They still a game in hand, so we are not in the mix right now.
Next 5 games are:
Leicester
Liverpool
Southampton
Brighton
Newcastle (1.4.2023)

Lets talk about our title chances in April, we would need 13 or 15 Points to be in the mix!
I really want to believe and might do so if we win tomorrow but that goal difference pisses me off no end-it's effectively an extra point that won't/can't be recovered. The whole attack is resting on Rashford and to a lesser extent Bruno because our squad depth is so lacking in goalscorers.

Such a shame Arsenal managed to find a flukey winner. Trying not to worry about it for now. Hopefully get the three points tomorrow and forget about the league for a bit.

Don’t do it to yourselves, we don’t have the squad.

Arsenal’s to throw away now.

Bless again.

Had the cocky knocked out of you now have we?

Fingers crossed you get back on track soon, as I said earlier, you’ll be losing both games v City so any more shit results like Everton or Brentford and you’ll be soon be out of the race.
I want Arsenal every day of the week over the oil state, but your cockiness certainly does at least make it easier to stomach.
thanks mate keep supporting us and don’t lose the faith

Bless

Tbh, just being in a position in February where you can suggest having a chance at the title without being laughed out of the forum means we’re ahead of schedule (in terms of the ETH project - obviously we’re well behind schedule in terms of adjusting to the post Fergie era..)

Nice to be in the conversation - take one game at a time etc etc then who knows… more realistically we look good for top 4 and after the first 2 games of the season that looks a minor miracle in and of itself!

Feeling the same, so close to them deservedly losing more points there. We have to focus on ourselves though.

Man. City got this habit of dropping silly points all through the season. That's why I don't think they're just going to saunter right through to win league.

I've lost track now, how much is Arsenal lead in race if they win at Leicester and then beat Everton at home in their spare game?

So much for the race being over after Wednesday due to city being an infallible juggernaut..

Seeing Arsenal win the title will be almost as painful as when Liverpool won it, at least for me.

I've still got my eye on City, not Arsenal. Arteta is such a volatile personality, they are going to go up in smoke at some point. I predict they melt down in April when they play Liverpool, City, and Chelsea before Newcastle the first weekend of May. It'll be down to whether it's United or City waiting to grab the trophy.

I genuinely think peopl have just been ignoring what Man. City have been doing last few months. 1-1s v Everton, losing last minute to Brentford, at Old Trafford after being a goal up are not stuff they've done in previous years and today adds to that list as they'd have just won 2 or 3 nil at promoted team in recent seasons (Forest been incredible at home last few months though).

They don't have the conviction they had in previous seasons and will have to rotate between CL games so think they'll drop more points around those games when they're playing some of the top half.

Liverpool more painful for me surely, but their was in Covid and with no fans so felt hollow anyway. If Arsenal win it this season and we come second in a distance of a few points it will hurt a lot.

We could have been right there at the top but we missed opportunities. I'm sure Arsenal will drop more points but will we finally start to take the chances given to us?

It is on. Should we win tomorrow and City win midweek then we would be sitting at 6 points behind league leaders with a game in hand. Both scenarios are very likely.

This is why i wanted arsenal to win but city to lose points. I want to takeover city 1st before surprising arsenal. City vs Arsenal draw would be good next.

What happens midweek?

It’s going to be a season of what ifs I think. For us to not get our transfers done before the Brighton and Brentford games.

And then draw and loss to Palace and Arsenal respectively. Had we not conceded to late goals in both games, particularly that Palace game where we should of had a dead cert penalty, we would be right in the equation for the title now.

Every team goes through that though. You’re almost asking for a perfect season here

It’s really not worth stressing about. We have Liverpool, Newcastle and Brighton away in March. Arsenal play home games against Bournemouth, Everton and Palace. It’s so unlikely that we’ll be able to stay close to them.

Aye, was indeed a huge asterix to Liverpools title. If circumstances were normal that year it would have been even more painful than it is.

Don't think I can stomach seeing Granit Xhaka lift the trophy, loathe him just as much as Jordan Henderson.

It's a shame Arsenal managed to get that win today but everyone will drop points in this league and City are not looking great at all this season. Just got to try and keep that points gap as .lw as possible heading into the final couple of months.

Beat barca, win the league cup and then focus on the league, we probably won't get it but seeing how top 4 looks pretty safe at the moment it might be worth a try.

If, like me, you think City are most likely to win the league then today was a good day for us, as long as we capitalise on it tomorrow.

What does concern me is that, after tomorrow, Arsenal play 3 more league games before we face Liverpool, so despite us having games in hand we could be a lot of points behind. Mentally that will have an impact. Leicester (A), Everton & Bournemouth at home I think. I'd be hoping that they don't get more than four points out of those, but it looks like two home bankers.

Arsenal have a streak of very winnable fixtures right now. It's going to be really hard to catch them.

Bloody hell Arsenal were minutes away...got to give them credit! a bad few weeks, takes bottle to win those games.

United are 3rd so all they need to focus on is 2nd place...take it 1 game at a time.

Yeah absolute cakewalk fixtures which will have no pressure on them whatsoever. IF only Dyche could take a leaf out of Klopp's book (sick saying that) and do double on Arsenal.

I did not expect City to drop points today. Kudos to Nottingham Forest.

I forgot Arsenal had a game in hand too.
Yeah and as @Bilbo points out they can really put some serious point deficit on us before we head to Anfield on Mar 5 which is daunting
