's joined a retirement league and is completely washed now.

Sad end to a great footballer

He is but what else can he say really "you all really think I wanna be here?"

Anyway, he does look tired and empty inside. Compare this to the interview with Ferdinand when he joined United. He was bursting with energy.

Only pointing this out because I dont want this place (or thread) to become an echo chamber, but this is the only place where people laugh at him. Everywhere else it's just normal news.
Nah, there's plenty of places laughing at him.

The disbelief from his own fans, where they are distraught and realise he's done
There's the fans that are making jokes about being Al-Nassr fans since birth
There's the Messi fans making meme's about how their careers are ending and finding it hilarious
There's the cafe enjoying a bit of schadenfreude after the interview and how the club was attacked by CR7 fans.
On my algorithm on my social media there's people in meltdown trying to stop people clowning on the guy
I'm on another forum - not even a football one (predominantly American sports) and there's people making fun of the guy.

Nobody can take away what he's done in the game he's a legend and holds a goal record that will be hard to match

But it's a shame how he's bowing out of the sport the Piers Morgan interview completely killed his integrity and made him look ridiculous even more so after joining the Saudi League.

His contract was up in the summer and there wouldn't have been any issue with him grabbing a huge payday he's earned it. But refusing to play for us, going on TV to trash the club manager before joining these weeks later is really poor form.

To be fair, there are many clubs interested in Europe, Australia, Brazil, and Portugal as pre-season destinations.

I have no idea either, yet.

Really? Some of us like him. Most fans of basically every other club have hated him for years, they're loving every minute of his fall from grace.

When I check reddit or instagram, the comments are generally ones mocking him - even more so than here.

So we can rest assure then that if Newcastle qualify for ucl we don't have to worry about them the following season as either title or top 4 contenders
Didn't Marca later update that there is no Newcastle clause in contract?
