The British state has been responsible for many human rights abuses. Recent history (Northern Ireland) and present day (Windrush scandal).
Yeah, they are atrocious and doubt anyone opposed to Qatar buying us would be supporting the British government buying us!

I imagine everyone supporting the Qatari bid would be all for it though. The British government has loads more money.

It’s only the clueless espn cnuts who are “reporting” this. It’s more of an opinion. The real story is that nobody is sure about the Glazers intentions, but all facts point to a full sale being the most probable.

It could also be the Glazers sending a message to bidders that they will only accept a higher than premium bid for a full sale.

It was Luckhurst of MEN who reported this first from what I can read

So many people seem to have missed the news about City getting done for breaching FFP. A new owner isn't going to splurge any more money on players than anyone else buying the club outright. We don't need a fecking cheat code.
that’s not the same situation at all.

City made payments off the books and created fake sponsors to be able to pay more. We obviously don’t need that, but we will need a big chunk of money to build a stadium/training ground etc. If you want that out of the clubs money then that means more debt again, hence why having a cash rich owner would better.

Putting in money rather than taking out.

Wondering if glazers will sell up at £5billion or if thats not enough for them. Telegraph saying that qataris will make £5billion bid.
Whatever the Qataris bid will be enough.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Avram risked getting a sunburn on the ME trip he recently went on. The fecking vampires.

Everything will have been pre agreed in my opinion.

Turnover does not matter infact even profitability can be skewed in accounting from year to year. (Provision reversal is a good example)

The main concern is equity, how much INEOS have in reserve. Plus they are a listed company who will be lending money and will require return on its investment.

I don't want an owner where we have to fund their investment again. Because whatever INEOS will give our owner, they will want it returned with interest and guess who is going to generate income to repay off that initial investment, our club.
OMG no. It was stated in black and white! The glazers have really done a number on this fan base, everyone is shit scared of the D word. I feel like I am taking crazy pills here…..

Reminds me of when the glazers took over. Our fan base was divided then. So much so that FC United was created and some swore to never support our club again.
Reminds me of that too. A lot of great dedicated fans were lost sadly. To me and probably many others the Qataris are worse type of owners - eventually one type of fan will probably dominate the fanbase as a whole, and I suspect/fear it’ll be the fantype who’ll applaud everything the Qataris do.

Qatar is for seen as a good owner of PSG because they dominate, but in this league they wont be able to do the same. Im not sure i’d evaluate them of being great owners at PSG myself. Lots of debacle with Neymar, Messi, Mbappe + they dont win the french league always. (Bayern does in Germany so they should be able too) - several failings in Europe. Im not sure people who just buy the biggest player available are the best fit. Macho-type of ownership.

Every well run company the world finances capital projects without massive cash injections. Must like every football club in the world sans City.

Thinking about it, apart from city's new training ground and that stand extention at eastlands what other teams in Europe have benefitted from state backed or sugar daddy money when it comes to infrastructure investment?

We will either be bought by an investor looking for a return on investment or a sportswashing entity. There is no other buyer out there.

I'm going to hazard a guess that the age range of people voting on that are 13-25 years old and think the Qataris owning United = United buying Mbappe.

Nowhere does it mention ten Hag has the confidence of the Qataris, just that he'll be financially backed, buzzwords fans will lap up during a takeover.

They won't think twice of dropping him as manager when we get ourselves in a rut as they'll have their own guy they'd like to bring in, waiting in the wings. They want to be seen as the best and the club winning everything, as soon as that doesn't happen, ten Hag will get the boot.
Yes arm Ten Hag with a big budget and then sack him.

Makes perfect sense

Ahh yes, these 63% of people who don’t agree with me must be a bunch of kids dreaming of Mbappe.

I'm a massive ETH supporter but at the end of the day the club getting rid of the Glazers and getting new owners is more important long term.

Any potential new owner may bring their own manager in. I very much doubt it but it's a small possibility. And well that is what it is.

Glazers are poison and ETH won't be massively successful if they stay anyway. We've had enough years of their ownership to know that. Especially now with our finances so bad.

It's better for ETH for us to have new owners too. Sure it's another boards he may have to win over but better that than not having a stable club to run

Their will be anti LGBT laws because it's prohibited in the religion and they are just following the religion, it's the same as Hindu people finding Cow as sacred, whereas you will be feasting on kebabs and beef steak.

Would not you respecting their religion and their beliefs if you are in India?
Are you seriously comparing anti LGBT laws in the ME to Hindus finding the cow sacred?

First of all millions of Hindus eat beef and there are no laws which imprison or execute anyone for eating beef. It's a choice

Also, in all Hindu religious texts, everyone is equal and there is no discrimination against LGBT people

Doesn't remind me of that at all. I remember there being nearly universal disdain for that takeover. Glazers having to be escorted everywhere by police etc back in 2005. And the protests have continued to various degrees of intensity for nearly 20 years.

Fans are far more placid and removed these days though. People pay more attentional to twitter polls than actual supporters.

Is there a verse in Quran about anti LGBT laws?
Yes in the Qur'an, on several occasions and also in Hadiths. According to Qur'an it has not started recently, several hundred thousand years ago there was a tribe named as LOUT. Homosexuality originated from that tribe and they were punished for it at that time. It's considered a very big sin, hence throughout Muslim countries it's forbidden and prohibited.

That's something from the past. Now we are good together and we cooperate all the time and have shown that through the last WC. Where Tamim was supporting the Saudis himself.
Yeah support for Saudi and then Morocco was huge everywhere in each cafe, restaurant etc.

