Revert to type.

Brain is too slow for this level, no amount of coaching will ever fix that.

Just goes to show we need an upgrade on him urgently. Need a midfielder, a #9. Honestly we should be getting at least one of those in this window but we know the club has no money.

Awful for the first goal. Given a tough job, same as Shaw on the other side. I think his football brain is a bigger issue than his on the ball ability though.

Back to the nobody beats me 1 vs 1 but I'm asleep when crosses come in form. Sigh

As I kept saying, he is good at one thing. Shit at everything else. Trying to play from the back with him and McTominay is an advantage to the opposition.

Get done by his obvious three weaknesses:
- passing
- heading
- positioning.

That was more the AWB we all know. He had his moments, but it's clear you can't trust him if we want to win trophies.

Back to his usual — outstanding one on one, poor under pressure and sloppy while defending the back post. I had hoped that at least the latter would be eliminated under ten Hag's training but it doesn't look like it, he just really struggles with positioning and spatial assessment.

Shite like this is costing us big games and hopes for the title. You can not play with big teams while having garbage at the back. AWB, 2 or 3 good tackles, complete destruction for play from the back and a prime target for pressing.

Get him the feck out from the club!

I think that puts the Dalot vs AWB to bed. Dalot is better in every regard. There were games earlier in the season where Diogo was clearing the same exact balls that led to Arsenals first goal. AWB is decent back up but i'd get rid alongside Maguire.

I can't understand people having a go at him - there was that one bit of mis-control in the first half and the goal which followed, but other than that, I thought he was fine.

All to blame for them equalizing. In two instances.

Absolute horror show. A 1/10. Cost us a couple of goals and totally unreliable as an outlet. We should not be playing it anywhere near him under pressure.
He wasn't at fault for the 3rd goal and has saved a lot of goals over the last few games.

All players make mistakes, he wasn't the reason we lost today.

We lost because we got absolutely dominated in midfield and we were knackered from Wednesday's game.

How many times is this guy going to lose his man on the back post? I’m not sure he even knew Nkethia was there at all for the first goal. Bothers me that he is considered as «very good defensively» when these things happens every game he plays.

He was one of the better performers today and had Martinelli running at him all day.

A total stinker tonight, as good as he is in 1 vs 1 he's awful at positioning. It's ridiculous a professional player can be this bad at covering second post and yet still play in the premier league.

Genuinely awful defender. There's no weirder mantra in football than 'he's obviously a great defender but...'

His 1v1 defending doesn't make up for being average or far, far below at every other aspect. There's times when his positioning and choices defensively are just straight up comical.

We concede a Bissaka Goal nearly every time he plays.

Bissaka Goal:
1. Back post header where players run off his blind side or he's tucked so far inside that he can't even challenge for it.
2. He doesn't track an overlapping runner and gifts the opposition a freebie cut-back/cross in the box.

The two mistakes he made for their opening goal (poor in possession and beaten at the back post) are classic AWB weaknesses.

There's no need to be overly harsh as mistakes happen, but in bigger picture terms we shouldn't get carried away with a run of good games either. He is the fullback he is and it's neither good enough nor well-suited enough to the manager's approach.

He was probably at fault twice for the first goal though! Quite a miraculous achievement.

He wasn't the reason we lost but he was a big bloody part of it. If the captain was going to haul in a couple of players to the boardroom apprentice style he'd be one of them...

A reminder of him at his worst, he just does weird things like he forgets he's out there playing football

De Gea absolutely telegraphed the pass to him that lead to the corner and gave him absolutely no time on the ball and there was no pass on.

He should a lot better at the back post but so should a lot of our other players in the buildup to the goal.

Knew the so-called improvement was too good to be true. Dalot can't come back fast enough. Still offers absolutely nothing going forward and remains braindead positionally in defence. Prime candidate for being sold in the summer.

DeGea makes the wrong choice but you still have to deal with it, don't you? Hoof it if necessary, it's not as if he is adverse to aimless punts. It's part and parcel of the game, dealing with tricky balls and decision making. The fact is he had two hands in that goal going in within one short passage of play. Kind of underlines how error strewn his game is.

In the first third our players already make a concerted effort to avoid passing to him under pressure. They are trying but it's a luxury they can't always have

Just awful, we don't concede either the first or the 3rd goal with Dalot in there.
