And that won't matter one bit if City spend £500m on a new team right after the FFP trial if they win, we simply can't compete if that happens, no one can.
Yeah 100% they are playing their own game. £200m a season is insane money but for UAE nothing at all. We spend pocket money compared to what they could actually bring with no rules.

Countires like Qatar and UAE are that rich they could buy a 5 billion club every season and I doubt it would move the books their side. They have more money than sense.

Exactly, and although the trial is funny and we're certain City will lose, we should be worried and prepared for a scenario where they win and the whole league gets bought up by them for decades.

Saudi private bid for Chelsea couldnt match American bid. PIF is not involved. Its why no one is running with Saudi story. All major financial news outlets are running Qatar story
The tweet from Sky Kaveh suggests Saudi Arabia have the money. More likely they didn't think Chelsea was worth the money.

I just can't fathom a scenario where leveraged funds being used to buy United won't somehow become United's problem at some point
And what about debt? He for sure will not clean that debt. So you will have old debt and one more debt over that debt.

Putting aside the morality argument for a second, how can you not be excited for the football side of stuff. We're genuinely about to start being contenders, we have the beginnings of a great side and a great manager. After a decade of city and Liverpool winning everything in sight, its going to be amazing to be back at that level
Because in time there’d be a hollowness to it all.

Mbappe on the left and Rashford through the middle and interchanging throughout the game?

Where the grass is greener.
As I said to anyone who would listen, we were always going for mental money and ending up with someone filthy rich. We are one of the jewels in the football crown, the big spenders have wanted us all along.

I said this before also, they're not going to pay off the debt, not all of it anyway, they're going to let United keep paying it off and then take money out the back door to service their debt also. Double feckery, I guarantee it.

To what? We haven't even won anything yet and people are already bemoaning that we might win everything all the time. How about we take it one day at a time and see what happens? If we spend within our means, like we're only allowed to anyway then it won't matter if we're owned by Qatari's or one of us on the Caf, thing is, they'll be no debt with Qatari's.

Not unless we start fudging thr books like city did. We've spent the last ten years with an albatross around our necks, they've drained money from the club, they've made terrible managerial appointments (until ten hag) and we had Ed Woodward as ceo. Even with the Glazers bleeding us dry we've spent almost as much as city, they might inject a bit of their own cash, but we generate enough that they won't really need to

Will there be any stipulations like keeping United on their current managerial trajectory?
Or will it be take the money and run?
For all we know, the Qataris might jettison Ten Hag and get Zidane in and spend billions making a mess of the current upward trajectory.
Who knows?
What I DO know is that Ten Hag is doing something incredibly right and he should be part of any sale

For me its the opposite. This season has been genuinely exciting and promising after a long period of doom and gloom. However if we are bought by some despotic state that will certainly take away most of the excitement. History would anyway give all the credit of any future success in the coming years to the dirty money.

People keep saying this but there's zero evidence for it to be true. If anything, they won't want to rock the boat, their aim is to win favour, not piss everyone off

Have the other oil clubs done this, psg have been a bit reckless but at the same time they've dominated their league and started reaching CL finals. Newcastle and City seem very well run. They'd have no reason to get rid of ten hag, and I don't think they will

I really don’t understand why people are getting so nervous about Ten Hag? There’s been NO whispers or anything out him being kicked out, except one random opinion piece. Any competent owner will realise that he is THE man for us.

They aren’t stupid and I’m sure they will avoid self-sabotage.
