Club Sale | It’s done!

I genuinely don't understand how any United fan who has been calling Chelsea and City plastic clubs for years can be rooting for fecking Saudi blood money. Hypocrisy of the highest order.
City and Chelsea would not be the global powerhouse clubs they currently are had they not been purchased by Abu Dhabi and Abramovich. United's status as a global powerhouse club has long been established, and was established as a result of the club’s accomplishment on the pitch. The club’s current ownership acts to its detriment, and that hasn’t stopped anyone from reveling in what the Glazers have done to our club. Them’s the break mate.

There's only 3 of them, Jim owns 66% of the company.

How exactly would United service the debt on a £5 Billion loan? What would the yearly interest payments be?
Are they listed on an exchange? If so they have investors they have to keep happy and debt to the tune of £5b that has to be serviced is not what investors want to hear.

Chairmen or owners can remove money from the club in the form of a "management fee" at regular intervals. I'm not saying they wouldn't pursue more growth and revenue first but ultimately that debt has to be paid off and the other owners of INEOS won't be happy about their money being used to pay debt on a football team.

I'm sure you are stronger than that. They won the league + CL doing it the right way and you still didn't give up.
If they’re winning 4 out of 5 league titles and are getting closer and closer to cracking CL then I’d cry. It would never stop.
At least doing it the right way has tension, it has stakes. Do it wrong and look where they are now. Oil money gives them Jude Bellingham or that French midfielder last summer at the very least.

No, they are a Ltd company not a PLC.

Yeah right, it's almost a meme in India what happens to maids that go to the ME. Hiring families take away passports, no support from police etc. etc.

The idea they can just quit is simply deluded. I'd forgotten about the passport confiscation bit.

The Glazers aren't walking away from 6 billion dollars that's for sure.

1. Everyone know's this, they're just excited that we might actually be able to spend money again instead of looking in the free transfer bin. Mbappe is obviously a joke.

2. Mother Teresa was also a bit of a cnut.

3. No one's talking about the Saudis? Just some tweets mentioning they might be involved, pure speculation.

4. Jimmy boy won't take a loan on his own company to pay off the debt currently on the club, so we'll have that problem still and the money leveraged against INEOS will also become our problem. He isn't going to take a £5b loan and pay it off monthly out of his own pocket for a laugh.

On number 4 it was reported the loan would only be the size of our current debt, not for the club.

I'm all in Qatar personally.

But we are a genuinely rich and self sustaining club, that's been saddled with the Glazers. Other fans still attribute our success under Fergie to Howard Webb ffs, who cares what they say?
Yes I was looking forward to Glazers going away but not to then be bought by a state with unlimited wealth and questionable history. If we are self sustainable then we do not need to be associated with such regimes and be answerable for all the baggage they come with. A normal rich billionaire looking for some steady gains from investing in us would have been just fine.

People spout things like this, but I guarantee you won't watch United any differently.

Would our game tonight feel any different if the Saudis or Qatar owned us? not a chance.

I get why people are upset and it's fair enough, but United are entertainment, and if it means we can be more successful and keep enjoying great nights like tonight, then i'm all for it.

The revenue of United is paltry in comparison to INEOS. They certainly wouldn't need to dip in to the coffers of United to pay off a loan

You just need to read their Utd dedicated thread. They are in complete meltdown at the thought of the Qatari’s buying us. Lots of comfort and hopium posting. Not a single person is ecstatic about it. In fact they are becoming dismissive of even following football anymore.

Absolutely NO domestic rival fanbase is ecstatic about the prospect of the Qataris or Saudis owning us . That's pure yarn spinning to say so.

There's a palpable fear on socials over where that might leave their respective clubs giving such financial resources to a an already behemoth of a club. I'm sure it's more of the same on their respective forums.

That's why you see people begging for UEFA or the FA to step in and block it if it goes down. Everyone knows that Manchester United unrestrained would be a true force to be reckoned with on all fronts in perpetuity

Normal rich billionaires who have 6bn liquid lying around and are interested in football and willing to spend it aren't a big group

It's not even the reply but what he was replying to which was a post that pointed out that United are in a completely different position to Chelse/City and will not operate in the same way they did, nor do we need to.

To what? We haven't even won anything yet and people are already bemoaning that we might win everything all the time. How about we take it one day at a time and see what happens? If we spend within our means, like we're only allowed to anyway then it won't matter if we're owned by Qatari's or one of us on the Caf, thing is, they'll be no debt with Qatari's.
Exactly. Only in the CAF could we be sick of winning before we actually start winning

I’d have sold feck all. Oddly enough I don’t get to fecking choose. In fact I quite literally said if I had a choice I’d choose Jim so you can take that patronising preaching tone elsewhere.
You can always choose. You can choose not to support a club owned by a dictatorship regime that oppresses its people and deprives them of basic human rights.

So a loan to pay the debt but also taking on debt to pay that debt that will then be paid off by the club anyway? No thanks

My understanding is INEOS would purchase the club however they do.

INEOS would take out a loan to pay off the existing debt or have that debt transferred to them if that's doable and they would take on the risk.

The club would be debt free and owned outright by INEOS who would only owe whatever the debt currently stands at which to them is probably at write off levels of money.

The was literally a Chelsea fan in here yesterday (@Zaphod2319 ) saying he’s begging for the Glazers to stay and put more on us ..

They all want us ruined and have lapped up our struggles

But it still hasn’t been leaked out what he’s do about stadium and training ground. That’s an extra 2b on top
If he had a plan to do something it would be revealed by now imo

Understood. I don't see how that loan will not become United's responsibility at some point however. Abramovich would regularly pay Chelsea fees and state that it was a 'loan' from him to the club, INEOS could do the same to pay of their loan.

Social media has gone into complete meltdown with rival fans saying this can’t be allowed to happen. It actually feels like the Fergie days where everyone hated everything about us.

Look how much we've been able to spend while servicing debt and paying dividends to these greedy feckers, we'd have 200m available every year minimum

We usually spend that anyway. We have matched City pound for pound in the market. We've just not matched them off the pitch in the infrastructure because the Glazers don't care about this club.

Still don't want the Qataris though. Loads of money yea but I'd feel very uneasy being used to sports wash their image.
