I have seen him play in a box to box role - Anyone confirm whether or not he has played as a more disciplined CDM? Could he fill in for Casemiro next to Fred let’s say?

As an Eriksen replacement it’s a very sensible choice.

He’s not the best player in the world but he can do the job similarly to Eriksen.

There's only one United!
What we lose with Eriksen is his creativity, his ability to open up defences with a clever pass and his football brain. Sabitzer's not in his league in those terms but what you lose there, you gain in his box to box all round ability. He is a much more physical presence than Eriksen.

Beggars cant be choosers on deadline day and yes he is a panic buy - something we really should be getting away from, but an exciting one. Let's get it done!!
Would be great if he makes Merson look the clown that he is!

10 mins till take off, lets hope he boarded and didn't get lost in the airport or something.

My partner once made me miss a flight when we were in the airport waiting  didn't speak to her for a day.

Yes he's played 6, 8 and 10. His interceptions and tackles/90 indicate he'd probably be able to play there.

Would have preferred an option to buy to be part of this but a very good signing nonetheless
I don’t see us having any issues making it permanent if we choose to do so. He’s surplus to requirements at Bayern anyway.

To be honest, seeing as we have no idea who our owners are going to be/what sort of financial situation we'll be in come the summer, I'm not sure it makes that much difference.

Credit to Murtough and EtH. I can’t believe we’ve made such a smart signing in the space of a day.

Looks like we’ll have Casemiro, Fred, McT, and Sabitzer playing for two spots across 4 competitions. I still feel we’re a body light in midfield but I’m hoping EtH can either play Licha in the middle or blood in Mainoo more.
What we are light in, in the centre of midfield with Eriksen gone, is creativity. Casemiro is by far the most creative of those we have left and he is primarily a CDM. Sabitzer is definitely needed.

If he does well I'm sure there would be a deal to be done. Bayern may find it awkward and high risk to call him back if he becomes well settled in Manchester and really wants to stay.

I do think the problem with the summer was the entire FDJ saga sort of put a lot of shit on hold including Antony considering our budget. The whole waffling with Barca needing to sell, then not needing to sell etc. made it go by much slower.

I'll judge him much more harshly this summer if we still waffle around and our sales are shite because we know we need to offload players and those fees will go a long way
For sure. But nothing he has done so far screams that he is a good sports director, or whatever his position is. Obviously, him still being on a "learning curve" and the club being on sale probably make rating his performance a bit more complicated.

Nonetheless though a good director can make some reasonable deals for future stars. It happened to us numerous times prior to 2013.

An option to buy would be nice but the situation at Bayern doesn't change much for the player next season. He is in his prime years, will want playing time. If he does well for us then getting him on a permanent in the summer won't be that hard. The cost will be fairly low as well i imagine.

Also maybe the reason for no option is down to the time frame. We have to meet a deadline and the extra time taken to organise it may have proved to difficult.

Wow, this one come out of nowhere. He's no world beater sabitzer but is a very hard working technically capable player who can play in numerous positions perfect to plug some gaps in midified. Which is what we desperately needed.

Iv picked the flight up aswell I think currently just south of Frankfurt due to land in Manchester just after 7pm by the looks of things.

Let's hope the club manage to pull there finger out and finalise it.

A "flawless" professional you never hear anything negative about. Somebody that never complains and always is a big team player, that is hard working in training and takes care of the younger players. If you should wish somebody success and a lot of playtime then that is Marcel Sabitzer.

Christian Falk saying there isn’t a buy option but Jason Burt saying there is.

Not sure who to believe.

He is going to be a good signing. I can feel it and that is why i'm sad there is no buy option in there. If he plays well, Bayern will demand a premium.

No buy option is a shame but I’m sure if things go well a deal can be done.
That should be no problem. We seem to be close to agreeing a deal with Laimer, his replacement. So he’s surplus and definitely available after the season. You should be able to sign him for reasonable money.
