If this happens, the forums will descend into a civil war much worse than anything we've seen from the days of Mourinho and Ole.
I really don't think it will.

People will quit the club like they say they will, others will be annoyed at first and soon get over it.

Majority of us will realise there's nothing we can do in the grand scheme, and just enjoy the ride.

Qatar WILL take over a football club in England, and i'd rather it be us than Tottenham/Liverpool.

Agreed. Get the woke brigade who care about that stuff out.
Let's not be all snowflakey about this please. No need to witch hunt. That being said, I don't know why it's so unfashionable to care about advocating for and investing in (vicariously) such evils as modern slavery, caste systems and patriarchal dominance over women. When Qatar or KSA start doing the green washing using United as an international brand are you seriously telling me you won't feel a little weird? This won't be just those cringy and slightly odd wine and marvel adverts it will be using United to wash over all the scummy stuff they do like chop up ambassadors, behead gays and stone women.

It's your choice if you're fine with that of course. I won't tell you how to think, just letting you know these are the type of people we're dealing with. Glazers are just money pigs by comparison

England created all world wars. Some people know this & some dont. This will influence what you think of the qatari investment.

I was being sarcastic in fairness, the giddiness in here is nauseating (none of the options are good people but there's better options than a state like Qatar owning the club).

I still think US Investors may be willing to pay more for us.

None of us know what the private 'Qatari investors' are worth or how much they are willing to spend.

Nothing is certain yet, especially if the Glazers aren't really keen on selling. A US consortium might come in and offer a higher bid also. I wouldn't underestimate them. Hopefully, we know more by the end of this month. This Friday is only a "soft" deadline. I suspect the actual deadline is the end of this month. And then the bidding process will begin proper as prospective buyers get eliminated over time.

We're too busy supplying billions of dollars worth of military vehicles and weapons to Qatar.
Which they pay us for, same with Saudi's and some other countries that we probably don't really want to be associated with - they sell us stuff as well

It won't be the case as most of those who are against the Qatari will not follow United any more. That what they promised

Look at this fecking chart.

Lets reverse it now.
Just looking at Spurs big fat 0 means somewhere down the line, they’re going to get bought out. I think the fact they uncovered Harry Kane in their academy has delayed the inevitable of Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy selling up and moving on.

Constantly at the STD clinic.
What excites me most about Saudi Arabia buying us is the drama queens claiming to care about social issues will feck off and support another club. I'm a proper man me, I like my slaves cheap and my women without any independence or freedom. And anyone who is against beheading are just pansy prick soyboys. Keep. United. Saudi.
Edgy post by someone who has probably never met a Saudi let alone visit the country.

Ah sorry, I admit I'm guilty of it too. I'm just so pissed off that these arseholes are planning to wash away their sins in the good waters of this club. They're not buying it for profit so the alternative is a sinister ulterior motive. QSI are obviously huge fans of gorton and Stockport.

And I get the position of people for who United are one of the only good things in their life, and they are trying to focus on the football and just enjoy that. It makes me even more angry that these people are now going to have this shadow over them for as long as they're owned by this lot. At least the glazers were just financial parasites. These guys are a parasite of a different kind.

Looks like Mike Keegan was right all along.
He was obviously fed info from the start. Nobody randomly speaks with that kind of authority without being fed it first. Especially a non European country etc.

I beg to differ. It will hang over the club like a dark cloud. You can guarantee the media, rival fans and the like will absolutely hold this against the club, and will delight in haranguing us about our hypocrisy at every game. We won’t be allowed to forget about migrant workers, women’s rights, lgbt issues, journalist murders and we will have ‘bought’ every trophy we win post takeover cheapening ETHs achievements.
That's what rival fans do regardless. What the glazers first bought United, they were all mocking United by chanting USA, USA, USA!

But yet, a few on here were saying nobody knows nothing as it's coming from sports journalists! Crazy.

Then again no one really squashed those rumours (not that I can remember) when he did post them. The only ones that were trying to deny it were the posters on here who outright didn’t want to hear this news.

To be fair Qatar is worse than Abu Dhabi. Anyway has the Qatar been viewed negatively in the West since the WC or positively? Not many in the western world we aware of the their workers' conditions pre WC. But now?!

I think it will be the case till at least the start of next season because people just don't end a lifelong hobby in a second.

What excites me most about Qatar buying us is the drama queens claiming to stop following Utd and football following through with it.
Yeap. I can picture a pimpled teenage kid, stomping his feet and making similar proclamation loudly in front of his parents!
If you want to stop following United, just do so quietly. No need for such infantile rants.

Is there any bid other than Qatari one atm? Football is business and money talks as we know but there will probably always be questions from moral aspect of the story. Not sure what to think about it.

It's why I take 'sportswashing' claims with a massive grain of salt. Politically we do all sorts of deals with these countries and barely anyone bats an eyelid but sports? Don't you dare touch our sports you sportswashers.

Why is it crazy, if you believed sports journalists then United would have bought about 500 players last summer
