He handled it pretty well in my opinion. McTominay is not the man we need in this game and nor is AWB with his mental lapses, It could have been much different if we had Casemiro and Dalot to pick from today. Eriksen is good for teams that park the bus and not this kind of game unless he has Casemiro behind him putting in a 10/10.

Subs wouldn’t have made the difference we were beaten by the better team and were missing Casemiro. After half a season he has come to the runaway leaders years into their project and run them close. Also the only manager to beat them this season. Erik is the man.

Arsenal are a fantastic team and they deserved the win on the day, they also had a cosy week of rest and that extra rest showed. The fact we're not that far away from them on the pitch shows how far we've come. Not burying Palace meant we lost Casemiro, who's probably our best player, which is probably why we ended up losing. It was shit of the FA to play that fixture midweek.
The Palace game was having to get rescheduled at some point and our midweek card is stacked already with the two legged league cup & Barca games coming up. This past midweek just happened to be the only free midweek in the calendar that we had.

I really don't get the abuse he's getting today. I'm genuinely confused.

All today showed is the limitations of our squad. Tired players couldn't be subbed because there was no one on the bench. Arsenal also happen to be the best side in the league right now. The last two games have been more unfortunate than him costing us points.

He doesn’t have a squad at his disposal, I get that. But making no changes when we’re being absolutely hammered is bizarre

We were back against the wall for the last 20 mins and could barely get it out of our half. Garnacho would not have seen the ball
Well cause when we hit it down we had no outlet. Weghorst was just slow.

Garnacho would have run at them. Pushed them back.

If you’re not seeing a genuine improvement, you either need to get yourself to specsavers, or have no idea what football is.
Scraping top 4? It's not like I haven't seen that before post Sir Alex, including under Ole.

Must’ve missed it. First half ended with us creating 0.09 xG.
Yeah sure we didn't create much, but we pressed and kept them at bay while we ourselves had decent amount of possession. Point is we didn't play scrappy on the counter football like you originally said.

He could have probably taken off Eriksen instead of Antony. Other than that, I don’t really see what else he could have done. People saying he lost us the points need to give their head a wobble. They have a lot more quality and are playing really well. People think one substitution would have changed the momentum. If he had brought on Garnacho, I can guarantee it wouldn’t have changed the result. We lost all control of the midfield and didn’t have the tools to regain that.

Honestly, people who still don't get why people are upset about today and Wednesday are a different breed. I'm not even going to bother to add a major caveat to that, as we all know he's overall done a good job so far but that doesn't make him immune to criticism. This is an area of his game where he needs to change or else he'll suffer the same fate of his predecessors.

Think Garnacho and Pellistri could have hurt Arsenal on the counter. Both are also confident currently. He is far too stubborn sometimes. The Arsenal goal was coming either way.

ETH left our new striker on the field for too long. Arsenal holds a high line. We needed a striker who would make runs behind the defense. Garanacho should have come on and Rashford moved to the #9. Not guaranteed we would have won but I think it would have given us a better chance...

It feels like a lot of fans overhyped him to get back at Ole (so they could "win the argument" so to speak) and some just in general hope that he would turn things around.

I'm not getting too excited until I see genuine improvement and the team is on another level to what it was post Sir Alex Ferguson. He's done ok so far.
If you can't see the improvement particularly in the first half, I don't think you will ever see any improvement.

Garnacho's been our most promising looking forward player besides Rashford for the past month. Could have brought him on and taken off Weghorst who looks to be running in mud the entire match. We could have at least tried to make something of it instead of letting them hammer at it for half an hour. We give them that much time - this Arsenal squad are going to punish us. Which they did.
Weghorst was the only option we had to even pretend to hold the ball through the middle and every time we got the ball through midfield it was because of him plus they were killing us with corners and set pieces. Garnacho out wide or Rashford out there wouldn’t have made that much of a difference imo.

I am 100% behind Ten Hag.

But today, I feel his management of the game after Licha scored was not on point, WW was ineffectual and Garnacho should've come earlier, McTominay was horrendous and Eriksen had a game to forget.

Because modern fans are fickle as feck

we have played a lot of games and looked jaded in the last 20 mins. First half we were very good and did well in the 2nd to equalisle but they were too good on the day and are showing why they will deservedly be champions

There's only one United!
He should have made subs at the halfway mark of the second half.
Everyone could see we were backing off all the time.

It's entirely the FA's fault it was postponed in the first place though.

Don't get why ten Hag shouldn't get criticised in this thread.

He does well, he gets praise. He does shite, he gets crap.

Sounds fair to me.

Overall he's done amazing, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have any stinkers.

That’s just the result of an Arsenal team they’ve been building for numerous seasons now, and a United team that’s nowhere near finished without it’s best player, and absolutely knackered from the ridiculous fixture change. There will be disappointing games for the next two years at least, but it’s so much better than the tripe they’ve served up under Ole and Rangnick

The state of these posts from some of our so called "fans", embarrassing.

Erik's doing a good job.
Lets not be Rawk. Erik is doing fantastic job and we are lucky to have him but when he has "bad performance" (like every manager or player have), it is completely normal to comment that.

Keeps subbing off his own £80m player and never has the balls to do daring subs but instead keeps on taking off attackers for midfielders. I 100% agree we should not be too harsh on him due to it being his first year but at the same time, do not kid yourselves, if Spurs, Chelsea & Liverpool were not so shit this year we would be miles off top 4.

We are only 6 ahead of Contes miserable Spurs.....

He is doing a great job.

Still fecked up with he subs today and was too afraid.

It's ok to acknowledge both
It's not like he has world class players on the bench, it's nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking.

We were f*cked by the rescheduled game and our lack of squad depth was exposed today.
