I was thinking the same, are some managers just lucky? Though we did get Barca of all sides in the EL
Some managers just are lucky yeah.

Look at our Europa League run under Mourinho when we won it in 2017, or the fact in the League cup we faced Hull in the semi final and then Southampton in the final.

Ole got consistently horrible cup draws.

Playing 2nd leg at home it big advantage for Newcastle, they should go through comfortably.

Playing Newcastle over 2 legs is better than in one game probably but given our schedule and having City and Arsenal before cup semis, it's not a great time to play them twice so that's a another positive from this draw.

Newcastle would be a cnt of a team in the final though. They will just park the bus and wait for a random header or pens.

Have we switched fortunes with Chelsea for domestic cup draws this season?

The Southampton manager is rambling. Born again Christian?
Never heard him speak I don't think, but his wiki page has a paragraph on how much he loves him some Jesus, so probably.

Guardiola has surely been the luckiest manager ever with the draws he’s had in domestic competitions at City.

On another note, it seems like a really weird season where we don’t have to play wolves 16 times after Christmas.

We've got Arsenal on Sunday 22nd - so I'm guessing we'll play on Wednesday 25th the first leg?

After City this weekend, even though the fixture list is busy, teams we face won’t be all that: Nottingham (x2), Reading, Crystal Palace (x2), Arsenal, etc.

Semis fall at a decent time with Reading in between them as well. Rotation in that one and let's get to Wembley against Forest.

Not gonna lie lads, league cup it may be, I'm excited at the prospect of silverware in ETHs first season

If we win it, it's a fantastic building block to get that winners mentality in the squad and push on for more.