Rubbish.

The migrant workers stick has already been debunked many times. So, I'll just leave it there.

However, it's hilarious to the women of our gulf nation to hear you coming with accusations defending them. Women are not being discriminated here, for example I have a sister who's a doctor and other one who's doing great in computer since fields. They're happy living their life while you are here crying out-loud about their rights.

Just stop this ridicules drivel, mate.
Would actually be interesting to hear your thoughts on the reforms of the kafala system and the development of human rights in general in Qatar and the rest of the GCC. UAE implemented a new labour law a few years boosting the rights for those previously under the well-known kafala system. Obviously they still have some way to go to satisfy Western society, but accepting UAE into the 'World community' has made a huge difference there and I expect that the same will happen to Qatar.

Yeah in an ideal world, where billionaires are saints and virtuous people who provides charity and donates their savings for cancer and environment would be very welcome. But all of these billionaires are pigs and morally corrupt and use their wealth to support terrorism or sponsor them or one way or another involved or in bed with people who are doing it.

So eventually my thought process is, it's EPL and their fault they allowed Glazers and then Saudi and Abu Dhabi owners to populate in England and buy clubs, now we have no option, what can we do as fans. Since we don't have any power, I want somebody who will want my club to be the best and invest properly, which Qatar appears to be the best option keeping all this in mind.

This, the idea that some lifelong united fan with billions is going to ride in on a white horse and save the club is for the fairies. We already have owners who are only interested in making as much money as possible and thats been a disaster. Sports washing owner is the only alternative imo.

Yeah, one can only hope that with the spotlight on them, things can improve.

Look at Dubai. A lot more liberal. But it has taken time. Reform does.

See maybe that was not that best example, point is simple if something is prohibited in some religion and people are merely following it, you can't blame those people, that's why we have different religions because people have different ideological beliefs and follow them. Because otherwise you would be against that religion.

You're having that assumption because of what happened at PSG but you forgot one important factor. The fans, we have a vast sum of them whom will dictate and influence the outcome of anyone be it a player or a manager. It happened before and will happen again. You cant compare PSG's small and plastic fanbase to ours. We'll stand by ten hag no matter what and I guarantee you that the Qataris will respecte it is they're a sensible people.
Qatar will be very careful with fan perception as they take us over. Ten Hag will be bulletproof as long as he’s delivering most of what’s expected on the pitch.
Plus he will deliver on the pitch. Nothing so far has suggested otherwise

QatarGate kinda disrupted that newfound friendship again. The hostility is very much evident even if they downplay it in public now.

United or any of the fans won't automatically become anti-LGBTQ because our new owners propagate those laws. I just don't understand how people cannot grasp this point.

Saudi Telecom was on of our longest commercial partners but no one cried or shouted slogans against that partnership while they were ready to blast Apollo for even thinking of getting in as a minority investor.

So as long as they pay us money, but not own us it seems people are fine to accept that. Somehow it is justifiable in their eyes to accept one but not the other because reasons..

You have to imagine that these people would have been defending apartheid South Africa from the criticism if this were 40 years ago.

So what if they treat black people appallingly? It's their country, respect it.

Shows how blinked some are when it comes to their football team. Literally nothing they won't defend. If Gary Glitter made a bid they'd be arguing that what right do we have to decide our age of consent laws are the right ones.

"Respect"
That’s an impressive amount of straw men you’ve invented here

I learnt history in the uk both in an english school and a private indian school aswell as then abroad! Ive learnt it from a whole different level to you who only learnt it from the english led education system that has an british ministry propaganda built structure just as much as the bbc!
You probably think the pure Aryan people philosophy was built by germany right?

Great Britain literally created Racism by creating a Race Science.

https://academic.oup.com/california-scholarship-online/book/22475

“In the nineteenth century, however, an emergent biological “race science” attacked the authority of the Orientalists. The spectacle of a dark-skinned people who were evidently civilized challenged Victorian ideas, and race science responded to the enigma of India by redefining the Aryan concept in narrowly “white” racial terms.“

At the time it was Great Britain’s your peaceful country that was killing people in Native America continent, all of Africa, all of the Indian Countries, All of the Australian subcontinent, all of the oriental subcontinent, The Irish and all their anti war Songs against England when they caused a death by literally causing an organized potato famine - and then made to look like Germany was the only bad guy.

Get off my back son. I was born in England and can see history in a bigger version than you. Low Historian IQ.

Stick to your Aryan Monastery of the pure Great British Kings and Queens

Literally turned Ireland to a Potato only country - to For who? Great Britain.

Turned the whole of the Indian Countries to do what? Sell and use Spices for who? Great Britain.

Invaded Australia and literally wiped the original Australian’s ethnicity away from this earth why? So Britain could create a prison system where all there prisoners gets put in Australia.

Literally turned and used the whole of Africa in to their slave system. The whole of bloody Africa.

Wiped away the Native American culture/ethnicity from their subcontinent!

How can you be so so so so deluded!

You wonder why English is the most spoken language in the world? Because they literally ruled all over the world and all the benefit these countries got was the bloody education system of Great Britain! You wonder why English Universities are the highest rated in the world:lol: You wonder why now England has arguably is one of the most multiracial countries in the world? Because they literally owned these countries and people by invading them in the first place.

The Education system then also has a built up propaganda of a history that has influenced people like you.

Your just a Fred on the pitch when it comes

No. It means we represent them.
Did Manchester United represent GB or the King in the early 1900s when they were colonizing the world and were causing Jallianwala Bagh massacre acts aplenty simply because the club is in GB?
